His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 270
Chapter 270
No sooner had Evadne stepped into the hospital room than Jason received a call from Bennett.
“Mr. Bennett.”
“Jason! As Evadne’s assistant, how could you not report her whereabouts to us immediately?”
Bennett began interrogating, “Why are you and Evadne at Elmsworth Second Hospital now? Is she there to see Thaddeus?” Cassius’s calm voice followed, “Bennett, cool down.”
Actually, Bennett was usually mild–mannered, but anytime Evadne was involved, he would instantly lose his cool.)
Jason was taken aback, blinking in confusion, “Mr. Bennett, how did you know?”
Evadne’s visit to Thaddeus was supposed to be top secret!
“Satellite tracking.”
Cassius sighed helplessly, ‘Bennett is practically using all the tactics for hunting down fugitives, and still can’t keep track of one person?”
Jason was silent.
“Calm down, Bennett. You know Evadne well enough, no amount of scolding or shouting will make her come back obediently.”
Cassius seemed to have accepted the situation, saying nonchalantly, “We’re all adults here, let her do as she pleases.”
“I’ll immediately dispatch a security team to surround the hospital, hands–on at the door of the ward. Jason, it’s going to be a long night for you. If that beast Thaddeus does anything evil to Evadne, you tell me immediately.”
“Yes, Mr. Bennett!” Jason could feel the pressure from the young colonel, standing at attention.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBennett was furious, his voice full of chilling intimidation, “If Thaddeus dares to lay a finger on my baby sister, he won’t be able to leave that hospital in this lifetime!”
Evadne agreed to stay with him, Thaddeus happily took his medicine and applied his ointment.
The hospital’s dinner was bland and unappealing.
But with Evadne by his side, Thaddeus was enjoying every bite, feeling like the simple meal was the best thing he’d eaten in years.
Seeing Thaddeus wolfing down his food as if he hadn’t eaten in days, Evadne decided to order something for herself as a late–night snack.
She managed to finish the unappetizing meal, sticking to her principle of not wasting food.
“You should eat more nourishing foods, like clam chowder or some beef and vegetable stew,” she suggested casually.
“Can
you
make it for me?” Thaddeus asked, looking at her hopefully.
“I’ve cooked for you plenty of times before, but you never seemed to care.”
Evadne scoffed, pushing her meal tray aside and picking up her pajamas and toiletries to head to the bathroom, “Alva is a pretty good cook, you can ask her to make it for you.” The bathroom door slammed shut.
Thaddeus swallowed hard, tasting the bitterness of regret.
It turned out that starting from scratch and trying to reclaim everything he’d lost was much harder than he’d thought.
Evadne emerged from the bathroom wearing a peach–colored silk nightgown. Her skin was soft and smooth, looking fresh and radiant even without makeup. Her features seemed more innocent and pure without the sophisticated makeup she usually wore.
She looked more like an eighteen–year–old than a twenty–four–year–old.
Thaddeus found his heartbeat quickening, his gaze fixated on her.
“What are you looking at? Have you never seen a bare face before?” Evadne spritzed some moisturizing spray on her face, finding the room quite dry.
“I’ve seen it, quite often in fact.”
Thaddeus swallowed hard, forcing himself to calm down, “It’s just seeing you like this brought back memories.”
“Your gaze was filled with nostalgia? I didn’t see that,” Evadne mocked coldly, settling down on the couch,
Thaddeus was at a loss for words.
She had a knack for throwing sharp words without resorting to vulgarity.
When she targeted him, it was a whole new level of skill.
“Cross my line, and you’re dead.”
Evadne laid down on the couch, wearing a silk eye mask and pulling a blanket over herself, getting comfortable.
“Sleeping now.”
“Come sleep in the bed.” Thaddeus suggested gently.
“Thaddeus, we’re divorced. Are you still dreaming about sharing a bed with your ex–wife? Are you asking for trouble?” Evadne asked iclly.
“No, no, you
misunderstood.”
Thaddeus couldn’t help but laugh bitterly, “I was offering to give you the bed.”

He dared not say another word. He had finally managed to convince her to stay and he couldn’t afford to ruin this moment.
The lights were turned off, and the room was peaceful.
Thaddeus couldn’t sleep, he just laid on his side, stealing glances at Evadne.
Even with her back to him and her face hidden, she looked beautiful under the soft moonlight, like a perfectly sculpted statue.
“Still looking at me? Keep looking and I’ll leave.” Evadne suddenly spoke, as if she had eyes in the back of her head.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb your rest.” Thaddeus’s heart skipped a beat.
How careful and cautious he had become, living in fear and humility.
“No it’s just that your breathing pattern is different when you’re asleep. I can tell whether you’re asleep or not in an instant.” They both fell silent.
Evadne felt a twinge of pain in her heart, she curled up on the couch, clutching her nightgown tightly.
She was angry at herself.
How desperate and low she must have been to know every little detail about this man.
Thaddeus’s eyes widened in surprise, a wave of guilt washing over him. The air in the dark room seemed to thin, making it hard for him to breathe.
For the past three years, he had been sleeping peacefully every night.
But what about Evadne? How did she make it through those lonely, desolate nights.
“Evadne, I was indeed an asshole.” After a while, he apologized again, his voice hoarse and low.
“Let it go, it’s all in the past. I just hope we don’t repeat the same mistakes.”
“Evadne, I’m serious”
Evadne closed her eyes, gently laughing to cut him off, “If you were ever fond of me, it would’ve happened a long time ago, why wait until now? Even if you’ve suddenly developed feelings for me, it’s just because your taste has changed. I’m no fool. How can I take your fieeting passion às some kind of solemn vow?”
