Chapter 121 121. Cliff
"L-Lucius.. are you done now?" Asked Nina, her voice still shaking a little after witnessing the bloody battle
In response, Lucius quickly flicked the blood off of his sword before Re-sheathing it and saying this
"Don't worry, that was all of the nearby grey wolves. It should be safe to walk around."
Hearing this, Nina quickly breathed a sigh of relief.
With the guarantee of securityNina quickly calmed back down and although she was slightly worried, it wasn't long before she was once again absorbed by her research forgetting about her violentexperience not too long ago
Lucius diligently walked behind her watching out and guarding over her whilst still carrying all the equipment.
Fortunately, the journey didn't continue for much longer before Nina came to a stop right below a giant mountain cliff that was at least a hundred metres tall and spanned as wide as Lucius's eyes could follow
Unfortunately, this didn't signal the end of the expedition that Lucius had been hoping for.
Nina stared at the map in confusion, flicking it over and turning it but her expression did not get any better.
Eventually, she turned towards Lucius helplessly
"L-Lucius…I'm sorry, I think I messed up…"
Lucius didn't like the sound of things but knew he still had to Reg and help
"What is it, Nina?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"This… I think I took the wrong route. We're on the wrong side of the mountain but we still need to scale it and the path is on the other side."
Hearing this, Lucius's face instantly collapsed.
He looked up at the end steep mountain cliff and felt an oncoming headache
"How long would it take to go around?" asked Lucius
"30 to 40 minutes.." said Nina
But just as Lucius thought things couldn't get any worse Nina still continued.
"Even though this is the stated time, the route would take us through the heart of Grey Wolf territory so the actual time taken to do it may actually be double that."
Hearing this Lucius' eyes twitched but seeing Nina who looked evenworse than him and was quite literally on the verge of tears, Lucius just sighed.
But it wasn't long before Lucius's sigh turned into a wide smirk.
Placing his hand on her head, Lucius lightly ruffled Nina's hair.
"You don't need to cry anymore. I've already figured out how to handle this."
Before Nina could even ask a question Lucius confidently stepped forward
'Dragon Berserk!'
"Roar!"
A light roar emanated from Lucius's body as deep crimson lightning flickered all over hisbody condensing into beautiful, ruby red, lightning dragon scales as a pair of raging horns appeared on his head.
After the transformation, Lucius's arm wrapped around Nina's waist causing her to yelp out in surprise as he pulled her into his embrace.
The girl looked up at Lucius's handsome face and was left speechless.
Fortunately Lucius wouldn't leave her completely clueless.
"Hold on tight, you won't want to fall off in what happens next."
As Lucius spoke he benthis knees causing the ground to crack as a terrifying amount of force gathered below him in his legs before….
"Boom!"
Suddenly Lucius jumped up, setting off like a rocket and leaving an explosion like crater beneath him as the earth literally shattered under the impact.
The wind screeched and whistled past him as Lucius shot up the side of thecliff at dizzying speeds.
Just as Lucius was about to slow down his clawed and dragonified hand that was now sharper than steel pierced into the cliff wall like a knife through butterand Lucius used the gripto generate more momentum and flung himself upwardeven faster!
If someone was standing at the top of the cliff all they would hear would be a deafeningboom as the ground shook and a terrifying looking draconic monster wrapped in crimson lightning, crawledover the cliff edge , like a demon escaping from the deepest pits of hell!
"Gasp!"
Nina gasped and shook as finally took in a clean breath after soaring through the air.
She sent Lucius a slightly hateful glare.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIf he was going to do something so ridiculous the leastshe could do was send her a heads up!
Fear with Nina's glare Lucius could only scratch his head awkwardly as he deactivated his dragon berserk.
Nina also slowly walked towards the edge of the cliff and looked down.
"Gulp."
she looked down and couldn't help it feel a little cold.
The height she was standing easily surpassed a hundred metres so a fall from Here would be an instant death, yet somehow Lucius had justscaled this cliff with her in just a few seconds despite only being a first grade fighter!
Monster!
Nina was very sure she was with a disguised monsterin its human form!
"Nina… Nina!"
"Huh?"
Lucius's cry quickly snapped Nina out of her ridiculous conspiracy theories and brought her back to reality
"Nina, didn't you say that we need to gather and assess the magic plants at the top of the cliff? Let's get it done as quickly as possible so we can leave this forest."
As Lucius spoke he pointed to the easy tofind group of magic plants.
Although Lucius wasn't an alchemist or potion master by any means, he could easily identify these magic plants e sure they were quite literally glowing!
It was a small field of dazzling blue lilies that seemed to flicker as strange lights hovered around them like small floating fairies .
"The Pixie's tear Lily…" murmured Nina in awe..
Before she knew it, the inner scientist and researcher in her had taken over and it wasn't long before she was unpacking the testing and gathering gear from Lucius's backpackas she went over to the patch of glowing lilies barely able to contain her excitement.
A simple fighter like Lucius may not know the importance of these flowers it how could that be the same for a researcher and alchemist like Nina
