Hiding in the woods was Ke Qi’er, who had been secretly following the two people’s trail.
She was a spy serving under the third prince and had been taught all kinds of skills from playing the piano to the ways of chess to painting to calligraphy. After the third prince had lost his power, she immediately disguised herself as a dancer and infiltrated the royal court. She originally planned to use her charms to attract the Khan’s attention as well as secretly lurk around him to gather crucial information for her master to use for his scheme. However, ever since Hu Luoyan ascended the throne, he had never set a foot inside the harem nor did he ever lay a hand on a beauty. He had never indulged in the pleasures of life. Left with no alternatives, Ke Qi’er could only kill a court lady, take on her identity, and wait for an opportunity to get close.
However, unlike the previous Khans, who had lost themselves in debauchery and women, when Hu Luoyan succeeded the throne, he didn’t have anyone attending to him in the bath nor helping him change his clothes. Ke Qi’er even attempted to seduce him several times but to no avail. After a short while, he also issued orders to cut down the number of palace maids.
Ke Qi’er secretly cursed that maybe this Khan had a problem with his body and that he couldn’t get it up, but since there was nothing else she could do, she could only cup with another plan.
Fortunately, the Khan’s younger brother, Tuoba Hui, was infamous for being a womanizer. Ke Qi’er luckily managed to snag a position as his servant upon his entry to the palace and finally managed to allure Tuoba Hui’s interest, becoming his lover.
She had already notified the third prince of the news that Hu Luoyan had left the palace, and although she didn’t know where he had gone off to, Ke Qi’er believed that it was a good opportunity to make a move. Yet, the third prince still told her to bide her tand patiently stay by Tuoba Hui’s side. In the beginning, Ke Qi’er didn’t think this was necessary, but later on, she realized that her master was truly astute. As a matter of fact, now that Tuoba Hui had also left the palace, it was simply a Godsent opportunity!
Ke Qi’er followed Tuoba Hui out on his journey, closely tailing behind him throughout the entire tand finally caught sight of the Khan, Hu Luoyan, who had mysteriously disappeared for more than a month now, in the relay station.
She immediately passed word of this discovery through a flying messenger pigeon to her master, who had already gathered a large number of troops that were prepared to attack the royal court. She also personally assumed the significant mission of arranging assassins together with the third prince, while she herself captured the brothers, Hu Luoyan and Tuoba Hui, to ask for a reward.
During the sneak attack mounted on the main road, Ke Qi’er noticed something amiss. The soldier leading the troop wasn’t the Khan, but Tuoba Hui. After all, the two had already shared beds several times in the past, so it was impossible for her not to have noticed his little habits.
Ke Qi’er had a bad feeling about this, but in order to guard against the unexpected, she first broke into the most luxurious sedan, where the princess situated in, in the middle of the troops and callously dragged out the woman wearing princess clothes from the inside, tightly binding her up and handing her over to her subordinate. The woman was stricken with endless fear upon seeing her and could only desperately shake her head, looking as though she was a delicate princess who hadn’t been exposed much to the outside world. Ke Qi’er gave her a contemptuous onceover before finding a piece of cloth to stuff her mouth with.
This was the future Khatun. Even if the Khan wasn’t here at this moment, this princess was still a powerful bargaining chip. Ke Qi’er thought this before throwing the dainty princess to her lusty-eyed subordinates without any tender feelings.
This was an unfair world. They were both women, but on what basis did this princess get to live such a free and pampered life, whereas she had to sacrifice her body’s honor and live a life without any purpose?
Ke Qi’er gazed at the princess, who was being ceaselessly molested and groped by her subordinates, her lips inadvertently hooking up into a smirk.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHowever, what she didn’t know was that the real princess had long been switched out, and this woman was merely Bi Luo who was unable to speak due to her pressure point being struck.
As the saying goes, God has a plan for everyone.
To begin with, if Bi Luo didn’t try to conspire to kill Chu Jiao nor did she have the desire to pass off as her master to rise through the ranks, she wouldn’t have had to experience this kind of shand torture on Chu Jiao’s behalf.
Bi Luo laid on the grass in a tense manner, feebly staring at the several filthy and crude hands rushing to peel off her clothes. Her own body was being wantonly assaulted by several people, her first tleaving behind tears of regret.
And on the other side, Ke Qi’er thoroughly searched through the ends of the cavalry and couldn’t find the Khan but discovered two horse hoof prints that deviated away. She internally felt suspicious, and seeing this situation, she decided to trust her sixth sense, pursuing the direction the hoofprints led to.
When the curtain of the night threatened to fall, she finally managed to catch up.
She saw the Khan and a girl, whose face was hard to see, engage in a passionate union in the middle of the fields.
In fear of being caught, Ke Qi’er hid far away, and only when the two had set off once again did she trail them from afar, also arriving at the gully.
If she were alone, she probably wouldn’t have found this place. Ke Qi’er felt more and more that she was incredibly wise, great merit was soon to fall into her hands.
Although she didn’t know who the girl the Khan was treasuring so dearly was, Ke Qi’er looked on with extrenvy. The Khan didn’t even spare a glance at the princess but had protected this girl very closely. Perhaps, if they returned to the imperial palace, she would even be crowned as imperial consort.
How enviable.
Everyone on the prairie knew of Khan Hu Luoyan’s means and strength. As a wise person, Ke Qi’er simply did not dare to strike a stone with an egg(1).
- To invite disaster by overreaching oneself.
However, upon seeing the Khan leave the area to go hunting, Ke Qi’er thought that her thad finally come.
If the two people that the Khan had fancied were to be kidnapped, that would immensely benefit her master! Ke Qi’er excitedly thought to herself, not paying any heed towards the large falcon the Khan had called over.
She had seen it in Tuoba Hui’s place from tto tand just assumed that it was merely a domesticated bird used to send messages. Even though it had sharp talons and a pointy beak, how could it be a match for her, who had been trained since young?
With this in mind, Ke Qi’er crouched down as she slowly approached Chu Jiao’s direction.
And at this moment, Chu Jiao was currently leaning on the stone walls. Her clean back faced the rear, but her eyes were silently opened.
In her head, an ice-cold voice rang a beeping warning noise, alerting her that someone was approaching.
She asked the system in her head, [419, is the female lead approaching?]
419: [….No.]
Ever since she had a slip up in the last world, she no longer restricted the system. Although she would often hear the progress bar notice ring from tto time, making her feel a sense of detachment from her current task, she still thought it was more important to preserve her own life.
[Didn’t you only used to remindwhen the male or female lead would arrive?] Chu Jiao immediately asked in hesitation.
She didn’t feel as terrified as she was at the beginning, when she received the missions, and she wasn’t as careless as she was back then. The her right now had grew mentally stronger and more opinionated after having gone through countless experiences as well as mentally straining situations as a result of someone’s warm indulgence.
[…No, I have always been able to issue warnings for those who approach with malicious intentions, but host has never activated it.] 419 paused for a moment before dryly explaining.
[Oh~ Is that so~] Chu Jiao quietly responded and no longer asked any further questions. However, deep inside, she harbored her doubts.
Was it really because she missed this particular setting of the system? Or, was it because she had always been facing off against the female lead that she didn’t notice this? Why was she also selected by this system? The more she thought about this, the more she felt that the task that the system set for her was impossible to unravel.

Chu Jiao quickly reached for her clothes on the side and covered herself up. At the stime, she fumbled around for the dagger Hu Luoyan had given her and pulled it out of its sheath.
“Who’re you!?”
The moment when Ke Qi’er laid a hand on Chu Jiao’s back, a dagger was pressed against her neck.
“Oh, little beauty, you have quite sskills there.” She dodged away dexterously, easily evading Chu Jiao’s attack and even seizing Chu Jiao’s dagger. Ke Qi’er had not been boasting for nothing, her skills could easily land her in the top ranks amongst the third prince’s soldiers, so how could a weak and delicate Han girl stand a chance against her.
“Screech!” Hui Yu was extremely agile. Hearing the commotion, it immediately flew from Ta Xue’s back and rushed towards Ke Qi’er.
“Hmph, you’re merely a domesticated bird.” Ke Qi’er said with disdain, throwing the dagger towards the large falcon but didn’t expect Hui Yu to dodge it and at the stime, sent a strong gust of wind towards her, its talons readily approaching her.
“Ah!” Ke Qi’er had underestimated the money and was unable to avoid it. Her arm was scratched nastily, her blood seeping out.
“You wretched beast! Die!” She pulled out a soft sword from her waist and aimed it towards the large falcon.
Hui Yu flapped its wings, agilely avoiding her attack, but the forest was dense, whereas its body was huge, making it inconvenient for it to evade her attack. As such, Hui Yu’s feather soon started to fall, which was cut down by Ke Qi’er. However, Ke Qi’er didn’t fare any better than Hui Yi. Her hair had already been clawed into an unrecognizable mess, and what made her even more furious was that her precious face had been pecked ruthlessly, her skin suffering lacerations!
She covered her face, pursuing the large falcon in madness, wishing to chop this dead bird into a tiny million pieces.
“Kree!” Hui Yi couldn’t evade her in tand cried out in pain. For fear that this cry would alert Hu Luoyan to return, Ke Qi’er decided to capture Chu Jiao first, but upon turning her head, Chu Jiao’s figure had already vanished!
“Hey! Cout!” Ke Qi’er grasped her sword, screaming inside the gully like a madman, but alas, no one responded to her.
On the other hand, having caught two rabbits, Hu Luoyan’s heart suddenly clenched, so he hurried back to the gully with the preys in hand.
