Jocelyn frowned and glanced at her phone screen. The call was from Lexie. She glanced at Zayn in the

guest room through the glass door. Zayn just happened to look over as well.

Jocelyn pointed at her phone and gestured that she had to pick up the phone. Zayn nodded with a

smile.

Jocelyn took her phone out and picked it up. “Hello!” “Jocelyn, I plan to get discharged today. Anyways, I

can just heal from my broken arm at home!” Lexie said in a cold voice. However, the tone of her voice

was tinged with rage

Jocelyn frowned. “Did something happen to you?”

Lexie had no intentions to hide anything from Jocelyn as well. She told her the truth. “Jim Rand keeps

pestering me. I don’t want to stay in the hospital anymore!”

Jocelyn instantly understood what had happened. She had been to the hospital a few times. She could

tell that Jim kept visiting Lexie’s room as well. Regardless of whether he really liked Lexie, or he was just

being playful, Lexie liked someone else. She would not be able to endure his tireless disturbance.

Jocelyn nodded and said, “Alright, I got it. I’ll head over to fetch you home later!” Lexie shook her head

and said, “It’s alright. You’re busy these few days. I’ll complete the discharge procedures on my own!”

Jocelyn spoke up in annoyance. “I’m not that busy yet. Wait for me. I’ll come over later!”

Lexie was not from Mauve City. She had stayed here after graduating so that she could look for Davis.

Jocelyn would not let her complete the discharge procedures on her own. After hanging up on the call,

Jocelyn went to look for Zayn. Zayn smiled and got up after seeing Jocelyn walk in. “Is your call over?”

Jocelyn nodded and said, “Right, Director Claud, why did you come over? If you want to overlook the

customization process, you should come over in the evening. Everyone should be out for lunch right

now!”

Zayn smiled and nodded. “I know. I came over in the afternoon to look for you. I wanted to have lunch

with you. You saved me a few days ago I haven’t managed to thank you!”

Jocelyn did not think of this. She was amused. “Aren’t you afraid of eating outside with me?” Zayn

chuckled and said, “I’ll treat you to dinner then!” Jocelyn could not help but burst out into laughter.

“Alright, let’s have lunch. However, I need to head to the hospital to help my friend complete the

discharge procedures!”

Zayn raised his brow. “Is it your friend with the broken arm?”

Jocelyn nodded and said in embarrassment, “Yes, it’s her. She doesn’t have friends in Mauve City. I

need to fetch her home, so it’ll take some time!”

Zayn smiled and looked at her. “It’s lunchtime now. Besides, I’m not your client. You don’t need to feel

embarrassed. Let’s do this. I’ll ask someone to complete the discharge procedures for her. We can head

over and fetch her for lunch. After that, you can send her home, and we can proceed to look at the

jewelry customization process. Everything fits well!” Jocelyn’s eyes shone as she looked at Zayn in

gratitude. “Thank you, Director Claude!” Zayn smiled and said, “There’s no need to be so courteous!

We’re friends!”

Jocelyn nodded with a smile. Jocelyn and Zayn headed to the hospital. After fetching Lexie, they headed

to a Mexican restaurant nearby the hospital for lunch.

After ordering their food, Lexie got up and headed to the washroom.

Jocelyn and Zayn were chatting in the room.

Lexie walked out of the room and closed the door. The door of the room opposite their room then

opened

Jim seemed to be following her. He pushed the door open with an arm laid in a cast.

Lexie’s expression darkened at once. “Were you following me?”

Jim had a shocked expression on his face when he caught sight of Lexie. However, he felt beyond

amused after hearing what Lexie said. “How would I know that you’d be coming here for lunch?”

He had no intentions to stay at the hospital for long. However, he found it fun to stay there since Lexie

was staying next to his ward. Therefore, he had stayed in the hospital for two days.

However, he did not expect to hear that Lexie had gotten discharged. He immediately got discharged

and called Skyler out for a meal.

Nonetheless, he did not expect to meet Lexie here.

Lexie looked at himn coldly. She frowned and walked toward the washroom straight away.

Jim followed her immediately. Lexie stopped and asked, “What do you want from me?” Jim looked at her

and laughed. “Tsk, I just wanted to head to the washroom. Stop acting like I’m your greatest enemy!”

Lexie’s face flushed red after she heard what he said. She turned around in a rage and quickened her

pace as she walked to the washroom

Jim could not help but laugh as he looked at Lexie’s silhouette. “We’re truly fated. She can’t hide from

me!”

Not long after Lexie returned to the room, the waiter served their dishes.

The waiter served them a few additional signature dishes. The waiter mentioned that the

young man from the opposite room had ordered these dishes for them! Jocelyn was stunned. Naturally,

she knew that a stranger would not order dishes for them for no reason. She then recalled how Lexie

had walked out once just now. She looked at her instinctively.

There was an unnatural expression on Lexie’s face. She did not want to tell Zayn and Jocelyn that Jim

had sent the dishes over.

She spoke up straight away. “They’re from one of my clients!”

If Lexie told them that it was from a friend, Jocelyn would not believe in her. However, Jocelyn would

believe in her if she said that it was from a client.

Lexie’s online alias was LX. She had unparalleled hacking capabilities. Ordinary people could not hire

her.

After lunch, they came out to pay the bill. However, the waiter told them that their bill had been paid for

as well.

Jocelyn glanced at Lexie. “It was your client?”

Lexie scolded Jim in her heart. She nodded stubbornly and said, “Yes, it should be!” Zayn smiled at

looked at Jocelyn. “It seems like I have another reason to treat you to a meal!” Jocelyn laughed. Three of

them walked out of the restaurant.

They had just taken a few steps when Jocelyn suddenly noticed a small white kitten lying in the grass

beside the road. It let out a weak meow. Jocelyn noticed that one of the kitten’s legs was injured since it

was white in color. She walked up and bent down to look at the injured kitten. She could not bear to

leave it here.” It’s so pitiful!”

When Skyler and Jim walked out after eating, they saw Jocelyn, Zayn, and Lexie nearby. They took a

step forward and heard Zayn telling Jocelyn, “You can rear it if you like it!”

Skyler looked at Jocelyn, who was squatting beside the road, instinctively. She heard what she said

clearly. “I would like to rear it as well, but I’m staying in someone else’s place right now. It won’t be

convenient for me to do so!”
