Anna was already on the edge when the earth began splitting open at the area where she was fighting against the Mercenary soldiers, but when a massive shockwave came from the central battlefield, carrying with it dust and debris and lots of small rocks travelling at insanely high speeds she knew that some real heavyweights were fighting in the middle and if she did not want to die a futile death it was best to retreat.
Apparently the Mercenary soldiers had the very same idea as both sides unanimously decided to disengage and run for their lives after the first shockwave arrived.
It proved to be an extremely wise decision as just mere moments later the entire sky turned starry and a devastating divine attack was launched near the centre which was countered with a seemingly equally powerful move causing a massive explosion to take place.
Although the Bloodfall troops were outside the main area of impact where they would have been reduced to a pile of minced meat under the pressure, they were still forced to lay flat on the ground as they reduced the surface area exposure to as minimal as possible in hopes to survive the aftermath of the attack.
Entire boulders and trees and chunks of the earth came flying out this time around injuring several Bloodfall soldiers while also causing a small number of casualties as panic set in with soldiers scrambling to retreat once it was all over.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThankfully, no other massive attacks interfered with their retreat as the troops were able to pull out of the battle safely.
A similar scene was also prevalent on DarkSorrow's side of the battle, but there while DarkSorrow decided to pull out the Bloodfall soldiers, the Mercenaries decided to give them a chase and were caught in the aftermath of the two explosions suffering heavy losses.
As a result when the dust settled, DarkSorrow decided to charge at the disoriented troops as he turned the tide of the battle and forced them to retreat instead.
The sheer scale of destruction caused when two monarchs clashed was cataclysmic. If their attacks landed unchecked they could probably destroy entire planets by cutting the crust in half.
Max who had woken up after Angakok's five minutes was up, saw the distinct picture of Emperor Cervantez holding Kane's decapitated head dripping with blood in his hands before the fatigue of how Angakok manoeuvred his body caught up to him causing him to blackout.
He had incurred a very fat mana debt this time as Angakok in his desperation to keep Max alive against a monarch level opponent had pushed his mortal body to its absolute limits and beyond, causing the debt he owed to the god to be exponential.
Thankfully, the clone was still awake in the aftermath of the battle and he carried Max's main body to safety as the only reminder of the devastating battle that had happened in the region was the dead body of the sovereign Kane which was surrounded by several priceless objects.
The clone, understanding full well how valuable the loot really was, robbed everything from the sovereign's divine javelin to his armour to whatever objects laid beside him.
He was almost ready to leave when he recalled that somewhere Ferox's corpse should be there for the taking as well, however, when he did find the corpse he was surprised to see that it was already robbed clean.
Not daring to dally much longer in the area for the fear of another sovereign arriving, he ran away without trying to look for the missing loot.

( Meanwhile Sebastian )
Sebastian was absolutely enjoying hero's treatment from all the vampire women he had just saved when the first explosion blew every last tent in the camp he was in away and alongside the tents went his dignity as a strong and brave warrior as his cowardly instincts kicked in.
The same man who was a visage of calm and cool just mere moments ago began screaming and panicking like a bitch as forced all his undead troops in the vicinity to create a perimeter around himself while he shouted at all the surviving women to touch him and form a human chain.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm" DON'T YOU WASTE A SINGLE SECOND YOU DUMB BI***, I'M TOO HANDSOME TO DIE SO YOUNG, HURRY, HURRY, HURRY "
" Oh master Kremeth, I'm sorry I dropped my guard for a few seconds around this women and forgot my core values, I'll never try to be brave again just let me get out of this alive "
" YOU- WOMAN! GRAB MY MAN BOOBS BUT JUST HOLD ONTO ME "
Sebastian made sure that everyone was connected to him before activating his teleportation token as he teleported alongside everyone wayy back at the Aurelius fortress.
Of Course it was a blessing in disguise as just seconds later a much more powerful second wave came which would have absolutely killed him if he were in the vicinity, which meant that his cowardice had helped saved hundreds of lives.
Of Course as a result of his actions, the women who saw him as their saviour and as a brave warrior were no longer attracted to him as they understood his true nature.
Although they were still polite and thanked him for saving their lives, they were no longer swooning over him as they dispersed to thank the Aurelius clan soldiers and began singing praises of the king Regus Aurelius for sending a team to save them.
Naturally Sebastian couldn't care less, he liked playing the hero, but he valued staying alive even more.
When he did arrive safely back at the fort he went down on his knees and prayed piously to Kremeth for saving his life today as he internally vowed to never get distracted by playing the hero ever again.
He was a coward and under no circumstances could he change his demeanour.
Because even a second of slacking could lead to the death of a small dwarf like him, an outcome Sebastian feared more than not being able to perform in bed.
