Dan soon returned to the audience, and Karan took his place. He then began to experience it in a similar manner. No one was paying attention to Karan at this time. On the contrary, everyone was watching Raydon's movements. They were attempting to understand how he accomplished it.
As he stood there watching, Dan's mouth dropped open. How is this even possible? Raydon was standing right next to Karan, close enough for him to feel his breath. But how could he not notice, hear, or feel him?
They were starting to suspect it was an illusion when Raydon's next words made their hearts race.
''This is a shadow assassin technique. And your next training will consist of learning this.'' Raydon said calmly.
The excitement in everyone's hearts was so intense that they nearly forgot to breathe. They were about to learn this cool-sounding technique. They thanked themselves for persevering to the end during the previous training in order to earn this right. After all of their efforts, they were finally able to learn a true assassin technique.
''And for this training… ''
Raydon glanced at the warehouse's broken windows and a few of the broken glass bottles he had seen around the corners before continuing. '' Gather and break as much glass as you can, then spread it out here. '' Raydon finished his sentence with another devilish smile.
Raydon's instructions and the smile on his face told everyone that it would be another hellish training session.
—
Raydon eventually found himself in front of a pile of shattered glass.
''Hmm, not bad. '' He said with approval after spending some time examining the glass fragments.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe ten people were once again lined up in a single file, waiting for Raydon's instructions. In contrast to the previous training, this time, they appeared more curious than nervous. They believed they could handle whatever came their way because of their prior training.
''You'll practice this training in pairs again. In the middle of this glass pool, two people will engage in a sort of blind man's buff game. '' Raydon studied everyone's expressions and continued when he realized they knew what the game was.
''During this game, the person who is blindfolded will be allowed to wear shoes. Of course, you can choose not to wear it. And, just like in the game, they will win the game as soon as they manage to touch their partner. ''
Raydon was pleased to see everyone nodding in agreement.
''The key here is to be as quiet as possible for the person attempting to avoid being touched. Simultaneously, the person attempting to touch should try to open up all of their perceptions as much as possible in order to find and touch their partner. ''
Raydon motioned to Dan and Karan once more, asking them to try. Karan and Dan took a step forward into the pool of glass, quickly deciding that Karan should wear the eye patch. Unsurprisingly, Karan had also objected to wearing shoes.
As they cautiously took their first steps over the shards, they felt the glass painfully dig into their feet. They were initially very cautious and moved slowly, so the glass shards didn't cut their feet, but they couldn't help but feel uneasy when they imagined what would happen when the real action began.
''I should also remind you of one more thing. '' Dan and Karan, who were slowly preparing, heard Raydon call out to them.
"Let the glass fragments that cut your feet as little as possible. Keep in mind that you won't be able to complete the training if you sustain serious injuries. ''
Upon hearing this, Karan and Dan tensed up. The worst thing that could have happened to them wasn't getting their feet cut. The worst thing that might occur is that they won't be able to finish this training.
In actuality, things like walking on shattered glass, stepping on blazing coals, or lying on jagged nails were not impossible. However, it took a lot of time and study to achieve these. Raydon was putting pressure on Karan and Dan to do it right away.
Karan and Dan cautiously made their way to the center of the shard pool and took positions. They already had minor cuts on their feet from walking this far.
As they considered how to move their feet with the least amount of damage, Raydon's soothing voice could be heard in their ears once more.
"Purge your thoughts…
Ignore the pain in your feet…
Recognize that the glass fragments beneath your feet cannot harm you. ''
When Dan and Karan heard the instructions, they started carrying them out right away. They appeared to be drawn into intense meditation by Raydon's voice.
''Feel yourself becoming lighter, visualize that your weight is distributed evenly over your body, and ease off on the pressure you apply to the ground. ''
The stinging in Dan and Karan's feet gradually subsided, and they were stepping on the glass shards more confidently and comfortably by this point. The only thing left to do was to prevent glass shards from cutting their feet.
In his deep voice, Raydon kept speaking.
''Focus on your heartbeat…
Feel the air touching your skin…
Acknowledge the presence of the person in front of you,
and acknowledge the presence of everyone present. ''
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAt this point, Dan and Karan were both completely still. Their mental and spiritual control had already reached incredible heights due to their prior training. And now, following Raydon's instructions, they felt as though they were slowly activating their sixth sense.
Dan had already closed his eyes, like Karan, who was blindfolded. Despite the fact that both of their eyes were closed, something began to glow in the depths of the darkness they were seeing.
They first noticed the flow of air synchronizing with their heartbeats, then the light took on the shape of each other, and finally, they began to sense everyone in the environment. Their eyes were closed, but they didn't need them to see anymore. All motion and life were now perceptible to them.
