Scarlett wore a casual dress today. The two were walking together, and they looked like a college couple on their vacation.
The girl was pretty and the guy was handsome. When the two cout of the elevator, people all subconsciously looked at them.
Sthought there might be a film crew filming nearby. They looked around and waited for quite a while but found not any crew. Raymond and Scarlett walked afar. Then people realized that the two were just passersby, but had gorgeous looks.
Scarlett hadn't played billiards in a long time. Alexis loved playing billiards in middle school. They used to play billiards after school at the grocery store behind the school. They would each buy a drink. And they wouldn't go hfor supper until it was dark.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtScarlett and Alexis were both pretty girls. The grocery owner liked them. They used to spend no more than three dollars a day, but a lot of other students followed them there. And they would buy snacks.
Literally, Scarlett and Alexis brought a lot of business to the store. So the owner welcomed the two girls very much. Later he even treated them to drinks for free. He liked to have them play billiards in his store.
Justin's family was not rich. He did homework for many of his classmates and they paid him five dollars each time. There were a few rich kids at school and they often asked Justin to do their homework. After school, Scarlett and Alexis went to play billiards, and Justin would go with them. He would do his "part-tjob" aside.
Alexis actually sucked at playing billiards, and Scarlett had to slow down every time.
"What are you thinking about?" Raymond asked.
Then Scarlett snapped back to her senses. She collected her thoughts and smiled at Raymond, "I just remembered when | used to go to play billiards with Alexis and Justin." Tflew. It had been more than a decade. All three of them had accomplished something. They had all made sachievements.
Raymond waved his cue, "When did you learn to play billiards ?" "In middle school." Raymond looked at her, tenderness in his eyes, "Baby, you must be a good player.” Now in the billiards room, it was just the two of them. But it was a public place after all. Scarlett blushed when she heard Raymond call her "baby" all of a sudden.
But she kept her composure. She looked at Raymond and smiled, "I'm just OK." "Then let's play a game!” Scarlett stared at him and narrowed her eyes. "How about we have a bet?" "Sure." "What's the bet?" "If I lose, I'll take you hafter dinner.
But if you lose, we'll go pick up your grandpa together tomorrow." Scarlett exclaimed, "You've got a lot of nerve." He was blatantly tempting her on the Tank family's turf. Wasn't he afraid that her grandfather would skin him tomorrow? "Life needs a little bit of adventure." Raymond added after a pause, "The bed in the hotel was uncomfortable. | didn't sleep well last night. If | have you in my arms tonight, | will sleep well." Scarlett looked down at the colorful balls on the table and curled up the corners of her lips, "Sure." He couldn’t win anyway.
Alexis was a terrible billiards player, which made Scarlett look too good! The grownups at the next tables used to watch them play billiards, and occasionally they would play with Scarlett.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGradually, Scarlett's skills got better and better.
Later, when they reached the third year of middle school, many people heard that Scarlett was excellent at playing billiards. And sof them cto challenge her.
Scarlett didn't want to play with them, so she suggested the loser give the winner a hundred dollars at each game.
Her request did scare off people who wanted to hit on her, but speople thought Scarlett was bragging, and they brought the money to see if Scarlett was really that good.
At that time, a hundred dollars was Scarlett's pin money for a whole month. In order not to lose her pin money, Scarlett watched a lot of billiards match videos online.
Scarlett was a fast learner, and she had a good memory. She practiced the skills she learned in the videos a few times and she mastered them.
That summer Scarlett won over $3,000 playing billiards with others. Surely, she didn't win every time. But she only lost two games out of 40 or so. So, she was really good at it.
