A pillar of golden-yellow light, accompanied by the heat, descended from the sky and enveloped the cultist in the brass mask, blinding Tom and his goon.

"Ooh, the great dragon god, give me the power to protect the treasure of dragons!"

The bright yellow-golden light subsided, revealing the evil cultist with his whole body enveloped in golden light, radiating divine energy.

The man, held by the evil cultist, flared up even brighter, his screams stopping as his charred black carbonised body fell on the ground. The disgusting smell of burned fat still lingered in the air.

Tom stepped back, his skin feeling hot, sweat running down his body from the heat radiating out of the priest.

The brass-masked cultist looked straight at him, his reptilian eyes glowing in the eye-holes of the mask.

"Y-you are not human! You are a monster!" Tom shuddered, his body trembling.

Suddenly an arrow whistled through the air, its shiny tip glittering under the sunlight, flying straight towards the evil cultist burning in flames.

The priest swapped with his free hand, and golden flames burst out, hitting and melting the arrow before even reaching him.

Tom was frozen, seeing the strength of the cultist in front of him, regret creeping into his mind, realising that there was no way that he could defeat the monster in front of him.

'Shit, it's not just wyrm. They are all monsters!'

Suddenly loud dinging bang of metal hitting metal resounded through the street, with Tom returning back to his senses.

His last-standing colleague Igor held his short sword tightly. His arms bent as he pushed against the heavy halberd with all of his strength, slowly moving closer and closer to his neck.

"I am sorry, I must survive." Tom turned on his heels, running back into the dark side street, his steps echoing in the narrow dark space between two tall buildings.

He kept running without looking back when another set of quick steps came from behind him, quickly closing towards him.

Tom speeded up, his breath ragged as he sprinted through the valley, the steps behind him getting closer and closer.

Soon the air swished behind him, and he immediately threw himself on the ground, rolling through the mud and dirt, as the halberd passed narrowly above him.

Tom quickly regained his stance and stabbed with his rapier while still crouching, its shiny thin blade shivering in the air.

The tall masked cultist behind him casually swung his large halberd, easily deflecting the rapier, its thin blade creaking and bending under the powerful blow.

Tom felt even more despair, realising the great advantage that halberd held over the rapier, in both momenta, reach and force behind each strike.

"Hahaha, such an idiocy to try to rob a wyrm!" that halberd descended once again, cutting deep into his stomach, the insane and muffled laughter of the cultist echoing through the street.

"Ahhhh!"

His eyes went wide in a panic as he fell to his knees, watching as his own innard flowed out of the large cut on his stomach, blood spilling on the ground, his vision quickly turning dark.

'At least she is far. She will get away.' the image of his lover, Sonya, formed in his mind with her long hair waving in the summer breeze in the middle of a green pasture as his consciousness quickly faded.

POV Sonya:

Sonya lay on the roof, her long hair in a mess and her face wet from tears. Her body was trembling, the vivid imagery of all of her friends and her lover getting brutally murdered still fresh in her mind.

'No, that is not right. Maybe Tom escaped!' she tried to calm herself down, thinking about how Tom ran away, hoping that he had managed to escape.

Her hope immediately shattered when the wyrm worshipper on the street under her returned, his halberd covered in blood, with his free hand holding the decapitated head of her lover.

'How is it that only I survived while Tom had to die on a dirty street.'

Suddenly her whole body tensed as if something looked at her, her body frozen and covered in sweat, shivers running down her spine uncontrollably. The feeling of heaviness kept pressing against her from the sky as if the god himself judged her sins.

Suddenly something fast and yellow glittered in the sky, quickly falling towards her. Its yellow shine increased as it quickly and surely descended towards her, like the god's judgement.

The next moment hole appeared in her chest with its edges black from burning, the deep black hole gaping in the middle of the nearby street.

Sonya lost her balance, rolling down the roof and falling on a pile of garbage. A swarm of giant rats immediately ran towards her, their small red eyes looking at her from every direction.

POV Vesuvius:

Vesuvius watched everything from the sky, his reptilian eyes watching the last thief die after getting pierced by a miniature version of his magma spike. A feeling of comfort and peace spread through his heart, knowing that the thieves that tried to rob him had died.

Still, a tiny cinder was still burning deep within him, telling him what he needed to do, 'They are criminals, but there is a chance that there was someone above them. If they were part of some bigger organisation, then all of them must die for their poor attempt of robbing him.'

This opinion was even more reinforced by his eyes catching glimpses of the same ring with onyxes worn by all four thieves.

The rage once again reignited in his heart as he sent a mission to investigate it to his minions.

'I will make an example out of them that robbing a dragon is a bad idea!'

Initially, he just sent three players to transport his treasure, believing that it was enough, with no one being foolish enough to try to rob him. It was a test of their trustworthiness, wanting to know if they would try to take a portion of it.

Vesuvius shook his head, not understanding the foolishness of humans, 'And they call us dragons greedy.'
