Chapter 89: An Angry Reunion
Noah struggled to break from the man’s grip, but to no avail. His arms were too strong; it was evident that the man had a large physique. She squinted her eyes, hoping to get a glimpse of her surroundings, but it was pointless in the pitch black room. She grappled with all her strength and yet she couldn’t overpower him still. It was not long before she was consumed with fear.
“Shh.”
Just as she was about to explode in tears, a deep voice whispered in her ears. Noah twisted her body, her eyes opening wide. The tears that brimmed her eyes, finally trickled down her cheeks. At the same time, her body, which almost collapsed to the ground, was hoisted up.
Her hands fumbled across the man’s face, feeling his features — a sharp jawline, dry cheeks, slightly chapped lips and a pointed nose. As she groped his nose, a sigh escaped his lips.
“Then I’ll poke you in the eye. Miss Noah.”

Noah clenched her hand into a fist and tried to punch Kyle in the shoulder, but she landed on his hand instead.
“Shh, I’ll get it later.”
Kyle placed his hand on the back of her head and pulled it towards his arms. Just in time, footsteps resounded outside the door. Noah buried her face in his shoulders, holding her breath.
The sound of footsteps suddenly stopped. Her heart was still beating fast, but it was gradually regaining its stability with Kyle softly patting her back. She felt somehow relieved, fear no longer swallowing her, and rationality returned to her senses.
Suddenly, there was a faint noise of a metal hitting something. It must have been the scrap Muell brought with him. The sound of footsteps were heard again, which stopped shortly after a few minutes right next to the room they hid.
There was a patter, and a slight tremor vibrated on the floor. It seemed the huge iron door in the mana operating room opened. Someone entered through the door, followed by the sound of the iron door closing again.
The room was dead silent once more.
“How much time has passed?” Kyle broke the silence, exhaling deeply. “I was a little worried if I could come back up, but fortunately you came.” A big hand rested on Noah’s head. Then, he stroked it a couple of times.
“Since when have you been here?” Noah asked with a hoarse voice.
“From the evening. How long has it been? I couldn’t confirm because my watch was broken.”
“…Half a day has passed.”
“It’s been longer than I thought. Has the ship stopped yet? I broke a mana vessel along its handle out of fear of an explosion.”
“…It stopped. That’s why I came down right away.”

The way he spoke was as if he hadn’t been trapped under the ship for a long time. Kyle shifted his torso, and then, after a moment’s rustling, the lamp turned on. The pitch black space glowed in an orange color. Only then Noah could see his face properly.
It was not much different from the last time she saw him. Only that his hair was a little disheveled and there was a small scratch on the bottom of his left eye.
“Have you had dinner?”
“…You’re asking me if I had dinner in this situation?” Noah gritted her teeth, and successfully landed a punch on his shoulder this time.
“Ah.” Kyle gave a dull groan as if for courtesy. It was aggravating, so Noah pulled her knee up and hit him hard somewhere on his stomach. Kyle frowned as if it had worked a little this time. “It hurts. Why do you take it out on me?”
“Why are you so calm?” She hissed, grabbing him by the chin, and flipped his head from side to side. There were no other wounds except the cut under his eyes.
“Are you hurt? I was worried!”
“Worried…”
Kyle, whose chin still rested on her fingers, wore a strange look on his face. Either way, Noah breathed a sigh of relief after she confirmed that all his arms were still intact
