Chapter 798
Sleven shoved Hannah towards the poker table, “Babe, you seem to be on a roll today, why don’t you play and III
just watch”
“I’m supposed to go see the light show with Comelia and Rosie‘ Hannah didn’t want to get involved in the game.
She just wanted to hang out with her friends
Steven wasn’t too keen on Hannah hanging out with Cornelia alone, so he tried to keep her by his side by all means
He didn’t want her out of his sight, Tim having a rotten luck today, so unless you want to see me lose my shirt, you
gotta play”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHannah felt helpless and held all her discontent and struggle within. Rosie didn’t know what to say, so she texted
Cornelia [Should we try to help Hannah bail out?]
Cornelia responded [Steven is super wary of me. He’s afraid I might steal his Hannah. If I step in, he’s definitely not
letting go
Rosie [What should we do then? The glasshouse on the rooftop is the best spot to watch the light show Hannah has
always wished to watch the Riverton light show from there She’d be gutted if she missed it now when the timing
and location are perfect]
Cornelia didn’t want her friend to be upset [ figure something out]
Rosie [What else could you possibly come up with?]
Without answering Rosie, Cornella opened a chat with Jeremy and quickly typed. There’s a light show tonight |
Marcus, engrossed in his game, didn’t bother checking his phone when it pinged With Cornelia by his side, he didn’t
think the message could be from her.
Seeing him ignore his phone, Cornelia nudged him. Marcus, holding his cards in one hand, grabbed her with the
other, “You want to play too?”
Cornelia whispered, “Why aren’t you checking your phone?”
“Did you send me a message?” Marcus assumed she had something awkward to tell him, hence the message. He
quickly pulled out his phone to check.
To his surprise, the message simply read [There’s a light show tonight)
Why couldn’t she tell him that in person? Was there a hidden meaning?
Marcus thought for a moment, “Do you want me to watch the light show with you?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmCornelia, “No.”
Cornelia added, “Hannah was supposed to watch the light show with us, but Steven has her stuck at the poker
table. Can you do something to make Steven let her go?”
Marcus leaned in and whispered, “Cornelia, you shouldn’t meddle in a couple’s affairs.”
Cornelia muttered, “1”
Marcus continued, “Every couple has their own way of dealing with things. How do you know this isn’t their way of
having fun?”
He seemed to make a lot of sense.
The couple had had a little spat today but it wasn’t anything senous. They’d probably kiss and make up by the end
of the night.
