Chapter 359 Time To Make a Statement
Alex didn't give any warning to the big powers because he knew when they knew he was uncomfortable with something, they would definitely do it, and its end would be a war without an end where, even with the restrictions, he would find ways to make them suffer immense losses.
Alex didn't want to start a war that would have no end because he had other important things to focus on, and dealing with tens of power-hungry basterds was not one of them.
The following week went without much of an issue, as the organization lost close to three hundred players in total, with only a tenth of them belonging to the Twilight Embers school.
Alex also personally talked to the school elders on their stand because he was worried about their safety as he didn't care if the organization lost 90% of the members, knowing they were replaceable, but he didn't want any blood to be spilled, which could be easily avoided.
They openly admitted to Alex that the Gedeon and Donatelli families supported them and promised to shield them from harm while also emphasizing that their allegiance was with the organization and that they were not becoming moles for either family.
The families aimed to foster positive relations with the organization while securing support from the students who would potentially rise as influential figures within its ranks over time.
Alex confirmed his words after checking his messages, as Alden had sent a message two weeks ago when threats had just started to come, which he didn't check like he always did.
Alex knew that the two families were trying to get support in the organization without getting on their bad side, and it cost them nothing besides a few words to the people at the upper level.
If the organization didn't like their involvement, they had the perfect excuse that they were just trying to help and step back peacefully, keeping their good-guys image.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAlex didn't take issue with their clever maneuvers, and in fact, he appreciated that they saved him several promising talents, but that didn't mean he was going to give them every individual whose identity was discovered and ask them to protect them.
Where the threats and fear were costing the organization many talented individuals, they were also serving the purpose of filtering out members who struggled to keep secrets, lacked trustworthiness, or were easily traceable.
In the week after Alex made the members leave who wanted to and removed those who were found after paying them, there were few members, mostly those who had sold their loyalty, who started to raise questions toward the organization.
They asked the organization to make a compromise, while few said the organization didn't have any power and they were just being run by a lucky individual who became the Domain Ruler.
Alex knew that the big powers were frustrated and understood that, logically, with all the evidence, the organization should not be what it was making itself appear to be, but with its previous dealings with the four factions, things didn't line up.
So they were using their puppets to see what the organization would do to resolve the chaos, but too bad for them, as Alex kept silent, not even making a move on those who had already sold their loyalty.
Alex would get rid of those jokers and make his statement against those big powers when the domain had become a public topic, and his organization was the number one enemy of every player.
A post about the Malefis Domain had also made its way onto the official forums as a small guild posted about it, and it generated quite a discussion among the players, but most just believed the guild did it to gather attention.
Alex spent the following week gathering the legacies he knew, whether they were scattered around in the form of broken legacy items or rewards for hunting down a particular world boss.
But he didn't just go from one position to another as even though his guardians didn't question his actions, they did see everything, so he would rather keep things as vague as possible and not give them any wild ideas.
In the seven days, Alex gathered eight legacies, six of them being S Rank and two being SS Rank, while he also unintentionally stumbled into a female named Elena, who was a pretty special lady or at least was going to become one.
Elena Cruz was from a fairly rich background, was highly educated, and was widely recognized as a genius and her reputation stemmed from her pivotal role as the driving force behind the management of a guild.
Upon her arrival, the guild ranked beyond two hundred, yet within three years, she propelled it to a position within the top seventy, and she achieved this feat by introducing various new income streams, identifying and capitalizing on diverse trends, and implementing strategies that significantly benefited her guild.
Alex knew little about her as she became famous a year before he returned in time, but he decided to hire her and find out if she was valuable.
If even half of what he heard about Elena was true, he could have a good individual to manage the guilds and projects linked to Shiekh that were eating away at his and Venedikt's daily time.
On the seventh day, an event happened that caused the organization's members to dwindle to four eighty, losing more than two hundred in just a few hours, and the reason was the great fear and unrest.
A month and a week had passed since Alex made the deal with the five factions, and it was the first day of the sixth week when the big powers started to show a glimpse of what they were willing to do.
The members who had their identity discovered in the real world didn't just receive threats, but instead, they faced great inconvenience or, more accurately, torture to send a message to the organization and other members.
Three individuals were unlucky enough to have their identities exposed, or at least they were the ones who made it back online, and they were exposed by a friend they made among the members before all the chaos began.
The first person lost his home because some company had bought the land years ago, and minutes after they received this news, his father was arrested because of possession of drugs, and the minimum sentence was said to be six months.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe second individual suffered a similar fate, but as he lived alone, he was thrown into jail for two hours before being released on bail, while the third person was a girl who had a few criminals barge into her home, tie her up before telling her that the next girl would not be left unscathed before they left.
Alex expected such things to happen, and even worse, because he knew how dark the world he lived in was, so he didn't get emotional when he heard the incidents from Venedikt.
Eleven more members logged out and hadn't logged in even after eight hours, while fourteen members left the organization just hours before this incident happened.
So, from what Venedikt knew, fourteen members could be targeted, with three coming back, while the fourteen individuals responsible for the mess had left the organization.
However, that didn't mean he would not make a stand now because he knew that this was the time to make a statement, and if he did not do it next time, things wouldn't end nicely.
Alex did not know if these eleven missing individuals were working for the big powers, but for the time being, he focused on taking care of the situation of the three individuals by asking Alden to take care of it, in under half an hour.
While players were leaving the organization like a death sentence had been announced, the news of the Malefis Domain being a real continent and all its benefits in detail was swiftly spread through the official forum, as every big guild was sharing it.
The Shadow Oblivion organization was being painted as the villain, and the five factions were not spared as their names were getting dragged through the forums, but they couldn't care less as their stock prices were skyrocketing.
After giving instructions to Alden, Alex told Venedikt that he was going to destroy three main guild cities of major guilds to send a message.
Venedikt quickly informed him that he should just destroy one, not even questioning how he would destroy three cities with top-grade defense and millions of members ready to defend them.
Venedikt informed him that they would be making a statement alright, but it could be too much, and it could cause them to get in difficulties with both the powers of the Human Empire and even with Zero, as he couldn't let Alex use his influence unchecked.
They would also be becoming enemies of all the big guilds, but Alex informed him to chill out and just wait for the live stream because he was going to put on a show.
