Finally, after a month of travel, Krune's group arrived in the Orluke Solar System. The same system where the wisp world resides. But the planet they teleport into wasn't the wisp world, but one of those in the same place.
Still, Krune and the others noticed the difference straight away. That's because there were wisps everywhere! As mentioned before, the wisp world controls all the planets in the Orluke Solar System. Because of this, wisps have their protection in all those planets.
The surprising thing is the fact that the majority of the wisps were not using their human form, but stayed in the wisp one instead. That also helped Krune to identify those who were not wisps. After spreading his Divine Sense, Krune was able to find quite a few cultivators and demon beasts. Of course, compared to the number of wisps, it wasn't worth even mention their existence.
The wisp taking care of the teleport formation then came forward. Different from the others, he was in his human form. That was obvious, though. He had to deal with both cultivators and demon beasts that arrived, and being in human form was the best way to do it.
"Hello, my name is Juk. Welcome to the Wisp World 13. Are you just passing by or staying for some time?"
Except for Krune, the others were surprised.
"Wisp World 13? Could it be that you guys name the other planets by numbers?"
Juk nodded, but Krune was the one to answer.
"Correct. It's an easy way to identify the planets to just use a number, and that's all. I personally find it very effective."
Juk heard that comment and laughed.
"The majority of those who visit the Orluke Solar System find it weird that we use numbers to separate the planets. In fact, the Solar System is only called like this because it already had this name before the wisp occupation ages ago. But considering your answer, am I right to guess that you are also a wisp?"
Krune didn't seem surprised by that question.
"I see, usually only wisps would not find anything strange with the planets being named like that, right? Any other race would at least find it somewhat different from having one main planet and all others with the same name followed by numbers."
Juk nodded.
"Correct. Of course, there are also those who already knew about it and don't find it surprising anymore when they arrive. But for a group like yours, which is obvious visiting this place for the first time, it is easy to make some guesses. Wisps are specifically easy to identify since they would make comments like yours about effectiveness."
Krune smiled and nodded.
"I am indeed a wisp. I came here because of the protection given to wisps."
Juk was already expecting it.
"Well, the biggest majority of wisps come here for the same reason. So I will need to send you to the registration office. There you can apply for a permanent stay in one of the planets of the Orluke Solar System."
Juk then looked at Feifei and the others and asked.
"You can also do the same if you want. But I will tell you in advance that permanent stay for other races is harder to get."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFeifei shook her head and said.
"We are not staying here permanently. We just came with him because we wanted to see how the wisp world looked like."
Juk nodded and then took a piece of Spiritual Equipment out.
"The rules say that those who are not part of the wisp race have to be marked during their stay here. Please understand that this is for the sake of the wisps in our Solar System. But don't you worry, according to the rules, this mark will disappear the moment you leave the Orluke Solar System."
Feifei and the others looked at each other and then nodded. They extended their hands, and each one of them except for Krune received that mark.
After that, Juk showed the registration office on the map to Krune's group.
"Alright, that's all for now, you are clear to go. Have a nice stay."
Krune then asked another thing before leaving the teleport formation range.
"Can I also apply for the wisp protection law in the registration office?"
Juk was taken aback by that question.
"The wisp protection law is only given for wisp with immense talent. But if you can prove that you are one of those, you will then be sent to the wisp world's main planet to take the test. But I advise that it is quite difficult. Only wisps who have a good chance of achieving the Divine Soul Realm or have some other fantastic talent will have this chance. Of course, there are also a few other ways, but those are special circumstances."
Ruik heard that and laughed.
"Well, it seems like you are perfect with both cultivation and other talents."
"Shut up!"
Juk then asked.
"Could it be that you are a high-level wisp?"
Krune looked at him and nodded.
"You could say that. At least I do think I have a good chance of reaching the Divine Soul Realm. But I will have to check it in the registration office first."
Juk nodded.
"Oh, you are a lucky one then."
Tiane noticed that Juk didn't appear that much surprised and asked.
"Could it be that you see a lot of high-level wisps coming here?"
Juk nodded once more.
"We do receive a lot of wisps from the entire universe year-round, after all. Depending on the distance, it might be a costly journey. So wisps that can pay for it are usually the ones who had the ability to at least gather enough spirit stones."
Juk continued.
"Of course, wisps like your friend that can say that he has a good chance to achieve the Divine Soul Realm are still very rare. Although quite a few of the wisps who arrive are already in the Core Formation Realm, the biggest majority already doesn't have any hope of breaking through the next realm anymore."
Dilo sighed and commented.
"In the end, all comes back to the wisps life span."
Juk agreed with him.
"I'm sad to say that this is the truth, it's a fate that we wisps can't run from."
Juk noticed that he was already wasting too much of Krune's group time and then said.
"Anyway, you have all the information necessary. Please stop by the registration office first for them to check your aptitude. Who knows, you might really be able to apply for a test on the main planet."
Krune and the others bid farewell to Juk and then made their way to the registration office.
On the way, Krune saw one thing that made him frown. Feifei noticed that and asked.
"What is it?"
Krune sighed and then said.
"I'm spreading my Divine Sense to the max range. But can you believe that there is almost not a single restaurant in this place? Not only that, but the three that appeared in my Divine Sense don't have a single wisp inside, only other demon beasts or cultivators! At most, they have a wisp in human form working inside, but that is all. How is that possible?!"
Ruik was taken aback by that and did the same as Krune.
"Indeed. Not only that, but I also can't see a single wisp in human form in my Divine Sense range that is eating anything. Of course, I can't tell if those in human form are really wisps or not. Still, I've spent most of my time with you and the other wisps that got their human form, and all of them liked to eat. But it seems like not a single one here like to do so."
He pondered a bit and then looked at Krune.
"Well, it could be said that Lakin and the others only got to like food because of you, though. As far as I know, you had never been a 'go-with-the-norm' wisp."
Feifei, Tiane, and Dilo nodded vigorously. They, too, have never seen a wisp who acted like Krune in their life.
Krune's mouth twitched at that scene.
"Are you doing that on purpose?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEveryone nodded once more, which mad Krune feel like crying already.
"Hmph! So what if I like food? There is nothing wrong with that. I might as well show to the other wisps how good it is in the future."
Feifei shook her head.
"You can think about that later. For now, let's just get over with the registration thing."
Once they arrive there, Krune noticed that there were a lot of wisps inside as well. But that was quite obvious. The wisp planets receive wisps all year round, so it goes without saying that the registration office would always be full. After all, the teleport formation from which Krune's group arrived was only one of the several others in this place.
Krune and his group entered the building and waited in the queue.
Once their time came, the attendant asked the same question as she did for everyone. She was also a wisp, and one close to the Core Formation Realm at that.
"Any wisps in the group?"
Krune came forward and said.
"I'm a wisp myself. The other four are just accompanying me."
She nodded and then asked.
"You will need to show me your true form for me to confirm that you really are a wisp. Are you applying for a permanent stay, then? "
Krune shook his head.
"It's a temporary thing."
"In that case, how long are you all staying?"
Krune pondered a bit and then asked.
"I want to apply for the wisp protection law so that I can use it outside the Orluke Solar System. So we are staying for as long as it is necessary to finish the procedures."
The female wisp was surprised by that. Not only her, but even the other wisps around stopped what they were doing to look at Krune. It wasn't every day that a wisp had the confidence to apply for the wisp protection law, after all.
"Only wisps with chances of entering the Divine Soul Realm or that have amazing talent in some other field can apply for it. Which one are you applying for?"
Krune nodded and said.
"For the Divine Soul Realm chance."
The girl took a deep breath and then asked.
"In that case, please show me your real form first."
Krune felt a little uncomfortable that so many wisps were paying attention to him, but agreed nonetheless.
'I'm also a wisp, so it should be okay. I just hope that they don't mind my colorful appearance.'
