Chapter 225
Chapter 225
Xavier instinctively tightened his grip on the utensils. He blurted out, "Mom, don't you work too?"
Lily was taken aback. Was Xavier actually trying to defend her?
Tamara, clearly annoyed, tapped the table. "What's my job? Your father bullt everything for me, but what about
her?"
she didn't need to ask-she already knew Lily wa
wasn't working at Nova Group. After all, the Fulton family didn't deal with interior design.
Sarah pretended to be confused. "Mrs. Fulton, please don't be upset. Xavier wants to help her, but she's

"She doesn't understand? That's not her fault, it's Xavier's!"
Tamara
a snapped, now directing her anger at Xavier. "You're a man, what are you doing? Letting your wife beg others
for help? Do you think she's snobody who can just be thrown into the business world to fend for herself?"
Sarah was slightly offended, but Tamara wasn't known for being sarcastic, so she remained quiet.
"Do you think | knew about bodyguards or data when | joined the company? Tamara continued scolding Xavier.
"It was your father who taught me! A family doesn't need to know every business detail, but you should support
her if she wants to world! You might just end up like your dad, lounging around the house." Xavier's forehead
tensed, his veins bulging. He couldn't understand what kind of hold Lily had over his family. Even his usually
strict mother was putting this much pressure on him.
"Mom, | just want to design," Lily interjected, not trying to make excuses for Xavier but fearing that Tamara
would force her to quit her job and join Nova Group.
Tamara paused, frowning, then sighed. After a moment, she turned to Shane. "I remember you have a classmate
who runs a design company. Go ask about the process and set her up with one." Lily's eyes widened. "What?"
Sarah barely contained herself. Lily was an amateur designer, so suggesting that she start a company was
absurd.
Besides, Lily was going to divorce Xavier sooner or later. If they helped her open a company, it would only
benefit her!
"Alright." Without another word, Shane stood up to call his classmate.
"Dad!" Lily quickly stood and stopped him. "Mom, | haven't worked in design since graduation. Letget some
experience first before | decide if | want to open a company."
Shane looked at his wife, while Edith glanced at Tamara.

Xavier, his face grim, tumed to Lily. Was she so unwilling to let go of Terence? His jaw tightened.
"Just ask about the process for now," Tamara said. "When she finds her rhythm, going through the process will be
much faster."
Tamara was efficient but never hasty. She looked at Lily with a reassuring smile, "You're not an impulsive person.
As long as you're patient and steady, you'll do well Mom believes in you."
"Thank you, Mom" Lily didn't have tto feel touched. She was just eager to get this hot potato’ off her hands.
"From now on, Lily will be a great designer, truly bringing glory to the Fulton family!" Edith exclaimed, delighted.
"Remember, in our Fulton family, we don't follow the man's lead; it's the women who lead the men!"
Sarah clenched her fists under the table. Lily didn't deserve to lead Xavier around! Xavier wasn't the type of man
to let anyone control him! She was the one who could fight alongside Xavier, the one he truly needed!
Lily had no desire to lead Xavier. Right now, all she wanted was to divorce him and quickly close the chapter on
these two years of marriage and live a better life. She could sense that Sarah was deliberately steering the
conversation toward her, but since Sarah wasn't gaining anything from it, she chose to ignore her.
