Chapter 1005

Flora hung up the phone with a calm indifference.

"Boss, who was on the line?"

"Just an idiot," Flora replied, slipping her phone into her pocket.

Howell, hearing this, realized someone had gotten under her skin. He adjusted his glasses and asked, "Want us

to teach them a lesson?"

"Not even worth it," Flora chuckled lazily. "Let's focus on the interviews. You all go ahead; I'll join you soon."

"Got it."

Meanwhile, Blake stared at her now-dark phone screen, her face contorted with frustration.

The past few days had been a nightmare for her.

Someone had leaked her whistleblowing, and now the entire academic world was abuzz. Former mentors were

avoiding her like the plague, and the research position she had been promised had evaporated.

In academia, nothing is dreaded more than a tarnished reputation. She had becpersona non grata among

many esteemed professors.

She despised Flora, and the idea of apologizing over the phone was repugnant, but Mr. Richard's deadline was

looming.

She had no choice but to make that call.

Flora should just let bygones be bygones, after all, when does a senior apologize to a junior?

But to her astonishment, Flora had simply hung up!

Flora sent Howell and the others ahead to the interview room.

After sipping on her drink, she strolled over, arriving fashionably late. Outside the interview room, Lydia and a

few others waited anxiously.

The interview was about to begin, and she was eager to meet Rose.

"Lydia, relax. Everyone knows how talented you are. You're a shoo-in for Rose's Studio. Who knows, Rose might

even mentor you," her friends encouraged, smiling.

Lydia smirked, feeling confident about her chances at Rose's Studio.

She texted Blake: "Hey sis, I'm about to head into my interview, so I'm turning off my phone. Don't sweat

the Flora thing. I'll handle her when | get a chance."

After sending the message, Lydia powered down her phone, sat up straight, and braced herself for the interview.

But suddenly, she spotted a familiar face.

Lydia couldn't believe her eyes!

"Flora!"

She yelled, rushing over to confront her.

The girl, with her cool demeanor and laid-back attitude, was undeniably Flora.

Lydia had only seen Flora's photos on Twitter, never caring much until Flora messed with her sister.

She thought she'd been mistaken, but there Flora was!

Her sister was suffering because of her, and yet Flora had the nerve to show up here!

And looking so nonchalant!

"Wow, you really are easy on the eyes," she sneered, eyeing Flora. "No wonder you've got so many guys backing

you."

"Lydia, do you know her?" someone asked curiously, noting Flora's striking appearance but not recognizing her.

"Of course | do!" Lydia scoffed. "This here is Flora, quite the piece of work!"

Lydia was set on defending Blake. "Flora, how dare you expect my sister to apologize to you? My sister Blake, a

vice professor at a top. university at just thirty-a rare, genius-apologizing to you? Get real."

"Oh, so she's the infamous Flora," remarked a designer familiar with Lydia and aware of the Flora-Blake situation,

their perception of Flora shifting. "The one who made her own teacher apologize!"

Flora said nothing, simply glancing at the nbadge on Lydia's chest.

It displayed her name.

She pulled out her phone, lazily tapping away on the screen.
