Just as Jennifer was about to kick out at the first of the four Preactors their body appeared to petrify before their eyes turned black as they disintegrated into countless manifested energy particles.
They hadn't been killed, but forcefully expelled from the Inheritance site, yet, she hadn't done anything to achieve this.
As such, Jennifer couldn't help but feel odd.
At that moment, a thunderous roar reverberated in the entire space around them, as the ground began to violently shake, which caused her to turn around to Jason.
'Did…Jason deprive them of their consciousness??' She assumed in shock, only to see that his appearance had drastically transformed.
"Just what did I request him to do?!" Jennifer blurted out subconsciously, her eyes trained on Jason.
His aura enveloped him tightly, merging with Jason, and making it seem as if his skin turned partially golden-silverish.
Blood leaked from his eyes that had turned pitch-black, while the chaos attribute swept over, creating torment waves of energy that pushed Jennifer, forcing her to take a few steps back.
Never had she sensed such terrifying energy, even less from someone with a much lower cultivation base than hers.
Because of that she was already shocked, yet that was not everything about Jason's appearance that had changed.
While his Celestia aura had become even stronger, materializing in a distinct golden color that had silverish strands, his Stigma seemed to have enlarged too.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHowever, that was not all because the most apparent change in Jason's appearance was the halo that had manifested slightly above his forehead.
It released unfamiliar energy waves which Jennifer could only faintly recall from somewhen in her past. Despite that, she was not sure if her memory was even correct.
'Is that…divine energy?'
Confused about everything she could see in front of her, Jennifer's only thought was that Jason must be bearing a huge burden, just to defeat the four Preactors.
This was not an easy feat, and considering that he looked like he had just ascended to God-hood, only to bleed profusely out of his pitch-black eyes, the situation seemed to be not as great as one could hope for.
The Preactors may have been defeated, but the energy leaking from Jason didn't subside.
As such, Jennifer wanted to help Jason by all means.
She was not sure why exactly she wanted to help him by all means possible, but her head and heart told her to do so.
Unfortunately, just as she took a few steps to approach Jason once again, she made the mistake of lifting her head and looked straight into the pitch-black eyes. Somehow, she was transfixed to the spot as his eyes seemed to devour her.
Only a moment later, which had felt like an eternity, Jennifer was released from this sensation. It was then that she noticed that her legs had given in, causing her to slump to the ground without being able to resist it.
She hadn't even been the target of Jason's attack but had almost lost her consciousness, just like the four Preactors.
As such, Jennifer realised that not only was Jason's strength much higher than she had assumed before, but also the burden of unleashing this strength was too much to handle.
In the end, Jason had to face the consequences for acting the way he did.
This was something he had been fully aware of, thus, he gave his utmost efforts to endure and overcome the destructive effect of the suddenly released energy.
While distributing the attack on all of his four targets uniformly, Jason realised that the chaos attribute that had been used to maintain a few seals was not enough to defeat all four Preactors.
At the same time, Jennifer's strength was too unreliable so if he had been unable to shackle down all four of them, the results would have been devastating for them.
As such, he had given it his all, ignoring everything else, to protect himself, and Jennifer, who he had grown fond of.
If Jennifer wouldn't have been close to him, Jason wouldn't even have bothered to rescue her, let alone enter the Inheritance site. But, despite knowing that there were four opponents, who were likely to kill them, if they were to encounter each other he took the risk.
It was just that both Jason and Jennifer didn't realise how important they had become to each other.
As such, while Jason had used every single trait of his to protect the two of them, Jennifer now wanted to help Jason by all means, knowing that he was under tremendous pain.
Approaching him slowly, Jennifer realised that the energy released by Jason was slowly being regulated.
Or, at least, that was what it seemed like because Jason didn't expel the energy anymore.
Instead, he did something crazy the moment he noticed that Jennifer was affected and almost thrown out of the Inheritance trials due to him.
Using his energy to strengthen every single cell inside his body once again, Jason forced the remaining chaos attribute under his control as he enveloped it with the Celestia aura.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJason didn't care whether the chaos attribute belonged to the mysterious being whose soul's fraction was imprinted into the deepest part of his consciousness, or someone else; the moment it was released into his body, he should have taken it as his.
This should have been obvious, but Jason hadn't done so. Instead, he had pushed away from the chaos attribute, only using it to enhance the abyssal effect of his Emperor Eyes.
Yet, Jason's opinion had changed, and he would annex every ounce of the remaining chaos attribute that was uncontrollably leaking through his Emperor Eyes, without an exception.
Closing his eyes, he concentrated on doing so and the uncomfortable and eerie sensation around Jennifer vanished, only to leak around the area of Jason's head, or to be precise his eyes.
Forcing it to stay inside his eyes, the Celestia aura started to annex the Chaos attribute by using the overwhelming characteristics of a true Celestia, and a small margin of the remaining energy.
At the same time, the other part of the remaining energy was still utilised to be circulated through his body, invigorating Jason, while simultaneously causing him unbearable pain.
By unleashing more than 20 minor seals that had been put on his body, the energy that would normally be used to maintain the seals, and the Bloodline had been released at once.
As such, it was already a wonder that Jason was able to control everything freely as if he was not even noticing the pain as his insides were being torn and twisted.
In the end, he felt it, but that didn't mean he had the time to pay anymore attention to it.
Instead, using every trace of energy to annex the remaining chaos attribute, while further strengthening his entire being, Jason was slowly growing stronger. He was also growing accustomed to both, the overbearing energy and the chaos attribute that was slowly intertwined with paper-thin golden threads.
He was not sure how much time had passed, but what Jason realised was that the golden halo made out of the purest energy didn't disintegrate.
As such, he wanted to actively destroy it in order to use the energy to further strengthen his body.
Jason knew that it was not yet time for him to receive his first halo, thus he had to wait a little bit longer until he was truly ready for it.
Just as his hand reached out for the halo, Jason noticed that someone was extremely close to him, giving him warmth and making him feel safe and secure, reassuring him that everything was fine.
This was something he hadn't felt in a long time, and it caused a faint smile to emerge on his face, as he recalled a memory which he had thought to have long since forgotten.
It was the memory of the person he had loved the most, hugging him tightly- his mother's tight embrace.
