"We should keep moving, and keep an eye out in case of other players," Alex said as they walked back.
"We're going to get a lot for selling all these plants, I'm so excited," Gabriel said with a smile.
"Does the currency in the game have any use in the outside world?" Rebecca asked.
"No, you can only use it in the game... I'm sure you have read light s about in-game currency being used in real life" Max spoke.
"Yes...but if it can only be used in the game, why are you so excited about it?" she asked Gabriel.
"The currency can be used to buy items in the game, quality items give you the best chances at surviving, and all the top players have quality items" Gabriel explained.
"So you mean, even if you are not powerful but you have a powerful weapon you can beat anyone?"
"It just gives you an advantage, especially over beasts, not other players, if you have a powerful weapon and you can't use it, what's the use of the weapon," Alex said.
"Then if you leave the city we should head to the next one immediately, there is a city where they teach martial art, magic, and train swordsmen," Max said.
"I've heard of that before, then we can be adventurers and get money from quests, that's nice," Alex said.
"Do you know where the city is?" Rebecca asked.
"Check your map" Max shouted.
"Sorry, I'm still a little new remember," Rebecca said but then Max realized that he was in Alex's room and a bunch of men were outside at Rebecca's command.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout, " Max said with a smile and Rebecca smiled back, she didn't know what was going on.
The group looked at the map as they walked through the forest, unlike the time they came, rays of sunlight penetrated the trees and gave light to the forest.
After leaving melmond, the next big city was pretty far away but there were smaller cities and villages close by and Alex wasn't going to leave any of them unvisited.
"I see the city you are talking about but damn it's far, are we going on foot?" Gabriel asked.
"We can buy horses, that would make our journey easier," Max said.
"Horses...who here knows how to ride a horse?" Alex asked and all of them looked at themselves then Rebecca spoke.
"Me..." she said softly.
"You know how to ride a horse...really?" Gabriel asked, he was surprised and so were the rest of them.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"My dad taught me how to ride horses when he was home, we had a white horse named charlotte"
"Okay...so only Rebecca knows how to ride a horse and we don't even know how much each of them costs"
"We don't need to know how much they cost, we'll be getting a fortune soon" Gabriel shouted.
"You are right," Max said.
"You know we are in a forest where we can be attacked at any time and you are shouting that you have a fortune, isn't that kinda dumb," Alex said.
"Who would want to attack us, you are at level 12, Rebecca is at level 7, I and Max are at level 8, who would dare attack us," Gabriel said.
"You are right, but we are still not complete, we need someone from the shooter class, a marksman or an Archer," Max said.
"We need another player! we are already four in number, isn't this enough, if Gabriel learns more spells then he would be the shooter in our group" Alex said.
"He won't be as good, and the shooter class is really helpful" Max spoke.
"Yes, yes the shooter class is really helpful, hehehe" a figure mumbled from the tree he sat at.
The figure wore a black coat and held a revolver in his hand, the group wasn't that close to him but he could hear them coming closer so he had to stay still.
"Why are you mumbling, did you find someone?" another figure asked.
"Just sit quietly and ready your weapon, they would be here soon"
Both of them were from the shooter class, a hitman and a marksman, the hitman had two revolvers, one in his hand and the other strapped to his waist while the marksman held his flintlock pistol with both hands.
'I should check my stats, and Huntress hasn't messaged me back, I guess she doesn't want anything to do with a newbie'

[You have Reached Level 10!]
[You can choose your first skill!]
[Skill: Shadow Camouflage - Critical Impact - Camouflage]
'Huh...skills...why are they showing now, well not that I'm complaining, I have to choose among three'
Alex pressed the description of each of the skills and more information popped up.
[Shadow Camouflage] User have the ability to blend into dark places and shadows and become undetectable.
[Critical Impact] User has a 3% chance of completely killing his victim with one hit, regardless of where the victim is hit.
[Camouflage] User have the ability to be completely invisible for 10 seconds when the skill is activated, cooldown time is 24 hours.
'The three skills are all good but they all have flaws, first the shadow camouflage is completely useless during the day except I go into a cave or so, and blending with the darkness doesn't make me invisible'
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm'Then critical impact–well I wouldn't say this skill isn't good but it has only a 3% chance, meaning I can't hope on this skill to save myself'
'Camouflage is a great skill but it gives only 10 seconds a day, that's pretty useless'
Alex stopped walking and was deeply in thought about what skill he would choose without realizing that his friends were shouting his name.
"Hey" Gabriel hit his shoulder.
"What..." Alex shouted in shock.
"What are you thinking about, you were in thought since and now you just stopped, what's wrong?" Gabriel asked.
"I don't know which skill I would choose," Alex said.
"You got your skill, which one did you choose?" Max asked.
"I just told you, I don't know which skills to choose, I was given three options," Alex told him.
"What are skills?" Rebecca asked.
"Every ten levels, a player is given three skills to choose only one, skills are like powers that help you in battle," Gabriel told her.
"What are the options, I can help you"
"Shadow camouflage, critical impact, and camouflage," Alex said.
"Shadow camouflage must be an ability to blend into shadow but that is useless when fighting a player or beast in daytime, and they are useless against beasts with powerful tracking abilities like wolves" Max explained.
"Critical impact must be like a super strike, that would be good, but it also has restrictions right?" he asked.
"Only 3% chance..."
"...3, that's worst than the shadow stuff, then camouflage makes you invisible but the problem with that skill must be the duration"
"Not only the duration but the cooldown time, 10 seconds duration and 24 hours cooldown, that makes it also useless" Alex sighed.
"It's your first skill so it won't be that powerful, the next skill would be better so you should just choose any of them, they are equally useless," Max said and Gabriel laughed.
"What's funny?" Max asked.
"The way you called the skills useless is really funny, we should keep moving, you can take your time to choose, it isn't running anywhere" Gabriel spoke.
Alex's eyes captured two dark shadows on the tree a few meters away and he quickly looked down and acted like nothing was wrong, he knew he saw two players in the trees, and judging from that, they were probably shooters or assassins.
'They are likely shooters, I wouldn't be able to see them if they were assassins, so we are already in their range–how would we get away without raising suspicion'
"They are already in my range, should I take one of them," the marksman asked the hitman.
"You can only kill one and the rest would hide, they haven't noticed us, so allow them to come closer so I can be able to kill one of them" the hitman mumbled back.
