PART 2-CHAPTER 101 JESS The morning sun streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room as I lay there, naked and still trying to catch my breath. My head spun, my heart still racing from what had just happened.
Luke's arm was draped lazily across my waist, and I could feel his steady breath against the back of my neck as he drew patterns on my back and over my hip. After our shower, Luke decided that he didn't like not being in control and showedexactly why it's better whe This was like a blissful little bubble moment, and all I could think about was Luke finally tellinghow he felt, then showingagain until I was a convulsing mess and needed another shower.
He finally said it. He confessed. Luke, my brother's best friend, the guy I'd been secretly crushing on for years, just admitted he had feelings for me. And not in ssubtle, roundabout way- no, he laid it all out there right after... well, after the most passionate morning of my life.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI stared up at the ceiling, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts, but all I could focus on was the fact that Luke was still here, still holding me, like everything had changed and nothing had changed at the stime! But there was one little problem. Actually, one giant, terrifying, PART 2 CHAPTER 101 brother-sized problem.
Josh.
1289 Vouchers Josh, who was downstairs. Josh, who probably heard... everything. My stomach dropped at the thought.
I rolled back and turned to Luke, who just lay there with hooded eyes and a smile on his face as his fingers now drew little circles around my nipples before he flattened his palm against my stomach.
"Morning," he murmured, his voice still husky from sleep.
"It's been morning," I whispered back, feeling a ridiculous smile tug at my lips. But reality quickly set in, and my eyes darted toward the door. "Luke, Josh is downstairs." Luke just shrugged, like it was the most normal thing in the world. "So?" "So? So he's going to know! He's going to know you spent the night, and he probably heard us this morning, and oh my God, what are we going to do?" Luke chuckled, clearly unfazed. He sat up, stretching his arms over his head, and gavea look that said I was overthinking this way too much. "Jess, relax. It's fine." "Fine?" I echoed, my voice an octave higher. "This is so not fine. This is the opposite of fine." But Luke, in his usual calm, confident way, just reached for my hand, pullingout of bed. "Con. Let's go get sbreakfast. I'm starving from all the cardio." PART 2 CHAPTER 101 zas vouchers "Are you insane?" I hissed, trying to pull my hand back, but he held on tight. "I can't go down there! Josh is going to-" "Josh is going to be fine," Luke interrupted, his tone annoyingly soothing. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze and flasheda teasing smile. "Besides, if I don't go down to eat breakfast, I'm having you for breakfast, and I'm not sure you could handle another round," N I opened my mouth to argue, but he was already leadingto the door. I barely had tto throw on a robe before we were heading downstairs. Luke didn't care, though. He stepped out in nothing but briefs.
My heart was pounding in my chest, and I was pretty sure I was about to have a heart attack. How could he be so calm about this? As we entered the kitchen, I felt like I was walking into a battlefield. Josh sat at the table, scrolling through his phone like nothing could bother him. Laura was across from him, a croissant halfway to her mouth, her eyes widening when she saw us.
She choked on her croissant, coughing as she tried to process what she saw. Her gaze darted from Luke to me. I felt like a deer caught in headlights.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJosh, on the other hand, didn't even look up. He just leaned over, kissed Laura on the temple, and said, "Your jaw, babe. It's on the counter." before taking her last bite of croissant for himself. Laura snapped her mouth shut, her eyes still wide with disbelief as she stared at us. I could feel my face heating up.
CHAPTER 101 Luke, ever the picture of confidence, walked right up to the fridge and grabbed the orange juice, pouring himself
a glass like it was just another morning. "Anyone want some?" he asked, completely ignoring the fact e fact that Laura was still choking on her Ο croissant, and I was about to faint from embarrassment. "Sure," Josh said, finally glancing up at us with a grin that made my stomach flip. He didn't look surprised, which was even more unsettling.
"Am I missing something?" I looked at Luara, who shrugged. Clearly, Josh didn't tell her anything instead, he er just hopped up onto a chair, completely unfazed, and gave Laura a little nudge. "Relax, babe." "Did you know about this?" Josh shrugged, taking a sip of his own orange juice. "Let's just say I'm not surprised." My jaw dropped. "You... you're not mad?"
He raised an eyebrow at me. "Mad? Nah. I mean, I'm not thrilled about hearing certain things this morning," he shot Luke a pointed look, "but I've got bigger things to worry about." I watched as Josh pulled Laura to his side just as Luke handeda glass of juice, and for once in my life, it felt like my family was all in one place.
