"Our legends are fake, God of Rain." The God of Desert spoke.
There was silence for a few seconds before the God of Rain said, "So, what are you going to do about it?"
"Give up everything?"
"What?" The God of Desert was surprised by her retort.
"As you said, our past doesn't exist. It's actually fabricated. Or to be more accurate, we were nothing but the figment of someone's dream before then before being brought to reality." The God of Rain spoke, "And that someone is Compass Carburettor."
"The God of Humanity."
"Compass Carburettor..." The God of Desert muttered, "So that's his name. No wonder I found it weird that the God King called him Compass instead of the God of Humanity."
"Strange, I feel like I know of this from somewhere…" The God of Desert frowned, experiencing a headache, "Sheesh, what the heck is happening?"
"Do you…" The God of Rain asked slowly, "Do you dream?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure if you could call it a dream. But recently, I had something that you can call as…" The God of Desert muttered, "Visions?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"What were the visions about?"
"It was something about me forming a group of vagabonds that roamed a desert and gave provisions such as food, water, blankets, and even camels to travellers braving through the desert." The God of Desert said, "It was very vague. But these visions don't have much clarity."
"I had these…visions too." The God of Rains commented, "In my case, I was the leader of a dam that created a pipeline system and installed water towers throughout a region where they would sprinkle water out in regular intervals in famine regions."
"Is that…?" The God of Desert frowned suddenly, "Your actions were similar to bringing rain to those famine regions."
"And your actions were a blessings to those weary travellers that had prepared for death in the vast desert." The God of Rain nodded, "Yes, that's your actual past."
"When we were a figment of that person's dream, this was what we did. And when his dream became a reality, our actions became our legend." She spoke.
"So, that means…" The God of Desert sighed.
"Yes, you're right." The God of Rain nodded, "Our past doesn't seem real, but it happened. We indeed did everything in our memories, but it didn't happen in this world, but in the dream of Compass Carburettor."
"He's our past. We were birthed out of the atoms forming his essence and from there, we grew in his dreams." The God of Rain said, "And now, we are all real and have become the symbol of our actions."
"He's our actual creator. And now, without our support, he's about to die." The God of Rain said, her voice choking in response, "I won't be able to forgive myself if I don't support him now."
"How…can we do that?" The God of Desert sighed, "We cannot leave our domains. And my Saint isn't strong enough to even break through Peddler's barrier, not to mention take part in the fight. Even the attacks of the God of Humanity didn't manage to put a scratch on the God King."
"We pray." The God of Rain said, "He's our deity, so we pray towards him."
"I see," The God of Desert said as he closed his eyes, no longer speaking as he joined his hands and offered a prayer.
Immediately, a tinge of faith, minute in volume, but something special flowed from him and entered the God of Humanity.
Divine Faith!
The God of Rain managed to convince a couple dozen Deities by now as a thin stream of divine faith flowed into the God of Humanity.
"Farewell, Compass." Arnark said as he clenched his hand into a fist, intending to deal the final blow to the bloody figure of Compass Carburettor, "I'll become unrivalled in the multiverse after this."
Boom!
His hand came down with thundering momentum and slammed into Compass Carburettor's head, splattering it into bits of pieces, causing his twitching body to come to an abrupt halt.
"Ha…haha…hahaha!" Arnark roared in laughter, having finally defeated his opponent. "I won, you fucker!"
"The greatest Main Character? Main Character, my foot! Your growth was only thanks to my recognition. At one time, you threatened me, but not anymore." He then stared around, glaring at the Saints with ravenous gluttony, "Now, to reap the fruits of my labour."
"Lore, Tell-Tale, come to me!"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmArnark raised his hand into the sky, intending to receive the prize of the contest, frowning a moment later to see no signs of stirrup from the laws of the world. A moment later, he smiled wryly, slapping the back of his head, "It seems I was bested."
"There's still Peddler, Invader, Beast God, and even Essencer in this world. Only after killing them all would I win. Right," He laughed, "Me and Compass were the main characters. But these four side characters too are part of the contest."
He stared at the barrier before facing the Saint dispatched by Peddler, "Well, you're next. Clean your neck and be ready. I'll be there in a jiffy…"
…
"Man, what a mess." Peddler massaged his throbbing forehead, "How the heck did that guy lose?"
"Did he become arrogant in the end?" He muttered, "No, that's not in his nature. No matter how arrogant he becomes, he also embodies my nature of survival."
"So, he wouldn't be taken out of the picture so quickly." He tapped his chin, intending to think of his subsequent course of actions when suddenly, a terrifying aura burst out of Inron, rivalling that of Invaderon as a minute later, Inron began to accelerate, rapidly approaching their continent.
"Man, I don't have a moment's time to rest." Peddler sighed, his shoulders slumped, "Is it that difficult to survive these days?"
"Back in my days, things were less stressful." He stared at his Spirits, "Be prepared for war."
"Our victory or defeat will depend on your actions." He then stared at two Spirits, "The both of you are responsible for controlling our undead army."
"Yes, Your Lordship!" The Spirits bowed in response and hurried towards their respective stations while Peddler observed the figure of Inron, watching it touch the shore as immediately, all the believers and undead creatures alike rushed out in droves.
"So, it came to an all-out war in the end."
