Chapter 890: Promise
"What do you mean? What are you trying to imply?" Predictor asked, frowning.
He glared at Lucifer, stunned.
Lucifer didn't respond right away. He just smiled momentarily. "Even though you did it for a reason, you still betrayed us. I can bear anything, but I can't bear betrayal. Since the crime is big, the punishment should be big as well, but you also helped us a few times, so I'll make it easy for you."
"I'll take you out of this place. Let's see if the dream was really a dream or not? I want to see what can kill you? What are you so scared of? It should be interesting. Moreover, it'll also end your curiosity, freeing your mind from shackles."
"If you die, you die. You'll know it wasn't a dream. But if you survive, you'll be free of those shackles that kept you imprisoned here. Not only that, but I'll also let you live if that happens, but only if you step outside of your own volition."
"If you don't go out on your own and I'm forced to take you out myself, even if you survive outside, I'll kill you. And trust me when I say this, I will bloody damn take you outside today, whether you like it or not." Lucifer declared.
"You know, I thought you would've changed after getting your family back; you would've been nicer, but it's nice to see you're still the same old self," Predictor let out, frowning. "A monster like you can never change."
"Oh, I did change. I did feel very happy. I can also feel I've become a bit more accommodating at times, but my core is still the same. You're right; even if you say this, a monster can never change. And I'm a Monster unlike anything anyone ever saw, and I'm destined to be one forever..." Lucifer calmly answered.
"So will you go out on your own, or will I need to force you out?" he asked.
"I..." Predictor hesitated for a moment. No matter what happened, he didn't want to leave. He pulled out a pill from his pocket as Lucifer's back was turned on him and brought it closer to his lips to eat it.

Before the man could even swallow the pill, the pill shot out of the man's hands and flew straight toward Lucifer.
Lucifer raised his hand without even looking back. He grabbed the pill. "With me around, did you really think you should die without my permission?"
Lucifer crushed the pill, letting the powder fall on the ground. "If you wanted to die, you should've done it before I arrived here. Now it's too late. In my presence, I won't let even gods kill you without my permission."
Predictor didn't know, but there were quite a lot of shadows that were following him, keeping an eye on his every movement. Even though Lucifer wasn't looking back at him didn't mean there was no one keeping an eye on him.
Lucifer could see every movement of Predictor through his shadows.
"Next time you try to do something, remember, I don't need to take the entire you outside to get my wish. Both your hands will be detached from your body if you attempt to kill yourself. By the way, you might want to toss away the knife that's in your back pocket. My wind blades are faster than your knife," he lazily stated.
Predictor pulled out the knife from his pocket and gazed at it momentarily. After taking a long breath, he tossed the knife away.
Since Lucifer was so adamant about taking him outside, he couldn't even kill himself since it was impossible.
The man had no way now. He could either take the risk of going outside himself on the off chance that what he saw was a dream and he won't die the way he saw outside. Or he could be forced out.
That way, he wasn't going to survive even if he was lucky since Lucifer was going to kill him. It was better to take the first option since he literally had no other choice.
"I will go out by myself," Predictor answered, sighing. With no choice, he could just say yes.
"That's more like it." Lucifer took Predictor to the helipad, where the others were already waiting for them after not finding anyone in the control room.
"You found him, it seems. Where was he?" Killian asked, seeing Lucifer arrive.
"He was waiting for me in his room," Lucifer responded. "Open the roof."
Yaliza opened the roof.
"Go ahead," Lucifer commanded Predictor. "Leave."
"What? We're letting that rat go?" Tristan exclaimed in shock. "He caused so much destruction by his betrayal! Some of our men who left after the Uprising were disbanded; they still aren't found! How can we let him leave?"
Lucifer glanced at Predictor. "Are you really questioning me?"
"I... I am not questioning. I'm just saying."
"I heard what you wanted to say. That's enough." Lucifer calmly stated. "Now, let me do what I want."
"You go!" He commanded Predictor.

"The rest, get inside the helicopter."
Everyone entered the helicopter on Lucifer's command. The helicopter flew up, leaving the base.
It floated twenty feet above the ground, waiting for further commands.
Lucifer flew out of the base, waiting for the lift to come up. He could see that there was nothing odd in the surroundings. There was nothing that could kill the predictor and give him a death he could be scared about. He was really curious to see what was going to happen.
He landed on the desert sand with his hands behind his back as he observed the lift that came out of the ground. The door of the lift opened, revealing Predictor.
Tristan stood in the lift, hesitating to take one step on the sand. His feet had started trembling.
"Do it!" Lucifer firmly commanded.
Predictor stepped out of the lift, taking her first step on the land. He could feel the warmth of the sun as he came out of the shade.
Lucifer waited for a few minutes for something to happen; however, nothing like that happened. Everything was perfectly normal.
He could see that even Predictor was slightly surprised as nothing happened. With his covered eyes, he raised his head, frowning.
He wondered if it was really a dream? Did he really confuse a nightmare with a Prediction? This ability... It was really scary. It kept him in a self imprisoning condition for such a long time. Finally, Predictor realized that he was wrong.
