Chapter 133

Chapter 133. Boss Room
After leaving the room where we got ambushed by monsters, we continued down the corridor until we finally reached our destination.
Just like before, we saw a door waiting for us at the dead-end of the corridor.
However, this time it was different: the door had a unique shape and atmosphere.
There was a blue orb placed on a pedestal next to it.
“This feeling… I’ve seen it somewhere before.”
“Yeah, it reminds me of a boss room.”
Both Yuzuki and Kazane-san seemed to share the same impression. However, Aria-san was puzzled by their comments.
“A boss room…? I’ve never heard of such a thing before.”
Kazane-san asked if she had any experience with such places, and Aria-san explained that while there were dungeons in this world, those filled with mysterious mechanisms like this one were rare.
Even experienced adventurers had little exploration experience with them.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe also mentioned that they used the term dungeon was used broadly, encompassing places like the cave inhabited by orcs.
To distinguish them, more elaborate dungeons like this referred to a narrow sense dungeons.
“In any case, it’s best to assume that a boss is waiting ahead. Let’s plan accordingly.”
And so, a strategy meeting began.
However, the situation was quite risky.
There was no information about the boss’s characteristics or strengths.
Facing a boss monster without knowing anything about it was like walking into the unknown.
Nevertheless, they had no choice but to proceed.
To escape this dungeon, they had to overcome whatever challenge awaited them.
A certain premonition lingered in Kazane-san’s mind.
Based on the flow of events and the experience points gained from previous missions, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the boss we were about to face wouldn’t be unbeatable.
It was more of a gut feeling.
After a thorough strategy discussion, we were ready to proceed.
Kazane-san touched the orb on behalf of the group, and the stone door opened with a resounding sound.
The room beyond the door was dimly lit. It gradually became brighter as we stepped inside and moved forward.
The boss room was as large as a gymnasium, just like before.
As they advanced towards the center, the door behind them closed.
They had confirmed that the return teleportation jewel wouldn’t work.
There was no retreat: we were fully committed now.
At the far end of the room was another door, and in front of it stood a giant stone statue.
The stone statue was humanoid, but its height was enough to make us look up, and it was twice my height to the top of its head.
It held a massive weapon with a long halberd-like shape in its hand.
The creature’s eyes sparkled, and it marched forward with heavy footsteps.
It was probably still in the middle of its entrance scene.
“[Monster Appraisal] results are in! The monster’s name is Stone Golem! It has 750 HP, 65 Attack, 135 Defense, 25 Agility, and 35 Magic! Its special ability is [Two Slash]! And it seems it also has an invincible state!”
Yuzuki reported.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHer report brought both good and bad news.
The good news was that, as I had anticipated, the boss’s overall strength wasn’t something we couldn’t handle.
Its stats were slightly higher than the boss Demon Flower we fought in the Forest Floor. Demon’s Flower had 450 HP, 55 Attack, 75 Defense, 30 Agility, and 35 Magic.
That’s if I recall correctly.
The bad news was that this boss appeared to be quite “tough”.
Compared to Demon Flower, its HP, and Defense were significantly higher.
Well, its appearance alone indicated it was tough.
The invincible state meant that attacks would be ineffective during the boss’s entrance scene.
But it should get lifted once the battle officially started.
Of course, that was under the assumption that this boss operated according to the same rules as bosses in our world.
We began casting support magic during the boss’s entrance scene.
I used [Protection], Kazane-san used [Quickness], and Yuzuki applied [Fire Weapon], prioritizing our buffs accordingly.
As for Aria-san, she didn’t possess any support magic of that sort.
Eventually, the giant stone statue halted its steps, and it swung its halberd-like weapon above its head, holding it with both hands.
“The ‘invincible state’ is over!”
“Here it comes!”
The battle began, and the four of us simultaneously unleashed the attack magic we had prepared toward the stone statue.
