PART 2 - CHAPTER 109 JESS I fell onto my bed with the towel still wrapped around me. I didn't have the energy to get dressed, and Sofie mentioned. something about not being here tonight, so I just crawled in the covers. I was tired, empty, and confused, and I hated it. My fingers brushed against his face, and I traced the familiar outline of his jaw, moving up to his bottom lip. I felt it tremble beneath my thumb. 289 Mouchers: "Luke?" My voice was shaky, barely above a whisper. "You're here?" He nodded, his eyes soft and full of concern. "You're okay, babe. I'm sorry they cback, but you're safe. I've got you." His words were like a lifeline. I collapsed against him, my cheek pressed to his chest, and I could finally breathe- really breathe. I could feel his chest's steady rise and fall, the warmth of his body groundingin the present.

Luke kissed the top of my head softly, his arms wrapped around me. We just sat like that for a few minutes, my head resting on his chest, his hand gently rubbing my back.

Eventually, I pulled back slightly, my breathing more even. It hitsuddenly-this was the dorm shared with Sofie.

"Shit. Sofie?" I whispered, scanning the empty bed across the room.

"Relax. She said something about her sister being in town and staying with her for the night. I got here just as she was leaving." Yeah, that was right. Sofie did say that.

"You've been here for hours?" I blinked, still trying to process everything.

I nodded and pulled my bottom lip between my teeth. "Sorry about that. Someone just made a comment about Bryan, and it all crushing back, but I'm better now." I sat up, squaring my shoulders and taking a deep breath. Luke smirked, but then his eyes dropped down I looked down and realized I was naked.

"You forgot your pajamas, or is this the new you?" Luke said, his voice suddenly low and husky "I uh, took a shower and just fell into bed in my towel. The towel must have... Ah, here it is."I yanked the towel out from underand flung it on the floor. Luke's eyes darkened
