Staring out the carriage window, the man, whose attire one could tell was expensive from a single glance, replied.

“Is there any other decent method?”

“One that the Young Lady would really like…”

“The matter of whether she likes it or not is an issue to think about later. After all, this is all for her sake.”

The man scoffed and continued. “And we’ve already come this far. There’s no going back now.”

That was true.

Before they knew it, they were almost at their destination. It was too late to turn the carriage around. The maid was aware of this, so she meekly shut her mouth.

The carriage grew quiet. The man urged the coachman without reason.

“Coachman! Can we go faster?”

“I will try, Young Master.”

The scenery outside the window passed by a little faster and the carriage shook harder.

‘Wait for me, Yelena. I swear I will…’

The man’s eyes settled with determination as he looked out the window.

“We will conclude your morning check-ups here.”

It had been 10 days since the kidnapping incident.

At last, Dockter spoke the words Yelena waited and waited to hear.

Yelena almost shouted for joy but she held it in.

“You’ve worked hard. Starting today, you don’t need to follow the advice I had given you.”

“That means I can go outside, right?”

“Yes.”

“And I don’t have to light the candles that are good for my mental and physical stability when I sleep?”

“No.”

“I don’t have to sleep alone anymore, right?”

That was the most important question.

“Right.”

‘Finally!’

This was the second reason that no matter how hard Yelena tried, she just couldn’t like Dockter.

Dockter had advised her to sleep alone for ‘absolute stability,’ which was plain nonsense.

‘Starting tonight, I can sleep with my husband again!’

She was unable to share a bed with Kaywhin for the past several days.

She was forced to leave her perfectly well husband behind and live a life of solitude.

But that was over with now.

Yelena gave a generous smile to the person she had almost hated for a period of time, just for today.

“Dockter, you also worked hard.”

“No, not at all.”

“I won’t forget your hard work.”

There were two meanings to her words.

For reference, Yelena’s grudges were not short-lived.

Dockter felt a mysterious chill and rubbed his arms.

That night.

Yelena lay in bed with Kaywhin, clutching her beating chest.

Her husband’s face was right there when she turned over on her side.

She was content.

‘Yes, this is it. This spectacle.’

The bed, which had felt strangely spacious, finally seemed to be the right size.

“How was today’s excursion?” Kaywhin asked.

Yelena had finally gone outside today. She went out to the fief and paid Anna a visit to see how she was doing.

“It was good. I mean, I don’t know what Ben told everyone, but Anna’s a hero now.”

“Is that so?”

“I heard that the children who tried to throw rocks at her in the past now go to her and give her food. Goodness.”

They were already trying to look good in front of Anna’s family, even before the opening of the herbal medicine dispensary.

“That’s good.”

“My thoughts exactly.”

Lying on her side, she quietly gazed into Kaywhin’s eyes.

“…”

What was this feeling?

Her lips itched.

She felt as if she shouldn’t let this silence carry on for longer.

For some reason, she felt as if she had to hurry and say something, anything.

Yelena blinked fussily and then spoke.

“…You’ve been busy lately, haven’t you?”

“No, I haven’t been very busy.”

“Lies. I heard everything. You live inside your study, except for when you eat your meals.”

Her husband was always someone who spent a lot of time in his study, almost like a ghost haunting it.

“Is there more work to do?” Yelena asked without realizing that it sounded like she was worried about him.

Kaywhin hesitated and then replied. “…It’s nothing much. There are some matters I need to take care of, but once I settle them, things will feel like how they did before.”

“You’re saying this is just temporary, right? That’s a relief. Then, we’ll resume your painting lessons after you settle the matters you are busy with.”

Kaywhin’s painting lessons had stopped after only learning the basics of the basics.

If they were to start again, Yelena would probably have to teach him everything from the beginning again. But that didn’t matter. In fact, that would be a good thing.

The painting lessons were just a pretense for her to spend more time with her husband, after all.
