First Immortal of the Sword

The Ninebend Divine River Chains descended.

Su Yi exerted his will, then struck with his palm.

Bang!

The fiery red chain shook, then froze in midair.

Su Yi seized the opportunity to circulate the Tree of All World’s power and disappear.

A moment later, he reappeared ten thousand feet away, his blood and qi churning. He couldn’t help but look startled.

She used her Great Profound cultivation right from the get-go!

“You… actually blocked it?” Qing Wu was stunned, and she found this difficult to believe. She’d been preparing for this strike for a long time, she’d used the full extent of her Great Profound cultivation base without hesitation, and she’d ambushed him. That should have been enough to severely injure even others of the slevel.

She’d thought her victory was certain against an Immortal King like Su Yi. Yet he’d somehow slipped through her fingers.

“It seems this was just a meticulously prepared deathtrap,” Su Yi said calmly. “Alas, I knew right from the start that a capricious woman like you was unworthy of my trust.”

Qing Wu grinned. “And what good does knowing that do you? You’ve already fallen into my trap. There’s no escape for you now!”

Her body lit up, and she shook her wrist. The fiery red Ninebend Divine River Chains suddenly manifested countless fiery red arcs of divine light. The arcs crisscrossed and intertwined, forming a massive cage that blotted out the sun!

And Su Yi was like a beast in this cage. There was nowhere for him to run.

This was the strength of a Great Profound Stage expert. A casual strike could transform their surroundings and superimpose their Dao Domain over heaven and earth. And when Qing Wu waved the Ninebend Divine River Chains, the fiery red cage shrank, as if she were pulling in her net. She wanted to trap and bind this “fish” completely.

Su Yi naturally wouldn’t just sit around and wait to die.

Practically simultaneously, he broke free and disappeared into thin air.

“This…” The pupils of Qing Wu’s beautiful eyes constricted. An Immortal King just broke through a Great Proofund Stage expert’s barrier!? It’s simply unbelievable!

Meanwhile, Su Yi’s voice resounded throughout heaven and earth. “I don’t get it. Aren’t you afraid of divine misfortune?”

But even though Qing Wu heard his voice, she couldn’t locate him! Even when she used almighty abilities combined with her Great Profound cultivation base, she couldn’t figure out where Su Yi had hidden himself.

This made her heart shake, but outwardly, she laughed. “Surprise, surprise! The Magnetic Origin Ice Sea is covered in Magnetic Origin Light, which blocks the Immortal Realm’s power of divine misfortune!”

“So that’s it. It seems you’ve really racked your brains for ways to takedown over the past few months,” Su Yi sighed. 

“To tell the truth, I never would have guessed a place free from divine misfortune would exist deep in the Eastern Sea,” Qing Wu said leisurely. “Of course, the most wondrous part is that I have the Fuyou Boat to thank for leadinghere. Now that I think about it, I was looking for the Fuyou Boat because of you… Was this perhaps an act of fate? Are the heavens themselves helping me?

As she spoke, her entire body billowed over with murderous intent, and the power of the Great Profound Stage spread outward in all directions in a bid to figure out where Su Yi was hiding.

Qing Wu frowned. Try as she might, there was no sign of Su Yi. It was like he’d evaporated into thin air.

His voice rang out once more. “You’re jumping to conclusions.”

Boom!

Qing Wu attacked suddenly. The fiery Ninebend Divine River Chain took to the skies, swinging at the source of Su Yi’s voice.

It was like a divine whip sweeping through the air with immeasurably tyrannical force. The entire ten-thousand-foot stretch of sky broke like paper window paneling, and a fiery rain of light burst forth, tearing a hole in space!

But this attack missed. Su Yi wasn’t there at all.

Qing Wu’s eyelids twitched.

But it was then that a sharp edge appeared behind her and flashed past.

The first sword stance of reincarnation, a Moment of Silence!

Bang!!!!

At a critical juncture, a layer of fiery red armor appeared around her. It looked as if it had been forged out of molten gold. The armor blocked Su Yi’s sudden strike, and the entire stretch of sky collapsed into pieces with a bang. Terrifying destructive power erupted, sending Qing Wu flying back.

She looked wretched. But a moment later, her eyes blazed with murderous intent, and she roared, “I found you!”

Boom!

Her fiery chains swept through the sky, shattering it with ease before slamming at the place where Su Yi’s strike had originated.

Clang!!!

A heaven-shaking impact rang out.

Su Yi was forced back into view, and both man and sword were sent flying back.

But before Qing Wu could give chase, Su Yi disappeared into thin air. Qing Wu gnashed her teeth in fury.

She could tell that Su Yi had skind of suprspatial secret treasure, one that let him shuttle freely through space.

This was even more terrifying than teleportation, as it left no traces behind. This made it extremely difficult to lock onto him!

Su Yi’s voice rang out once more. “If that’s all you prepared, I’m afraid you won’t be able to keephere.”

He was inwardly rueful. Admittedly, he’d grown strong enough to kill Great Profound Stage wraiths, but only if he could accept getting hurt in the process. As for a living Great Profound expert like Qing Wu... they were far superior to a wraith of the slevel. Su Yi knew he had almost no hope of killing her.

For instance, that ambush with a Moment of Silence would have destroyed a Great Profound Stage wraith with ease, but Qing Wu instantly summoned armor to block it. She wasn’t even injured!

The difference was readily apparent.

More importantly, Qing Wu was no ordinary Great Profound Stage expert. She was from the God Domain, and she was just one step away from achieving divinity herself. All she needed was an opportune moment. She might not be as strong as an unparalleled divine son like Luo Tiandu, but she was still plenty terrifying!

“I can’t keep you here?” A cold smirk tugged at Qing Wu’s lips. “We’ll see about that”!

She raised her hand into the air, and a lotus-shaped talisman exploded, filling the air with blood-red flower petals. There were tons of them, and they spread outward, filling the air.

They looked colorful and beautiful, but they were each like an unparalleled sharp knife. They ripped the sky apart with ease.

From a distance, it seemed as if everything within a thousand miles was covered in blood-red petals. They’d sliced the sky into countless pieces.

Su Yi had hidden himself in the void, but now, he was instantly forced back into view.

Qing Wu instantly descended upon him. Her hair danced madly about her, and her eyes shone with murderous intent. When she raised her hand, the Ninebend Divine River Chain expanded and swung at Su Yi like a whip.

Su Yi waved his sword and blocked, only for the impact to force him ten thousand feet back.

But then, he disappeared again.

Qing Wu was just about to do as she’d done before and force Su Yi into the open when his laughter resounded throughout heaven and earth. “This battle is far too unfair. If you want to fight, let’s take this outside the Magnetic Origin Ice Sea. Let’s see if you dare act so brazenly then.”

Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, Qing Wu looked stricken. “He’s trying to run away. Hurry up and attack already!?”

“So, you aren’t alone?” Su Yi was just about to charge out of the Magnetic Origin Ice Sea when something occurred to him.

Boom!

Off in the distance, heaven and earth suddenly transformed. A mysterious, restrictive power took to the skies, connecting heaven and earth.

That restrictive force consisted of countless strange talisman markings. They were dazzlingly bright, stinging the eyes, and together, they were like an insurmountable barrier. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.

The most unsettling part was that the restriction was full of taboo power. It flowed like water, sealing the entire stretch of heaven and earth off completely.

Streaks of Magnetic Origin Light slammed into it, only to disappear in a flash. They couldn’t even shake the barrier.

Su Yi’s pupils constricted. Is this a divine restriction!?

Meanwhile, relaxed, hearty laughter rang out.

“We’ve succeeded! The Thousand Currents Heaven-Sealing Restriction’s power has sealed the Magnetic Origin Ice Sea off completely and locked down the Laws of Space. No one can escape!”

A figure emerged through the insurmountable barrier of the restriction. 

He was a gaunt man with long white hair and eyes as sharp as a hawk’s. His skin was coppery, and his features were cold and hard, as if they’d been hewn out of stone.

He was dressed in a feather coat, and when he walked, countless currents seemed to rise and fall beneath his feet, shattering the sky with thunderous booms.   

But his most striking feature was the black wings sprouting from his back!

When Qing Wu saw him, she visibly relaxed, but at the stime, her gaze carried undisguisable hints of dread.

“Right, we’ve got to capture him within ten minutes, or the Thousand Currents Heaven-Sealing Restriction will dissipate.” The gaunt man approached leisurely, his voice booming throughout heaven and earth. He didn’t care in the least if Su Yi overheard.

“Just ten minutes?” Qing Wu frowned.

The gaunt man laughed. “Ten minutes… is more than enough.”

As he spoke, he raised his hand and tapped.

Boom!

The power of the restriction fell like a raging downpour, sweeping in all directions. Su Yi had hidden himself, but now, he had no choice but to dodge. In doing so, he revealed himself.

His gaze was solemn. This guy’s abilities are far greater than Qing Wu’s! Who is he?

“See? He’s out in the open again, isn’t he?” The gaunt man laughed; everything had gone according to plan.

Qing Wu flashed him a charming smile. “Brother Gu, you really live up to your reputation as one of the Ten Great Yao Sovereigns. Your methods are impressive indeed.”

Brother Gu? One of the Ten Great Yao Sovereigns?

Su Yi finally understood. This must be Gu Yunchan, the Angler’s youngest disciple and an unparalleled Yao Sovereign infamous throughout the God Domain. There’s no doubt about it. Xi Ning was right, Gu Yunchan was sure to clooking forafter arriving in the Immortal Realm! But I wouldn’t have guessed he’d join forces with Qing Wu, much less set a trap forin the Magnetic Origin Ice Sea.

“No wonder you changed your mind so suddenly. He agreed to neutralize the karmic power plaguing you, didn’t he?” asked Su Yi.

“How’d you figure that out?” exclaimed Qing Wu.

“It’s to be expected.” Gu Yunchan’s eyes flashed. “The kid’s realized who I am. It’s not at all surprising that he’d guess that I could neutralize karmic entanglements.”

In the God Domain, everyone knew that his master, Old Man Province, had power over karma!

Gu Yunchan paused, then said, “Let’s capture him quickly. Delays will only lead to trouble.”

Boom!

He pressed down on the air, and the taboo power of the restriction swept forth like a flood, blanketing heaven and earth and enveloping Su Yi.

At the stime, Qing Wu shot forward and cracked her fiery Ninebend Divine River Chain like a whip.
