Chapter 497 CH 483: RISING SUN
?497 CH 483: RISING SUN
Adam was quite…Let's say stunned by Natasha's question. It was quite the unexpected one, to say the least. But soon, it brought a smile to his face.
"Even your parents will have to call me grand uncle if they see me."
Natasha laughed. Just imagining this was hilarious. Seniority was still very prevalent in their society as werewolves. As the son of Cain, Adam had without a doubt the third highest seniority possible. But his true age was not even half of that of her father.
This was entertaining.
"I am not a hunter, and I have no interest in the so-called equilibria for peace. Those are just excuses from people vested in keeping the status quo."
She took his hands, "I don't know when you will reveal yourself to the world, but just know it will not be you vs the world. It will be us against a bunch of greedy people."
Adam appreciated the gesture, "In the end, as cliche as it may seem, everything depends on my power and that of my forces. If I am weak, I will be trampled on in the name of justice. If I am strong enough, I will be observed from afar."
This was all. In this situation, this was not a matter of morality. Just of power. No matter how simple it seemed, sometimes reality was that simple.
Natasha nodded. She had a full day to process everything and accept what Adam was. Even though she seemed so nonchalant now, it had not been easy as she fought to grasp all the implications.

Adam was not safe and once things exploded, she may even become a weak point for him. Fighting someone who had nothing to lose was one thing but it was different when it was someone who had people he loved and cared for.
She too needed to become stronger. She wanted to walk alongside Adam, not as a burden that needed to be protected and cared for but as a companion that could walk equally or as close as possible to him.
A day where she was so helpless Adam had to die many times to save her like he did yesterday should never happen again.
"Well. Enough discussion about this. I have a question. I am not the only one who saw everything, right?"
"Takoda, you mean?"
"Yeah." She spoke with mixed emotions. Takoda was one of the candidates for her fiance's position before becoming an enemy when he sent kidnappers to her. If not for the events of her awakening, the Great Wolves and the Grey Wolves would have already gone to war. So she was indeed confused about what she should feel. After all, the man had his jaw and limbs destroyed just to give her enough time. Adam may have not been able to help her if his Phantasm Realm hadn't helped counter and weaken her slightly.
"I know he helped us. I do not want to be ungrateful. But…"
"Do not worry. He…Well. Let's just say I have my eyes on him. Every time. I plan to use him to settle in Vegas and he is the perfect candidate."
Since he killed Diego and Miguel with his experiment, Adam had always felt a little regretful. But now, he knew that he had a much better point of entry. If Adam was honest, one could say he already had a hand in LA and Vegas.
Thanks to Tsubasa, Yui, and even Natasha, he already had three of the big four in LA. Yui was even an entry point to the Feng family. But this was something to keep for later. After all, they seemed quite hostile to Yui.
Outside of this, his aunt was the literal Director of LA and he was starting to build his force that will have the riches of the mermaid as a starting point. In a way, at least in LA, one could say that he was already the one with the most influence.
At the rate things were going, it wouldn't be weird for him to conquer the entirety of LA if he tried.
Meanwhile, on Vega's side, the Grey Wolves were pretty much the highest family. They may have lost some power because of the previous leader's death. But, they were not to be underestimated.
More than anything,
"He gave me important information. One that might help me find people I want to get rid of."
Properly speaking. Adam only had two true enemies for now.
The first one was the mysterious group that created the whole Vampire serial killer incident that ended with his having to kill a young girl who had just been raped and used as a tool for a Devil summoning. Even just thinking about it made Adam's blood boil slightly.
He had never forgotten them and he would destroy that group.
The second group was the one that induced Hae-Won's husband and ended up with her and her child to be sacrificed once again for summoning a Devil.
It had to be said but. It seemed like cults in general were destined to be his nemesis. He hoped this would not escalate too much. Sadly, destroying all cults was simply impossible.
Now thanks to Takoda, he had gotten a clue about dark elves. An information might give him a new force to control or new enemies to behead.

They nodded and talked. What followed was not the steamy the night Adam would have perhaps hoped. They had to work on Hugr perception after all. Adam was even thinking on how to help her project herself or get a body so that she could have her own independence away from Natasha.
He didn't know if it was possible. But…It seemed like making the impossible possible was his whole thing.
'I might find an answer in the Silver Library.'
This was something to ponder.
In the end, as the light of the sun started to bath the world, Adam and Natasha were floating quietly in each other arms and admiring the rising sun.
"Thank you, Adam. For everything."
"This is just the beginning, you know? We have many things to explore and many sights to witness."
"True. We will do all this together."
She smiled.
Natasha was happy. Many hardships were in the horizon but she knew she could overcome them all.
As long as he was there with her.
What more to ask?
This was the beauty of life.
