204 Did Your Sister Ask You to Come?
For the next few days, Zhang Li Xue has been busy helping Bai Qi to look for a new apartment each time she was on her break.
His request was not that difficult. He only wanted to rent in a safer neighborhood closer to the hospital as well as his little sister’s school.
Seeing the price of each property made Zhang Li Xue hesitate. She didn’t know much about Bai Qi’s salary and wondered if he could afford the rent at certain places. However, Zhang Li Xue took a few notes of every place with all budget and decided to consult with her mother.
In the morning, Zhang Li Xue was still looking at her computer when she noticed the date. She took out her phone and quickly sent a text to her friend, Fang Su Jin.
Instead of replying to her text, Fang Su Jin called her number instead. A smile curled on her lips upon seeing her friend’s name on the phone.
“Li Xue, I’m feeling anxious,” Fang Su Jin spoke as soon as the call was connected. “What if there’s no one would come to my exhibition?”
“It can’t be. Your paintings are quite good. Why wouldn’t people come and see it?” Zhang Li Xue said. “Su Jin, I believe in you. I’m sure that there will be a lot of people coming.”
Fang Su Jin sighed, feeling unconvinced.
“Otherwise, I can ask my brother to bring a few of his friends to attend your exhibition?”
.....
Fang Su Jin was reminded of the last time she ran into Zhang Yi Hai nearby his campus area. She had told him about her exhibition, didn’t she?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Forget it. I already mentioned about this exhibition when I ran into him a few days ago,” Fang Su Jin said. “Anyway, isn’t he busy with his study and assignment?”
Zhang Yi Hai will be graduating soon and Fang Su Jin could already guess that the boy would be busy.
“I still don’t understand why you would think that my little brother is scary,” Zhang Li Xue said. “He’s a little annoying, but he’s not scary.”
Fang Su Jin clicked her tongue. “Li Xue, try to tell him that you are now dating Doctor Bai. We’ll see if he’s scary or not.”
Zhang Li Xue sat up straight. “Empress Fang, I beg you not to say a word to my brother. Aren’t you worried that your best friend might stay single for the rest of her life?” Zhang Li Xue was not afraid of her brother. However, she was mostly worried that her little brother would make things difficult for her Doctor Bai Qi.
Fang Su Jin laughed and her mood instantly turned better.
The two of them chatted for a while and Zhang Li Xue continued to give her friend a few encouraging words.
Seeing that it was almost time for her exhibition to start, Fang Su Jin took a few deep breaths before entering the hall.
Some of the workers were busy making the final preparation. Fang Su Jin walked around the hall and chatted briefly with the other artists as well. Just as she had made her round, Fang Su Jin looked up and saw that her mentor, was walking over with that agent, Mika by his side.
Fang Su Jin put on her best smile before greeting them.
“Miss Fang, congratulations,” Mika said as he handed her a bouquet of flowers.
“Thank you. The flowers look beautiful.” Fang Su Jin glanced at the pretty bouquet in her hand before motioning for someone to help her carry them.
Mika watched this scene and smiled.
“Su Jin, how is the preparation? Have you checked everything?”
“Teacher Jiang, I already checked everything twice. There shouldn’t be any problem.”
The elder man nodded. He patted Fang Su Jin on her shoulder and smiled gently. “Relax. You have worked hard in the past few days. You should have faith in yourself.”
“Teacher Jiang, thank you.”
Teacher Jiang glanced at the tall man beside him. “That’s right, Su Jin, after the exhibition, let’s go and have a meal together.”
“Alright.” With Mika’s presence, Fang Su Jin guessed that her mentor should want to discuss the exhibition in F Country.
The organizer walked over to talk to Fang Su Jin and with that, she managed to excuse herself.
When she turned around again, her mentor and Mika were no longer around. Fang Su Jin guessed that her mentor should be taking that man around the place.
As the exhibition started, Fang Su Jin began to look around and sighed. The door had only opened a while ago and a few people were walking around the hall.
Fang Su Jin heaved a sigh of relief, finding that there were at least a few people coming to this exhibition.
Even though they might not come to look at her paintings, at least there would be a chance that someone might notice her art, right?
Fang Su Jin stayed in the hall to wait and see if someone would come to see her paintings.
Just then, a familiar figure walked over and stopped beside her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe turned around and was surprised to find that the person was no other than Zhang Yi Hai.
Her eyes widened and her lips gapped open. “You...”
“Sister Fang, congratulations on your exhibition.”
The question she wanted to ask was stuck in her throat. “Thank you. Did your sister ask you to come?”
Zhang Yi Hai blinked. “My sister? No. Sister Fang, didn’t you invite me and my friends to attend this exhibition?”
Of course, Fang Su Jin remembered that she had invited Zhang Yi Hai to come. However, she did not expect that he would really show up.
“Don’t you have a class to attend?”
“We don’t have class today,” Zhang Yi Hai said. “My friends are still outside. They should be here in a minute.”
Just then, Fang Su Jin saw a few people walking into the hall. She had seen the two boys previously and recognized them as Zhang Yi Hai’s roommates. As for the others, this was the first time she had seen them.
Fang Su Jin looked at them speechlessly.
Looking at it almost felt as if Zhang Yi Hai had invited a few of his classmates and they were having a tour around the art gallery.
“That’s right. I told a few people about this exhibition. I guess they should come over soon.”
“What people?”
“My uncles and aunts.”
Suddenly, there was a commotion coming from the entrance. Soon, a tall bespectacled man walked into the hall followed by three beautiful ladies beside him. The elder woman was holding the man’s arms while the two twin girls followed them closely.
Zhang Yi Hai walked over and greeted them. “Uncle Lu Xun, Aunt Song.”
The two elders nodded. Then, the twin girls greeted happily. “Brother Yi Hai!”
