MMORPG : Rebirth Of The Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 735: Shrinking Regus down to size( The council of monarchs )
The agenda began rotating over the next week where in 7 days 9 new resolutions were discussed.
Most of these resolutions were only pertaining to a particular monarchy and with everyone hoping to push their own agendas they also supported the petty agendas of other monarchs so that they could rally support for themselves when the time came.
Not every resolution brought to the table was morally correct.
The suggestion of Beniogre to make the wrongdoers of dark faction do ' Penance ' by serving her church was by no means a morally correct suggestion-
Neither was the Elf king's suggestion to use exclusively use dark elves as ' Contracted ' labour to grow his empire.
While the word used was ' Contracted ' the finer details showed that the dark elves were going to be paid pennies and were meant to work as slaves at the whim of their masters who reserved the right to judge and punish them at will.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt was a blatantly exploitative proposal, but not a single monarch opposed it including Beniogre as she conveniently looked the other way over the matter because the Elf King did the same for her.
Neatwit, Patricia and Cervantez did have a sidetalk where they discussed whether or not they should oppose such proposals, but in the end Neatwit decided against it since they still needed to rally support for Max's cause.
While 8 of the 9 resolutions passed without a hitch, the only resolution that failed miserably and without a proper discussion was Regus Aurelius's proposal to have complete self-governance over vampire society issues.
From the very moment he brought that resolution to the floor, Rhea, the Elf King, Neatwit, Cervantez and Patricia all opposed the motion right from the get-go as Regus was slapped hard in the face and his motion was dismissed within 5 minutes of him bringing it to the table.
Regus had tried to play it sneakily, disguising Max's issue under a bigger goal but there was not a single monarch in the room who was dumb enough to fall for such a petty trick.
Neatwit was going to bring Max up as his second agenda, that much was clear and he was not going to let Regus get away with his atrocities unanswered.
Since Neatwit's own motion to bring back Rudra failed partly because of Regus, there was no love lost between the two and it was clear that Neatwit was going to make his life a living hell with whatever proposal he brought even after this one.
Soon, it was Micheal's turn again and the table had gone a full circle.
The King of Angel's second proposal sought to reform the existing safe-zones into their own pocket dimensions instead of planets such that every safe-zone harboured a wild-zone inside where players could level up to reach the next tier faster.
It was an ambitious project that would see the creation of many small dimensional battlefields and completely change the structure of existing safe-zones, but the advantages of such a proposal were clear as it would undoubtedly help groom talent better and faster.
For 6 hours, there was debate on the finer details of the plan, mostly on what type of monsters and upto what level to be brought on which tier field, but the idea itself was well thought out and beneficial for all and hence passed with a complete majority.
With over 2 hours still left till the end of the day's discussion, the floor was passed to Neatwit once more as he stood up and spoke with a very calm voice.
" As citizens of a shared universe, we must discuss the creation of universal law.
Say for example, the daughter of the Elf King marries into the True Elite Monarchy and is subjected to unfair treatment.
Naturally no father will see her daughter be bullied for no reason and there could be war over such a matter when it could otherwise have been settled peacefully by an unbiased judge.
To prevent friction between us light faction monarchies over such sensitive issues that fall under joint arbitration, I think it's imperative to form an universal court of law that can settle disputes.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe judge presiding over such cases needs to be neutral and can be anyone of the 9 other monarchs except the involved parties who both parties agree on.
This way, we can interact, trade and set up relations between our monarchies without the fear of being cheated or misinterpreted.
What say you all? " Neatwit said as he too disguised Max's issue under a beautiful package which compelled the neutral parties to take his side over the issue.
Naturally, Regus's face turned sour when Neatwit brought this proposal to the council table as he immediately voiced his opposition.
" I think it's too tricky to classify what issues can be considered universal issues and what can be considered local issues.
Law is a precise endeavour and such inconsistencies can prove to be challenging…. "
" Ohh, don't worry about that Lord Regus, I have a solution to classify as to what issues can be considered universal level issues-
If a monarchy is ready to go to WAR over an issue with another monarchy, it's a universal issue, otherwise it's not " Neatwit said as he cut Regus mid-way and deprived him of the chance to justify his opposition.
The threat of needless infighting was a serious issue and the universal court provided a decent way to avoid such conflicts.
With how beautifully Neatwit had wrapped up and phrased his proposal, he had won the support of 10 of the 11 monarchs as after a short discussion of about an hour his idea passed with a majority leaving Regus Aurelius huffing and puffing as he tried to rally support but to no avail.
Max had played his cards superbly, as he had managed to convince 6/11 monarchs in the meeting to vote for him from the start and by doing so he had effectively isolated Regus since the others would not antagonise the 6 just over Regus's empty disapproval.
Although it was a show of political strength, today he had brought the Vampire King to his knees and shrunk him down to size.
