Harem God: Leveling Up Yanderes in the Apocalypse
Chapter 76 Beef My Wasteland Ep. 2 - Farming"Meet Manka, Head of Demolition." Leon announced, walking up to the buff black snake woman, "She's a lamia, similar to a naga but they don't focus on charm. Manka, would you like to introduce yourself?"
"I'm Manka." Manka replied indifferently, "I crush shit, and there's shit to crush."
Leon chuckled and turned to the camera. "As you can tell, she's perfect for the roll."
Haremites laughed in the background. They were following Leon around to give the atmosphere of a sitcom. Among them was Auburn, who had a salty expression.
Leon wouldn't look at her or accept her insights. He ignored her, making her want to raze the place to the ground when they finished.
However, in anticipation of her saltiness, Alcibiades made non-aggression part of the conditions. If Auburn disobeyed, she'd be disqualified and receive punishment. It would be excessive, given that Leon was the century's top candidate.
Worse, there were other consequences for failure. Auburn's prize for winning was vast, but so was the price for failure. So she bit her lip and followed him around.
"We're currently on the west side of Harem City, destroying a five-by-one mile rectangle of land to use for farming." Leon explained, "Let's show you the full process. Manka, please demonstrate."
The snake woman used her power to become 40 feet tall and slithered over to a massive rectangular storefront made of white bricks. Then she wrapped her arms against it.
Everyone put their hands over their ears as the building groaned and glass exploded everywhere. The crunching noise was horrifying as Manka ground it into a pile of debris.
Then the woman slithered back on a predefined path and placed the wreckage into a pile, and thirty women left the Sanctuary safe zone and walked up to it.
"What are they doing?" Quinn asked, leading the interviewing process.
"Let's ask." Leon said with a smile.
The group walked three blocks to the wreckage sight. Auburn followed him enthusiastically, constantly attempting to flirt with him in various ways during that period, but he ignored her.
How he treated her was worse than him being annoyed. He was ambivalent to the point that the 200-year-old demigod of beauty felt completely worthless.
A forty-year-old woman with her hair in a tight brown bun stood in front of the wreckage, giving orders to the other twenty-one women.
"Hello Cindy," Leon said with a charming smile, "Can you tell me what's going on here?"
She turned around in annoyance, but her eyes widened when she saw Leon. The woman didn't like to be bothered during work, but she immediately stopped what she was doing.
"We're processing old materials." Cindy said, "Our architect magic allows us to take wood, concrete, and metals and refine and shape them."
"How interesting. Let's watch." Leon said, waving his hand in the air while moving closer.
It bewildered the woman, but a haremite walked up and explained he was on God Display, showcasing the process. She gulped and did her best to entertain.
"Tanya, let's get started with glass." Cindy called out to Tanya, the blue-skinned humanoid.
The haremite immediately complied. "Wind Dance."
A playful gust of wind whipped into the debris pile, pulling the glass into the air in a small vortex and lightly gliding them in front of two human women.
Two brunettes wearing shorts and tank tops walked up, put out their hands, and closed their eyes.
A red glow illuminated the area. The glass shards raised in the air and immediately melted. Brown and black impurities in the glass dripped to the ground in a surreal display.
The melted glass then took shape, reforging it into a large plane of pristine glass. The large seven-by-five-foot pane glided carefully onto a cloth in the back of a pickup truck.
Then a driver immediately began driving into the distance.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"As you can see, architecture magic allows us to repurpose materials in exact dimensions." Cindy explained, "It also gave us profound insights on architecture, allowing us to design properly without prior knowledge."
"That's amazing…." Quinn whispered.
"Isn't it? This is the type of magic that women can only find in Harem City." Leon announced with a shameless smile.
"Is it really?" The redhead asked with a false voice, snapping out of her prior perplexion. She was a skillful people person, and that was on full display.
"Of course." Leon chuckled, "These women were non-blessed survivors that were gifted with this non-combat magic. I can guarantee that [no one alive] asked for architecture magic to survive the apocalypse."
The haremites burst into laughter, and gift notifications flashed before his eyes.
Manka returned with another pile and sloppily threw it on the pile, creating a small landslide.
"Watch what you're doing!" Cindy snapped at the snake woman, perplexing everyone.
The lamia was the most feared woman in Harem City, but a forty-year-old woman with non-combat magic snapped at her.
Manka gave her a murderous glare for a moment. When Cindy's glare didn't back down, she burst into laughter.
"Yes, mam." She laughed before turning around, "Fuckin' humans. Stupid, but respectably powerful."
The snake woman respected power and didn't mind any non-enemy demonstrating various forms of power. She judged the human's fierce fearlessness as a form of strength and complied, slithering away with a grin.
"As you can see, women here are safe." Leon said with a smile, "Now let's go to an area that's already processed."
Leon walked down the road to another area that had buildings removed. It had another group of thirty at the site.
"Are you ready, Leon?" Shawna asked when he arrived. The black woman was glowing after washing her hair with godly hair products and rebraiding her corn rows.
"Yes, I'd appreciate that." He confirmed with a smile.
She nodded and put out her hands. "Earth Pike."
A massive sharp earth spike shot from the earth.
"Why are you using weaponized magic?" Quinn asked in interest.
"We need dirt from the area." Shawna explained while flashing a smile, "And this is an efficient method for distributing it."
"How?" Quinn asked for clarification.
"Watch. Shatter." Shawna said. The earth shattered from the tip, sending dirt rolling down the base and filling the area in a full radius.
It continued cracking until it reached the base, completing a full mound.
"Pulse Oscillation." She continued.
A ripple of earth waved under the ground, raising everyone up and down like a rollercoaster.
The action sent dirt waving to the earth, shaking it into a unified form.
"Your up, Lisa." Shawna said with a smile.
"Yes, man." Lisa, a woman with short, curly brown hair, said. "Salt extraction."
Clear white salt rippled out of the earth, filling the top of the brown area with a layer of white.
"Salt?" Quinn asked for an explanation.
"Yes, the earth develops salt deposits over time." Lisa said.
"If someone grows crops without rotation, it builds up, creating arid land. That's why farmers dig irrigation ditches to allow the salt to flow out of the earth to prevent land exhaustion."
Everyone but Leon and the farming mages was stunned by the insight. However, the former faked surprise.
"With our agriculture magic, we can extract the salt and modify crops to store salt in their leaves and stems." Lisa continued, "With salt extraction, we can ensure that the crops won't be disturbed."
"That's amazing." The redhead said, "So what's next?"
"Danny, you're up." The curly-haired woman said.
Danny, a short nerdy woman with blotchy purple hair, said. "Zero."
The salt lifted from the ground, and multiple people with white bed sheets jumped into the air into the gravity field. They floated on the surface with a sail, capturing and pushing the salt to a truck on the other side.
Once they made it, the salt dropped to the ground in a pile, and five women picked up shovels and shoveled the salt into the back of a pickup truck.
"That was surreal to watch." Quinn laughed, "It reminds me of a certain movie with pirates."
"Me too." Danny said, "That's where I got the idea."
The haremites burst into laughter.
"Many saw Danny use gravity magic in the Paradise Road event." Leon said with a smile, "It's extremely useful in a way I never imagined."
"A agree." Quinn giggled, "What's next?"
"Aeration." Lisa said, "Rema, you're up."
"Minor Aeration." Rema, a woman with dirty blond hair wearing a red t-shirt, said.
A white aura immediately illuminated the area, and the wind sucked into the ground like a small vortex. It reached under the earth, fluffing the ground.
"What's aeration?" The redhead asked inquisitively for the waters.
"The soil is compacted right now, so we're adding air, allowing nutrients to reach plants in the soil," Lisa explained while curling a lock of brown hair with her finger.
"It's amazing that you know all of this already." Quinn laughed in bewilderment.
"Well, we only have five skills." Lisa giggled.
The haremites burst into laughter.
"Now we just have fertilization and minor vegetation magic." She announced, "Mandy, you're up."
Mandy, a woman with shoulder-length, reddish brown hair, nodded and put her hands up. "Minor Nitrate Supplement."
The ground illuminated with a purple aura, and a surreal vortex of air warped the air as it made its way to the earth.
"What's going on?" Quinn asked in confusion, "That doesn't look natural."
Lisa giggled.
"Nitrogen makes up 78 percent of earth's atmosphere, but it's lighter than oxygen and argon, the two other gasses in the air." She explained, "So when it's exclusively pushed to the earth, it warps the atmosphere you're used to seeing slightly. You only notice because it's contrasted against the normal air."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"I see. Why would you add nitrogen if it makes up most of the earth's air?" Quinn asked.
"Nitrogen is integral to chlorophyll, which converts sunlight into energy for plants." Lisa replied, "So we're forcing more into the soil as a nutrient to help plants develop before they reach the surface."
"That's amazing." Quinn said.
"Thank you." Lisa replied, "We only have minor magic but received higher levels due to the event. It allows us to improve our magic and expedite these processes."
"What will it look like when when you get higher levels?" The redhead asked.
"Something like this." Lisa said.
She waved her hand in the air, "Minor foliage."
An ambient green light illuminated the area, giving it a beautiful ambiance. Grass instantly sprouted in real time, showcasing the raw effects of magic,
Within thirty seconds, the area was completely green and continued growing until the blades were one inch tall, stunning everyone present.
"We can't choose crops." Lisa giggled while watching everyone's stunned expressions.
"However, we can eventually use landscaping magic to create forests, or plants required for synergistic growth."
"Synergistic growth? What do you mean?" Quinn asked.
"For example, in the future we'll be able to create mushrooms." Lisa said.
"While they seem simple, mushrooms have [roots], analogously, known as mycelium. Mycelium grows downward in the earth, often reaching a mile down.
It then attaches to the roots of trees, which span downward where nitrates are thin. The roots provide water to the mycelium, and the mycelium provides the trees with nutrients.
Without mushrooms, forests with tall trees, especially rainforests, couldn't grow."
Quinn blinked twice. "I-I see. Well, I'll just leave that stuff to the experts."
"Me too." Leon chuckled, "Let's check out our our showering situation's going. My head hurts."
The entire area burst into giggles as the two walked away.
Auburn sighed. She could tell that she wouldn't win the bet without her powers. The woman only had till the end of the day to seduce him, but he wouldn't look at her, and he was surrounded by people 24/7.
Worse, she learned about the extent of his phobia from the people present. Auburn didn't pay attention to it because she saw his O-face from a battlefield BJ the day before and was informed that she'd be able to seduce him as long as she made her intentions obvious.
However, she learned from others that his phobia made it impossible for him to sleep with anyone not in his direct harem at that point. Case closed. Checkmate.
"I give up." She chuckled bitterly, "I'll accept the losses and prepare to return. I can't believe I'll be working for that monster."
