Jocelyn’s face stiffened as she called out, “Miss Sonnet!”

Snow Sonnet turned around and leaned against the basin. She cast a languid gaze at Jocelyn and said,

“You’re really refusing to leave my side! Walter and I ran into you when we just returned to the country.

Can you not live without men by your side?”

There was an awkward expression on Jocelyn’s face. She straightened herself stiffly and looked at

Snow. “Pay more attention to what you say!”

Snow raised her freshly-manicured nails on one hand and caressed the gems on her nails with her other

hand. She laughed nonchalantly. “Pay attention… What should I pay attention to?”

She paused and stared straight at Jocelyn. She spoke in a sarcastic tone, “To be honest with you, if I

were to pay attention to something, I should be cautiously watching you to prevent you from seducing my

fiancé instead!”

Jocelyn’s pupils constricted as an unpleasant expression appeared across her face. “Miss Sonnet, I have

a boyfriend. I hope that you can stop your persecution paranoia!” Snow put down her hand casually and

glanced at her. “Are you referring to Howard Jung?” Jocelyn pursed her lips tightly. “No!” Snow huffed

coldly and said, “You must have asked a random man to act like your boyfriend again. Do you think that

I’ll believe you?”

Jocelyn could not stand it anymore. “Snow Sonnet, don’t cause trouble!”

After speaking, Jocelyn turned around and walked away. As soon as she walked to the entrance of the

toilet, Snow’s cold voice rang out, “Jocelyn White!”

Jocelyn froze. She still could not stand up straight in front of Snow Sonnet. That was because she had

almost become an intruder into someone else’s relationship back then. This was something that she

found completely unacceptable.

Walter had not clarified things to her back then. However, Walter had protected her for many years. She

could not really blame him for this.

Therefore, she could only distance herself from both of them. However, trouble was looking for her when

Jocelyn was about to leave. Snow felt humiliated. Her voice was tinged with rage as she shouted out,

“Jocelyn White, back then, I thought that you would back off after I told you about my relationship with

Jocelyn turned around with a heavy expression on her face. She glanced at Snow coldly and asked,

“What in the world are you trying to say?”

Snow spoke to her in a haughty tone, “Let me tell you this. Walter’s father, Zenith Keene, has five

siblings. He’s the youngest among his siblings. His elder siblings all dote on him a lot. The Keene family

has four sons and two daughters. The eldest son of the family is involved in politics, the second son is

working in the military, and the third and fourth sons, who both work in the military too, got into an

arranged marriage with a prominent businesswoman and politician, respectively!” Jocelyn glanced at

Snow expressionlessly. Snow continued speaking, “Meanwhile, Walter’s father, Zenith, is a

businessman. The Keene family is extremely prominent in Mauve City. You should know how powerful

their authorities and statuses are. It’s simply unimaginable. Besides, the Keene family is extremely close

to each other. Their family background is exceptional as well. Each family member has achieved

unattainable heights in the respective areas that they work in. Do you think that you can marry into such

a family?”

Snow cast a sarcastic glance at Jocelyn and said, “Or do you think that you’re a good match for Walter

given the background of the White family? Jocelyn White, let me tell you the truth. You can only dream of

marrying into the Keene family in your next life!”

Jocelyn stared at Snow. Suddenly, she felt like she could look past everything.

People loved showing off whatever they lacked the most.

Snow wanted to marry Walter and become part of the Keene family. She had been engaged with Walter

for so many years, but she was yet to officially marry him. She was flaunting the one thing that she

wanted but could not obtain.

Jocelyn suddenly laughed out loud and said, “You’re right. I’m not worthy of being part of the Keene

family. However, let me give you a kindly reminder. Snow Sonnet, you’re the one who’s going to marry

Walter, not your family background. If you aren’t clear about your own position, you’re still a failure and a

loser even if you get married to Walter as you so badly wish to!” Jocelyn left without turning around after

speaking.

Snow shouted out in rage, “You’re the true loser, Jocelyn White! What gives you the right to talk about

me like that!”

Jocelyn had no intention to bother about her.

Back then, she could not stand Snow’s belittling and mocking gaze. She felt like she had intruded into

their relationship.

Actually, she did not get together with Walter. She simply had a crush on him back then.

She could not forget her crush on him. However, she felt like she had done something wrong. Snow had

Walter’s gaze flashed as he said, “Jo, I’m very happy to see you again!” There was a calm expression on

Jocelyn’s face. “I’m really happy to see you again too! However, we’d better go in! I’ve been out for some

time!” Walter smiled and nodded. Obviously, he had gained courage after hearing Jocelyn address him

by his nickname.

When Jocelyn and Walter returned to the sofa where they were seated just now, some of the alumni

teased Walter. “Senior, didn’t you go to the toilet? Why did you come back so soon?”
