I glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby and bit my lip. "Lisa, who do you think it was?" She studiedfor a few seconds. "Brandon?" I didn't deny it. Lisa nodded and then shook her head "I never expected this. Chris was with you for ten years, yet he couldn't beat Brandon-a latecomer has taken the lead." I was left speechless by her remark.

"What happened? Did you force yourself on him?" Lisa really overestimated me.

I coughed lightly. "It was mutual." That made Lisa laugh. She was clearly teasing me. I glared at her and said, "What are you laughing at? It really was mutual. I didn't force anything." "That doesn't matter. What matters is that you got to be with such a handsand well-built man. No regrets," Lisa said, her words hitting the mark as always.

"Dr. Carline, all these years you've ignored every man and had no interest in anyone. Is it because you think it would only be worth it to sleep with someone as excellent as Keith?" I teased her back.

Lisa didn't deny it. "Exactly. If you're going to be with someone, it should be someone you like and someone outstanding." "Your senior is indeed impressive. It would be a shto miss out on him. You should tell him how you feel-you might just have a chance," I encouraged her.

Lisa pouted and said, "There's no way anything could happen between us. If I confess to him, there are only two possible outcomes." "What are they?" Lisa paused before she continued, "One is that we start dating and fall in love. The other is we can't even be friends anymore." I laughed. "That's true for every couple." Lisa shook her head lightly, a hint of self-mockery on her face. "For him and me, it would only be the latter. That's why I'd rather not say anything. I don't want to lose him as a friend." Seeing her like this, I realized her crush on Keith ran much deeper than I had thought. It might even affect her future relationships or choices in a partner.
