PART 2 CHAPTER 106 JESS I was running back from economics class, which my dad insisted I take because I wasn't Josh. He wantedto follow in his footsteps and be smajor corporate business person who wheeled and dealt with the best of them. I couldn't think of anything worse than that, the first few classes I enjoyed, but I wouldn't tell him that.
I pulled out my phone and noticed a missed call from Luke. Shit. Three days. We hadn't really spoken in three days. I knew it was partly my fault- classes had been brutal, and every tI had a spare moment, Luke was either at practice or busy with. something else. Our schedules never seemed to sync.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI tried calling him back, but it went straight to voicemail. A sigh escaped my lips before I left him a message. "Hey, Luke, shit, sorry I missed your call. I'll try again after your last practice, you know, the practice you insisted I do. If I hate it, you will have to make it up to me, and I have a few ideas." I missed Luke, I missed being near him, and despite not being all that intuitive with my body at the start of all this, now my body craved it. I dreamt of Luke last night, pulling up to my dorm as a surprise...
A few minutes later, I was standing in front of the track field, students everywhere working out, practicing, and doing all sorts of different drills. It was a little overwhelming-running is a solitary sport to me. This was anything but. PART 2 - CHAPTER 119.
My eyes instinctively searched through the crowd, and they landed on him- Aiden Cole. He was shirtless... again, and I made a mental note to buy him clothes clearly, he doesn't have a lot because he barely wears any. His skin was slick with sweat as he moved effortlessly through sprints. His muscles rippled beneath his tan skin, each defined line of his abs catching the light as he pushed off from the ground with perfect precision. His broad shoulders flexed with every movement, powerful and controlled, and his strong legs carried him faster with each stride. I swallowed hard, my throat dry and scratchy. I wasn't the only one watching either; girls standing off to the side were staring at him like he was ssort of Greek god in the flesh. To be fair, with his chiseled jawline, messy blond hair, and piercing blue eyes, he looked every bit the part. If I had to compare, I'd say Brad Pitt in Troy.
But it wasn't just that he was attractive. Aiden had this presence -cocky, sure, but something about him drew attention whether he wanted it or not. He didn't seem to notice, though, or maybe he just didn't care. He was too focused, his expression intense as he powered through each drill, completely in his element. Coach stepped onto the field, his booming voice cutting through the chatter as everyone immediately went silent. "Alright, first- semester conditioning- everyone will be together for the next hour, and then we'll break into disciplines, yeah?" His gaze swept across the group, and I nodded along with everyone else.
To my surprise, Aiden and his friends made their way over to join the rest of us, which was strange because I didn't think they'd bother with general conditioning. Aiden's eyes flickered my way for just a second, lingering onwithout a hint of 08:06 PART 2 CHAPTER 106 1288 Vouchers emotion before he looked back to the coach.
I couldn't tell what he was thinking and wasn't sure I wanted to know.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmCoach continued with the instructions, but my focus was pulled elsewhere. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed one of Aiden's friends leaning into him, whispering something under his breath. Aiden's eyes briefly shifted back to mine, just for a moment, his mouth pressed creeping up my cheeks. It was painfully obvious they were talking about 1. me.
As the coach started assigning drills, I tried to shake it off. But before I could fully get my head back in the game, a blond girl built a lot like me-lean and wiry-stepped toward me, smirking. "Aren't you that girl?" he started. "You know, the one that famous football player tried to, I don't know, kill or something?" My heart hammered my chest. How does she know about that? The memory of everything with Bryan crushing back- the kidnapping, the fear, everything I'd worked so hard to push down. I could feel a panic attack starting, which hadn't happened in a long t- not since Luke decided to sleep in my bed at night, but he wasn't here nobody was here. Shit. My stomach churned, and I was about 10 seconds away from hurling my stomach contents when Aiden's other friend, the one who'd been whispering, walked over and made it worse. "Yeah! That is you! Jessica...something, right?" He grinned, nudging his buddy like it was all a big joke. "If you're a runner, why didn't you just run away? Not fast enough?"
The urge to slap that smug look off his face surged through me, my fists tightening at my sides, but I needed to focus on PART 2 CHAPTER 106 288 Mouchers keeping the shaking under control and my lunch inside my body.
"Shut the fuck up, man," Aiden snapped, his voice low and om e threatening,
I wanted to say thank you, I really did, but now wasn't the and in! needed to get out of here, and I needed to do it right now, so I bolted...
