Chapter 215 Started to Get Suspicious.

At 8 pm on Sunday, Chandler got out of his Maybach, feeling a little emotional as he looked at the old

neighborhood.

The hacker team of four had already disbanded two years ago. All four of them had “turned over a new leaf” and

had started their families back in their hometown with the hefty pension given by Chandler.

Chandler had never done a background check on them this whole time, giving the four loyal hackers full privacy.

Three of them were no longer in contact with Chandler, and only the leader at that time was still keeping in touch

with him.

The leader revealed his details on his own to Chandler, and it turned out that he was a local and his name was Pax

Lester. After he returned to his hometown, he opened up his own private investigation firm. He usually helped the

residents in the neighborhood find lost

pets and some rich married people find evidence of their spouses‘ having affairs. His life was very fulfilling and

ordinary.

Probably none of the residents in this old city knew that there was a hacker living among them.

Chandler walked to the building Pax was living in and went upstairs straightaway. There were advertisements

plastered all over the stairs.

filling the place with an air of mundane life.

After he came to the third floor, he rang the bell of unit number 302, and a piercing sound of a bell that seemed to

be out of juice sounded.

Not long after, Pax came to the door wearing pajamas.

“Oh, you’re here. Come on in. The apartment is a little messy. Sorry about that.” Pax looked like a man in his thirties

who had let himself go a little. He had the appearance of a typical techie, and he even had a pair of black glasses

on his face.

After Chandler entered the apartment calmly, he saw a woman–who was also wearing pajamas–feeding a girl who

was a little more than one–year–old.

The woman smiled and said. “You’re Pax’s colleagues, aren’t you? I’m sorry the apartment is a little messy because

we have a child=”

Chandler quickly said, “It’s no problem. I have a son too, so my home is messy as well.”

His understanding and politeness made Pax feel grateful. He then led Chandler into his study.

Once the door was shut. Pax said very apologetically, “I’m really very sorry. My wife has been paranoid lately, so it’s

not convenient for me to leave the apartment. I also have to read my daughter a bedtime story when it’s her time

for bed, so I can only trouble you to come over.”

Chandler looked around the study, then he chose to sit on the wooden chair. Looking calm, he said, “There’s no

need for you to be polite with me. A man indeed should prioritize his family. He will only have a true sense of

existence when he makes his wife happy and child satisfied.”

Chandler–the almighty king in the business world–was a person who could have a chat with people from all walks of

life.

In the seven years he had spent searching for Erin, Chandler had personally gone to various places many times to

look for her. The powerful and spoiled man in the past had changed into a thorough person with depth. He led his

company to soar to great heights, so much so that everybody in the business world knew of the Frost Corporation.

“It’s been some time since I saw you, and you’ve changed a lot. Haha. Let’s talk about the file you sent me last

night. Through the contents of the comic. I’ve already found it on a website for comics. The artist’s name is very

special. Take a look.” The website was showing on Pax’s monitor, and he even had the artist’s profile open.

Chandler immediately went up to Pax’s desk. He bent over a little and stared at the monitor. When he saw the

name, he was instantly shocked. The comic artist was AsaelMama.

He immediately thought of his son, Asa. The name was slightly different, but Chandler had a feeling and he

wondered if this person called AsaelMama had something to do with Erin.

Pax continued. “The artist hasn’t uploaded any new content for a few days. I’ve checked the address the artist used

every time the comic was uploaded, and it showed that it was from an island. I’ve looked deeper into it and found

that the comic is published by a technology company called the Garden of Eden. I’ve checked that as well, and it’s

aligned with your good friend, Roman’s, hospital. You once mentioned the name in passing, it’s simple and easy to

remember so I have a bit of an impression of it. And now the information I got has something to do with the Garden

of Eden. I feel that Roman might know this comic artist who you’re trying to look into.”

Not long after, Chandler looked up and asked Pax, “How much have you found out about Pamela Eastwood?”

Looking a little helpless, Pax shook his head. “I couldn’t find anything. Her information is too basic, other than being

the cousin of the boss behind Garden of Eden; Paulo Eastwood. She has a foreign passport, and it’s new. I can’t find

any information about her past at all. It’s like she’s a person who appeared out of nowhere…”

A person who appeared out of nowhere?

Chandler was lost in thoughts once again, frowning. He could not help but take out a pack of cigarettes from his

black jacket. When Pax saw that, he immediately brought the ashtray on his desk over and sat on the chair next to

Chandler.

Both the men started smoking. After each of them was absorbed in their thoughts for about five minutes. Chandler

was the first to ask, “Do

you have a photo of the Garden of Eden’s boss, Paulo?”

“Yes, I do!” Pax immediately walked back to his desk, saying. “Paulo is very mysterious. He has never taken a photo

with others in public. I heard people have to switch off their phones when having a business meeting with him.

However, everything has flaws in this world. A lady who had a crush on him back then anonymously posted a photo

she had secretly taken on a website abroad that was meant for

sharing photos of hot guys. I even found your photo on that website.”

Pax laughed and said, “You took the top spot of the ranking, earning more than 185 million likes from women all

over the world.”

Chandler asked, “Where’s his photo?”

It was only then Pax realized he was talking about a topic that did not interest Chandler, so he immediately changed

to that page about Paulo. Turning the monitor toward Chandler, Pax said seriously, “It’s him.”

There was a glint in Chandler’s eyes before his gaze darkened and said. “So, it’s him…”

“You’ve met him?” Pax got a little curious.

“Mm–hmm. I just met him yesterday. It seemed that he was Pamela’s cousin. This made Chandler become

immensely conflicted. He had clearly seen Paulo hugging Erin’s waist and kissing her forehead…

These cousins seemed to be highly inappropriate.

“Pax, continue digging deeper into Paulo’s personal information; the more the better. Pamela as well. Just continue

looking into it and see if you can find anything suspicious.” Chandler put off his cigarette in the ashtray and got up

as he was prepared to leave.

Pax said, “Don’t worry. I’ll continue investigating. I’ll continue to follow up on the person named AsaelMama. Once

she has the next comic uploaded, I’ll immediately have her current address, more specifically her residential

address.”

“Mm–hmm. I feel reassured leaving this to you.” Chandler was already at the door of the study, preparing to leave.

Before he opened the door, he thought of something again and added, “I’m wondering if Pamela would have a

medical record at the Garden of Eden. Check for Roman’s record as well. He got treatment in secret, hiding it from

everyone else. Now that I think about it, what he did is a little strange. Also, the fact that he said he was

accidentally burnt is a little suspicious I’ve known him for many years. He has always been a cautious person. I

wonder how severe of a blow he suffered back then that was enough for him to get drunk and accidentally burn

himself…”

Chandler frowned and sighed before saying, “Just look into it first. If you really can’t find anything. I’ll go ask

Roman. He’s very tight–lipped. but some things are just upsetting to leave unclarified!”

Pax had already gotten up and opened the door for Chandler. He then saw Chandler off at the entrance.

After Chandler said goodbye to him, he left the neighborhood.

While he was on the way back to his villa, a sense of suspicion was troubling him.

Roman introduced a woman he claimed to be his good friend to him to be Asa’s art teacher. At that moment, this

seemed to be suspicious as well when he thought about it.

Chandler kept recalling how special and attentive Erin was to Asa. She was just an art teacher, yet for the sake of

money, she was able to express such sincerity to the extent of losing control of her emotions a little. As Asa’s

father, he felt that this was rather incomprehensible. Who exactly was Pamela? And what was her purpose for

approaching Asa?
