I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World
Chapter 176 - Dangerous Head Pats"That's right. I can understand what the older wolf-girl is saying." Albion admitted casually with a nod.
Nevertheless, he was also surprised, albeit not as much as the two little girls.
'Basic-level Hundred Beast Language, huh? It's quite convenient," he mused while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
He would not have to worry about the language barrier—at least, from his side.
"Release us at once, you hairless monkey! How dare you capture this dog-aunt! If my men were here, I'd have them dismember you and feast on your blood and flesh!" The elder wolf-girl threatened.
Albion furrowed his brows.
He was not sure if it was mistranslation due to his Basic-level Hundred Beast Language not being high enough, but as much as he was annoyed, he was also amused that the wolf girl calls herself a dog-aunt.
The older wolf-girl was only around 20 years of age—still far from being regarded as an aunt, let alone a dog.
As for the younger one, she appeared to be around 13 years of age.
"Boss, this wolf-girl is so scary. She keeps howling so aggressively…"
"Yeah! Wouldn't she bite us if we try to pat her head?"
Little Wuxin and Sally were both intimidated by the wolf-girl's incessant howls.
"Forget about biting. She might just swallow the both of you whole if you try to pat her," Albion joked with a soft chuckled.
However, his joke was anything but funny when the two little girls heard it as they shrank their necks and retreated from the cage slightly in fear.
"Fell flat, huh?" Albion muttered before shaking his head and glanced at the other wolf-girl, "Anyway, the younger one seems more tamed. Maybe there's a chance of patting it."

"Grrr—!"
The younger wolf-girl immediately backed off into the corner of the cage and growled with alarm before she suddenly pounced forward and bite on his arm.
"Ahhh!"
Wuxin and Sally cried.
However, Albion's suffered no damage due to his powerful body as his expression remained placid like still water without ripples.
On the other hand, the young wolf-girl released her bite with a whimpering cry after hurting her jaws.
"Little sister! Dammit, you hairless monkeys! How dare you bully this dog-aunt's little sister! I swear I will kill you if I ever get out of this goddamn cage!" The older wolf-girl howled.
Albion glanced over and casually said, "As you can see, I didn't do anything. It was your little sister that attacked me and hurt herself in the process."
"Hah? What did you say? Are you taunting me!? If you're brave, stick your arm in my cage instead! I'll show you who's boss then, hmph!"
The older wolf-girl did not understand Albion's words at all and mistook it for something provocative.
"Well, if you say so," Albion shrugged.
He was not one to shy away from a challenge.
After retracting his arm from the younger wolf-girl's cage, he placed it inside of the older wolf-girl's cage.
Snap!
The older wolf-girl did not hesitate and immediately went in for the bite—only for her cry to be heard shortly after!
"What in the f—ow, ow, this dog-aunt's jaws are broken! Damn, hairless monkey! How can your skin be so tough?!"
The older wolf-girl rubbed her sore jaws in shock.
"Hah, you asked for it."
Albion grinned with amusement.
Shortly after, he extended his arm further to reach the wolf-girl in the cage before she snarled, "Keep your filthy hands off this dog-aunt, you hairless monk—Ooh… This feels…nice…."
The wolf-girl quickly felt relaxed with a tingling sensation of extreme comfort from Albion's head pats and soft scratches.
Her fluffy tail began wagging, and her judgment seemed clouded as if she was being brought into another world.
"Hm? Why did you stop? This princess permits you to continue—?!" The wolf-girl slowly paused before she suddenly retreated with wide eyes in alarm.
"Hah, that was close! This princess nearly fell for your trick, hairless monkey! Speak! What kind of sorcery are you trying to cast on this princess?!"
"It was just normal head pats and scratches, though?" Albion shrugged nonchalantly.
Nevertheless, his words could not be understood.
The older wolf-girl refused to let Albion's hand come close to her head again, viewing it as an extremely dangerous thing despite how comforting and relaxing it felt.
"Vile thing! Trying to brainwash this princess?! Hmph!" The wolf-girl snorted as if she had seen through Albion's tricks.
He could only smile wryly.
Unless he could speak the wolf-girl's language or get her to understand the human language, she will continue to be guarded against him.

…
Throughout the exchange with the wolf-girls, he had been receiving notifications of his increasing proficiency in the Basic-level Hundred Beast Language.
'Is this some sort of new feature, Goldfinger?' Albion asked.
[No, the proficiency feature has always been around and running in the background. Goldfinger just never revealed to the host.]
Goldfinger answered.
'Oh? Why the sudden change?' Albion continued to ask.
[Goldfinger has come to understand that humans will become lazy when their efforts bear no fruits. But if they can monitor their progress, they will be motivated to work harder.]
Goldfinger explained.
'Well, you aren't wrong,' Albion agreed.
He definitely felt like working harder after seeing all the +1 proficiency, even if it was infinitesimal of the required amount to upgrade a skill or talent.
As Goldfinger said, people did not like working hard towards something if their efforts produce zero changes—just like studying.
If he felt like he could not learn anything from studying, he would not study—Ahem, he was definitely not making an excuse to not study.
…
While Albion interacted with Goldfinger, Little Wuxin and Sally watched his expression undergo peculiar changes without rhythm nor reason.
"The boss is at it again, Sally. Do you think he is okay?"
"I'm not sure… Do you think it's a type of disorder, Wuxin?"
Little Wuxin and Sally quietly whispered to each other.
