Chapter 380 Hidden Space
After the Voidshifter entered the void, Alex started using his eyes of the ancient to see any disturbance in space to pinpoint the exit so he could catch the creature in his state in between intangibility and physical.
As the space isolation barrier was in place, the Voidshifter couldn't escape even if he wanted, so Alex waited for the creature to exist, with his sword pulsing with sword intent and the dense veil of chaotic mana, as he scanned his surroundings with vigilance.
The Voidshifter exited the void with his jaw wide open as his intangible body became physical, with him aiming to chomp down Alex's head.
At the same time, his arms were a blur, moving like phantoms on his left and right, and seeing it, Alex knew that a mental attack was coming to make him freeze in place so the creature could remove the individual he saw as a threat.
It was a calculated attack, as even though the creature was leaving his only weakness exposed for a moment, it was in the protection of his four limbs acting as a barrier against long-range attack, while the man before him would be frozen solid to do anything.
However, this attack was bound to fail, as the creature needed to exit the void and turn his mind fully physical to deliver a mental attack, which gave Alex the time to execute his attack. Alex, who stood prepared, instantly executed the Chaos Veil Reaper Slash, slicing through the brain that was close to completely turning physical and slamming into the core with all his build moment and energy, cracking it open.
The Voidshifter shifter died in an instant, and the three elves, who had just noticed its presence, stood stunned, looking at Alex, who had already dealt with the creature.
Xylena complimented Alex for his skills and started small talk, trying to uncover his origin, but she now was more vigilant around him as they moved to find other Voidshifters.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn the following seven hours, they hunted the remaining nine Voidshifters, and Alex successfully tested the Temporal Beacon, Paradox Pulse, and Chrono Displacement in battle.
The Temporal Beacon skill, like others skills, also received an upgrade after his rank promotion, and now, instead of three, he could mark up to seven places and could teleport up to five times consecutively before the skill went on a cooldown of Six hours.
The skill took just an instant to teleport him, so if used with proper preparation, it could give him a great edge in battle, while the other two skills were also great but also a bit tricky to use to gain maximum advantage.
The Paradox Pulse was arguably the best target skill, as it could even affect a peak Elementalist for some time, but it didn't freeze their body in place and instead, it made them repeat their previous few seconds of actions again and again.
The skill could be used in various scenarios, but its best use would be to end a battle or disrupt a truly dangerous attack.
The Chrono Displacement also was nothing short of a wild skill, as even though the chance to turn intangible didn't stack after every three seconds, its effects were instantaneous, and if used correctly, it could throw even the strongest of opponents off or make him take a deadly attack head-on.
After the tenth Voidshifter was killed, which also was ironically killed solely by Alex, with him having killed five alone and helping in the majority of every other battle, the elves saw him with respect and alertness, as his skills were unusual, to say the least, leaving quite an impression on them.
Xylena offered him ten life essence droplets, but Alex just took three, manipulating her into giving him a grey royal badge of recognition that gave him many benefits in any elven city, but it also allowed him to join the Nighthaven clan territory as an Aurora Warden or directly take the Royal Guard test.
Now, Alex could skip the process of first finding a target that he could remove and take his place to get into the Royal Guard and, from there, see if he needed to further replace someone to get the information about the Emperor.
After some small talk, Alex parted ways with the group and made his way straight to the towering trees at the edge of the Eldoria Vale, and there he started his search for the entrance.
Alex knew the entrance was in a massive tree that was hollow from the inside, with a passage leading to an underground area with an opening of a small underground lake.
There was hardly anyone present because of the low density of mist, so no one was present to see Alex wandering through the forest, scanning every single tree for the entrances.
It took more than an hour, but Alex finally located the tree with the lake, and without any delay, he told his guardian to make contact with him when he reached the bottom before he put on the legacy ring and dived into the cold water of the small lake opening, swimming to its bottom.
As he reached the bottom, Alex felt two hands on both of his shoulders and with a calm breath, he touched the rocky floor with his left hand that had the ring.
The ring that turned dark from the erosion of time pulsed with energy as it sucked mana like a leach, its erosion eroding away with every passing moment and revealing the pure white crystalline ring hidden below.
Alex felt a searing heat in his finger for a moment before his body felt the subtle pressure of space displacement, and before he even opened his eyes, he instinctively corrected his body just in enough time to land on his feet.
As Alex opened his eyes, he was welcomed by a bright light similar to the sun, yet it was warm and full of life, and before him was the breathtaking realm of beauty. A deep breath told him that air was rich with the essence of radiant mana, its density tenfold that of the world outside, and this pocket dimension, hidden from the outside world, was a sanctuary bathed in the ethereal glow of light elemental laws.
Golden and white lush trees, their leaves shimmering like precious gems, stood tall and proud, with their branches reaching towards a calm blue sky that had faded clouds. The air itself seemed alive, carrying with it the serene energy of the light element. It was as if each breath filled one's lungs with purity and tranquility, a soothing balm to the spirit.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe ground beneath Alex's feet was soft, covered in a carpet of delicate, luminescent flowers and grass that emitted a gentle glow.
Alex could feel a profound sense of connection to the life that thrived here, an intricate dance of coexistence with the radiant laws that permeated every inch of the space.
Alex used the airwalk and jumped high into the sky to get a better look at his surroundings, as he was surrounded by lush, towering trees that blocked any view after a hundred meters.
Alex saw the land stretching for as far as his eyes could reach, and his surroundings were nothing but towering trees, that were white in color and resembled the rare Aelorion dawn blossom trees.
But a single appraisal told him that the thousands of surrounding trees were legendary-grade Seluvarith Luminara trees that produced a fruit named Starlume Fruit that could raise one's talent with all light elements and also raise one's vitality.
The few creatures that he saw in this fairyland were challenging to locate in the outside world, as he saw a giant Moonshadow Fox resting in the warmth of light, a majestic Radiance Gryphon soaring in the sky, and a plethora of other land and sky creatures.
Alex stood stunned as he saw nothing of such nature in the video published by Boras, as all he showed was the common-looking pond that he called the pond of rebirth and told about it and also showed small clips of a few rare light element creatures.
But that was about it, so Alex was not expecting the pocket space to be this vast and magical, yet his shock was little compared to his two guardians as they scanned the entirety of space that stretched for tens of kilometers.
They were not surprised by the creatures, various natural treasures, or the high density of light laws but were surprised by what possibly or more likely was the source of all these things.
The majestic tree was no larger than a few meters, its crystalline leaves and bark pulsing with energy like the majority of trees in the surroundings, yet it had a nobility of its own that made it stand out, like a true king among the soldiers.
The two guardians gazed at the tree, and it gazed back at them with a gentle voice, welcoming them into his humble abode.
