His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode
His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 394
Chapter 394
Among the entire Ashbourne family, only Evadne and Elvis had the audacity to speak so recklessly.
The b*dyguards couldn’t help but chuckle, which only added to Avery’s embarrassment!
Thaddeus raised an eyebrow quietly. The usually polite and composed Mr. Chambers was gradually losing his cool.
It would be hypocritical to say that there was no satisfaction In this.
“I’m just here to check on Evadne. Does Elvis have to be so abrasive?” Avery’s bespoke suit could not hide his anger, his chest rising and falling with each breath. “Then say you’re here to see Evadne. Why bring Emeric into this?”
Elvis‘ disdain was evident as he coldly looked at Avery, “He’s not your dad, and we’re not kid anymore. Such words are embarrassing.”
Avery’s eyebrows furrowed, his face became darkened.
But Avery was no ordinary man. He had gone through many hardships during his youth in Helgen, which had shaped his fiexible character.
He quickly adjusted his mentality, pleading softly, “Elvis, I didn’t mean anything else. I’m just worried about her. I heard she’s been hurt, and I just wanted to see how she’s doing.”
“Our family has kept this under wraps. It’s impressive how quickly you got wind of it, Mr. Chambers. It seems you’re always keeping tabs on us, the Ashbourne family.” Elvis narrowed his clear eyes, his words filled with sarcasm, “But Evadne is still recovering, and the doctor has advised against any stress. She can’t see you. Please leave.” Avery was unwilling to accept it, “Elvis.”
“Oh, one more thing. Even if you bring Emeric, you won’t be able to see her. Don’t bother.”
Elvis grinned at Thaddeus, “Thad, let’s go.”
Thad?
Thaddeus felt a strange sensation when Elvis addressed him so cordially.
He felt a chill down his spine.
“What are you waiting for? Let’s go!” Elvis slapped Thaddeus‘ back.
“Alright, brother–in–law.” The man replied casually.
Elvis raised an eyebrow.
Once he got used to this vibe between them. It was actually quite enjoyable.
Especially when Thaddeus called him in that way, he found it quite pleased.
Avery felt a pang in his heart, his face turning pale.
-He didn’t know what had happened in the past few days, and he had no idea how Thaddeus had managed to win over Elvis, someone he himself had failed to do so!
Suddenly, Elvis stopped, “Mr. Chambers, you should know that nothing forcibly done is going to be agreeable. Some things and people are not yours no matter how hard you try. Besides, you already have a beautiful woman by your side, who must be your type. Otherwise you wouldn’t keep her close, right?”
Avery gasped, his fists clenched, his heart pounding!
With red eyes, he watched as Elvis and Thaddeus disappeared into the corridor. The invisible fiames were about to consume him!
“Mr. Chambers.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe oppressive aura of the son of the Ashbourne family was too strong. He was now sweating profusely, anxiously asking, “What did Mr. Waverley mean by that? The- ‘beautiful woman‘ he mentioned, is he referring to Ms. Archer?”
Who else could it be!
But what worried Avery more was that Elvis already knew there was a woman in Elmsworth who bore a striking resemblance to Evadne, and this woman was right by his
side!
“Did Elvis see me when Elsie went to the bar that night?” Avery asked, his eyes darkening.
“Well, I remember you saying that the bar was low, so you didn’t go in to find Ms. Archer. Also, you never left your car, so how could he see you?”
Harvey quickly replied, “Mr. Chambers, could it be because of your car? The license plate can easily be traced back to the Chambers Group. Maybe he’s trying to provoke you and just bluffing?”
‘Let’s go.” Avery gritted his teeth and turned around.
“Mr. Chambers, where are you going?”
The Velvet Haven.”
Thaddeus and Elvis were at the entrance to Evadne’s hospital room.
“Thanks for earlier.” A tinge of sincerity laced in Thaddeus‘ tone.
‘No need to thank me. Consider it a return gift for the way how you call me. Besides, I wasn’t just helping you out. I know how to put Avery in his place, and the best way to do that is to use you.” Elvis couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of Avery’s shocked face.
“It’s fine. I don’t mind.” Thaddeus moved his thin l*ps.
‘I really can’t stand that Chambers guy. He’s always riding on others‘ coattails. Bringing up Emeric was uncalled for. Who does he think he is? I hate people who are not aboveboard and like to play dirty tricks. He may look decent, but his actions leave much to be desired. No wonder the Chambers family doesn’t think highly of him.”
Turning to Thaddeus, Elvis teased, “You know, you should be thankful for the contrast he provides, get it?”
So what’s the conclusion?
He should thank the Chambers guy?
“Mr. Waverley.”
A weak voice came from behind them.
Both of them turned around, and were shocked, “Jason?!”
Just a few steps away, Jason was hobbling towards them. His one arm was in a cast and the other was leaning on a crutch.
Thaddeus‘ pupils contracted. Quick to react, he strode to his side to support him.
“Thanks, Mr. Abernathy,” Jason pressed his l*ps.
“Think nothing of it. I should be the one thanking you for protecting Evadne,” Thaddeus replied, his tone casual but his voice carried a hint of deep emotion.
“Mr. Abernathy, you don’t need to thank me, Protecting Miss Ashbourne is my duty,” Jason said, his gaze steady.
Even if he had to go through it all over again, he would do it. No regrets.
After this crisis, Jason’s attitude towards Thaddeus eased a bit. After all, he once again saved Miss Ashbourne’s life.
“Jason! Are you trying to lose your arm? Who the hell told you to get up?!”
Elvis lost his temper, “Do you know you almost lost your arm? Cassius has specially picked up the most illustrious surgeon in the country by fiight to do bone grafting for you for two days, and finally fixed your arm. Just keep in mind, even if you don’t care about the arm, think of what Cassius has done for you.”
“Mr. Waverley.”
“If you still don’t listen, I’ll call your parents to come and watch over you!” Elvis wasn’t kidding. He always meant what he said.
Upon hearing the words, Jason broke into cold sweat, “Mr.. Waverley, I’m worrying about Miss Ashbourne. While I was in a coma, I kept dreaming about what happened that night. Can I see Miss Ashbourne now?”
“She’s fine. The wound on her arm has already been taken care of, and there are no other injury. Except she feels kind of low. She needs time to calm herself. She needs to be alone.” Elvis sighed.
Thaddeus thought of Evadne’s knife wound and a bitter taste filled his mouth.
They’ve divorced for a year. He felt she kept getting hurt and had never really lived a peaceful life.
He thought he was useless.
He had risked his life for her, so what? He was still a trash for not protecting her well.
“I heard about Erica.”
Jason referred to the girl who took a bullet for Evadne, his heart throbbing with sorrow, “Has there been any news about that beast?”
“It wouldn’t take long. I’ve been keeping an eye on Elspeth and Glynnis‘ movements closely. Elspeth went out tonight, probably meeting Ward. I believe my men should bring back the news soon.”
Thaddeus‘ eyes fiickered with ruthlessness, “Rest assured, I want to see him die more than anyone else. I’ve looked into him. He’s killed not only Erica. It could be said that he’s full of iniquities. The reason why he’s able to safely stay at Elspeth’s side is because Elspeth has eliminated all the crimes he made.
“Elspeth is quite a character. It’s really a pity for prostituting her talent by only being your stepmom.”
Elvis said sarcastically, “Your family is more like a bandit’s den.”
Jason shook his head, “It’s more like a spider’s web, a den of thieves.”
“I’ll have to thank Elspeth if I’m able to meet her tomorrow.” Elvis made an insinuating remarks.
Thaddeus furrowed, “Thank her?”
“Evadne has been married to you for three years and spent that amount of time in the Abernathy family. Thank her for not giving any life threat to Evadne.” Elvis surely had a sharp tongue.
Back then, when they were in the force, he was someone quite taciturn. It seemed that he just faked it.
Just then, the door to the room opened, startling the three men.
Evadne had changed out of her hospital gown and was back in her usual black suit. She didn’t wear any makeup, and yet her beauty was still breathtaking. “Evadne?!”
“Miss Ashbourne!”
Thaddeus stared at her helplessly, his ears strikingly red, his heart pounding.
He slightly moved his l*ps, almost calling out her name, yet he didn’t have the courage.
At that time, it was tempestuous. It was reasonable for him to get closer to her, but now, what reason would there be?
“Jason, are you okay?” Evadne lay her gloomy gaze on Jason’s left shoulder, her voice choked with emotion.
“I’m fine, Miss Ashbourne.”
Jason tried to lift his arm to show her but failed. He let out a discomforted grin, “Don’t worry. It won’t take long till I fully recover, and then I’ll come back to work for you.” “When your arm is recovered, there’s no need to stay with me as a secretary.”
“Miss Ashbourne, are you going to fire me?”
Jason’s l*ps trembling, he stumbled over to Evadne, “Do you think I’m bogging you down? I admit I’m not good at fighting skills. But please give me another chance, and I’ll learn the skill to protect you!”

gave a bitter smile, “I’m going to be taking over my brother’s position at the K Group. I want you to become the head of the legal department there, so you can exert your specialty. You can still help me and my dad. Don’t you think it’s a good idea?”
If it was someone else, they might be over the moon upon hearing the arrangement.
But Jason looked as if he had just been abandoned, like a homeless puppy kicked out by its owner.
In his eyes, Evadne didn’t want to use him.
She never realized what he really wanted.
He desired to be by her side for as long as it took.
However, after what happened last time, he thought he couldn’t protect her anymore.
The person who was able to protect her was no one else.
At the thought of this, Jason gazed at Thaddeus, his eyes welling up in tears.
Meanwhile, Thaddeus was staring at Evadne, unable to take his eyes off her.
No matter when, no matter where, as long as Evadne was present, Thaddeus only had eyes for her.
“Anyway, the most important thing right now for you is to get better.”
1
Evadne cleared her emotions, revealing a long–lost radiant smile, “I need you to come back in one piece. The K Group can’t afford to keep a freeloader,”
Jason could tell that she had made up her mind, so he could only nod heavily.
“Elvis, is Erica’s b*dy still in the morgue?” Evadne turned to Elvis, her voice hoarse.
“Yes. We informed her grandmother yesterday, and we’ve picked her up to Elmsworth to claim the b*dy.”
Elvis looked gloomy, “Her grandmother begged us to seek justice for Erica.”
“We need to give Erica a dignified funeral. Plus, we must give comfort to the family: Her grandmother may not ask for anything, but we have to think of everything and fulfill all her needs.”
“I understand. Don’t worry.”
Elvis looked at her in surprise, “Are you planning on leaving the hospital? Cassius strictly forbade you from leaving the hospital. If you leave, he’ll blame me!”
“Lying here every day, watching the sunrise and sunset, is meaningless. Has the phone been repaired?”
Evadne suddenly changed the subject, startling Elvis, “Uh? Yeah, it’s been repaired. But I’m not the one who fixed it.”
“Who did then?” Evadne’s eyebrows knitted together.
1
“Aaron. Erica’s phone is evidence, so it had to be sent to the evidence department for repairs. However, he told me last night that it should be fixed by today.”
Evadne’s gaze darkened as she walked straight up to Thaddeus and looked him in the eyes.
Thaddeus was scorched by her gaze, his heart skipping a beat. His fingers curled into her palm and held on tight.
“Thaddeus, come with me to the police station.”
There was a powerful force in Evadne’s eyes, as if she was trying to see right through his soul, making it impossible for him to resist, “We both need to cooperate with the investigation. Besides, there’s something important I need to tell you.”
