Chapter 73

Skyler’s expression darkened slightly. They were married. How could she refer to their place as someone

else’s place? Did he mistreat Jocelyn in any way? Why was she acting so cautiously in front of

everyone?

Jim blinked and looked at Skyler instinctively. There was a teasing gaze in his eyes. He seemed to be

asking if he had mistreated Jocelyn in any way.

Skyler glanced at her and shook his head, gesturing for him not to say anything. Lexie knew that Jocelyn

and Skyler were married on paper. She understood what Jocelyn meant. She knew that Jocelyn liked

cats. In the past, Michael banned her from having pets since Lily was allergic to animal fur. She spoke

up, “Jocelyn, I’ll rear it at my place. You can fetch it over when you get a permanent place to stay in the

future!”

Jocelyn raised her head and glanced at Lexie, who was standing by her side. Her gaze landed on her

arm. “You’re injured! It’s not convenient for you to take care of it!”

Zayn spoke up at the right time. “I’ll rear it at my place. You can fetch it over to your place in the future if

you’d like to!” Jocelyn felt slightly embarrassed. She turned around to look at Zayn. “How can I…” She

then stopped talking abruptly. She caught sight of Skyler and Jim standing together behind Zayn.

Skyler was expressionless whereas Jim had a teasing look on his face. She did not know how long they

had been here and how much of their conversation they had overheard.

Zayn sensed the change in Jocelyn’s demeanor. He turned around instinctively as well. Jocelyn looked

at Jim and immediately understood what had happened. Skyler and Jim were the ones who sent them

the dishes and paid for their bill. She was so shocked that she forgot to even ask them about it. She

blurted out at once, “You guys were in the opposite room just now!” Jím smiled and nodded.

Jocelyn felt extremely done. She glanced at Lexie and asked, “Didn’t you say that it was from your

client?”

Jim laughed and said, “Xixi, since when did I become your client? Why don’t I know anything about

that?”

Lexie glared at him with an unpleasant look on her face. Obviously, she did not want to talk nonsense

with him. “I’ll pay you back the amount that you spent on our bill!”

Jocelyn’s gaze flashed as she stood up”Thank you for paying the bill for us just now, President Moore

and Mr. Rand. Are you guys leaving now?”

Jocelyn could tell that they were about to leave since they had left the restaurant.

Once they told her that they were about to leave, she would bid them farewell.

After they left, she could remain at ease and take care of the injured white kitten. Skyler took a step

forward as soon as she finished speaking. He looked behind her and asked,” Is this cat injured?”

Jocelyn’s expression tightened. She did not understand what Skyler meant. She replied honestly, “Its leg

is injured!”

Skyler walked past Jocelyn. She watched in shock as he took the weak kitten in his arms and reached

out to pat its head. “How pitiful!” Jocelyn was in slight disbelief. Skyler had taken the cat in his arms.

Besides, the stray cat was extremely dirty since it had been homeless for some time.

Her voice was rather dry. “President Moore, you’re…”

Skyler cast an icy look at her. “I’ll bring it to the vet and get it healed. Is there any problem with that?”

Jocelyn shook her head at once. “No, but you…Are you going to rear it?”

Skyler glanced at Jocelyn and said, “I’ll rear it since I’ll be sending it to the vet. Otherwise, do you think

that I’ll let it continue being a stray cat after sending it to the vet?”

Jocelyn glanced at Skyler in a daze. Somehow, she felt that there were implications behind Skyler’s

words.

After speaking, Skyler stopped looking at her. He then carried the cat and walked toward his

car.

Jim did not expect things to happen to progress in this direction. Skyler, who made sure to always keep

everything clean, actually managed to carry a dirty kitten in his arms. Jim looked like he had been struck

by lightning. He watched as Skyler left. He then chased after him at once.

Jocelyn frowned, turned around, and told Zayn, “Let’s go, Director Lang!” 1

As soon as Jim got into the car, he saw Skyler taking off the suit jacket that he was wearing just now. He

wrapped the jacket around the kitten and placed it in the back seat of his car. He then wiped his hands

with a wet tissue.

Jim glanced at Skyler evaluatively and said, “Tsk tsk tsk, did you get possessed by someone else? I find

it hard to believe that you’d touch this dirty little thing!”

Skyler raised his brow and threw the wet tissue that he had used to wipe his hands in the rubbish bin. He

glanced at the small furry thing in his backseat. “It’s rather cute!”

Jim looked at the kitten, which was wrapped in Skyler’s customized suit jacket. The corners of his lips

twitched as he laughed drily. “Hah…is that so?”

There must be something wrong with his eyes. He really could not tell how the kitten was

adorable!

It was no different from an ordinary cat! Skyler started the car. Jim could not help but ask, “Did you

decide to rear that cat because of Jocelyn White?”

Skyler glanced at him expressionlessly. “You’re overthinking!” Jim’s gaze flashed as he said, “Is that

so?”

Jocelyn told Davis that she would be heading out of the office to accompany a client to oversee the

process of jewelry customization.

She sent Lexie home together with Zayn. After that, they headed over to the jewelry customization

factory.

Initially, Jocelyn intended to watch the jewelry customization process together with Zayn. She told the

masters in the factory about the customization process and the parts that they needed to pay attention

to. After that, she returned to the company.

Somehow, Lynn found out about her being in the factory. She insisted on coming over as well.

Jocelyn had no choice but to agree to her request. After Lynn came over, she would accompany her and

look at the production steps of the process of her jewelry customization.

It was past office hours after she finished working. Jocelyn then drove home straight away. Jocelyn
