Although Skyler had carried the white kitten away, Jocelyn was still in a state of shock.

However, she still found it hard to believe that Skyler would really rear this kitten. After noticing the

changes in the living room right now, an indescribable feeling surged into her heart.

She walked over with light steps and noticed that the kitten was clean now. It lay on its bed like an

adorable pile of white fur. There was a bandage around its injured leg. It seemed like someone had

treated its wound.

Jocelyn squatted down and reached out to caress the kitten’s body.

The kitten opened its eyes slightly and poked out its little tongue to lick Jocelyn’s finger. Jocelyn’s heart

instantly melted.

She was just about to rub the kitten’s neck. She knew that cats loved it when their necks got rubbed.

They would purr happily due to the comfort. However, a deep voice rang out behind her when she placed

her hand on the kitten’s neck.” Whitie!”

Jocelyn turned around at once. She saw Skyler staring at her and the kitten with a lowered head. He was

dressed in casual clothing.

Jocelyn pursed her lips instinctively. However, before she could say anything, Skyler smirked and said, “I

was calling it!”

Jocelyn was stunned. She looked at the white kitten in her arms.

There was a hint of a smile in Skyler’s voice. “Its name is Whitie!”

Jocelyn recalled how Skyler had told her that he was calling the kitten just now. Did he assume that she

had thought that he was calling her instead?

Jocelyn blushed slightly. She stood up and looked at Skyler intently. “Thank you!”

Regardless of whether Skyler genuinely wanted to rear this kitten, his actions still touched her.

Skyler glanced at her expressionlessly. He raised his brow and said, “I’m taking care of Whitie because

it’s adorable. What does it have to do with you?”

Jocelyn felt rather awkward. “L…I didn’t say that it had anything to do with me. I just feel that it’s pretty

good that you’ll be taking care of it!”

It used to be a stray cat It had now become the beloved pet or a wealthy man.

Skyler was obviously pleased by Jocelyn’s words. He smirked and teased Jocelyn, “Really? I thought

that you were thanking me on its behall, Jocelyn White!”

Jocelyn blushed. She felt slightly awkward. “I didn’t!”

Skyler found it amusing when he recalled how Jocelyn always bickered against him. He said, ”

It’s fine. Aren’t you Jocelyn White? Or is it not Whitie?”

Jocelyn glared at Skyler with a flushed face. However, she did not have the strength to argue with him.

“What are you talking about? How childish!”

After speaking, Jocelyn walked up with a flush on her face. Skyler was slightly stunned. He thought

about how Jocelyn had glared at him just now. Somehow, that image of her was rather alluring.

His gaze flashed as he let out a low laugh.

Skyler looked at the white ball of fur on the bed. He bent down to rub the kitten’s neck. He said in a low

voice, “Tsk…Whitie, did Jocelyn White get shy?” After dinner, Skyler went upstairs. Jocelyn felt like

touching Whitie when she saw it nestled on the sofa.

She could not resist walking over. She sat down beside Whitie and opened the television. She patted

Whitie while watching television half-heartedly.

Initially, she had been rather at ease. However, before she was happy for long, Skyler came downstairs.

Jocelyn glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. She stiffened slightly. Why had he come downstairs?

Not only did skyler come downstairs, but he also walked toward Jocelyn straight away. He sat down on

the sofa beside Jocelyn and fixed his gaze on the television. Jocelyn pinned her gaze on the television

as well. One of the latest dramas was being broadcasted.

Just then, the male lead was jealous because the female lead had lied to him and had a meal with the

second male lead. Therefore, they both got into an argument.

The storyline was pretty normal. However, while they argued, the male lead suddenly caged the female

lead in his arms with a ferocious look on his face. He then kissed her passionately.

Jocelyn instantly blushed. She did not know where to look.

What was he trying to do? Could they not just get into an argument? Skyler moved his gaze away from

her awkwardly as well. Jocelyn moved her hand away from the kitten and grabbed the remote control by

the side. She then changed the channel in a hurry. She finally changed it to the news channel. She let

out a sigh of relief after hearing the boring news announcement. Skyler stared at Jocelyn for a while after

noticing her actions. A teasing smile suddenly flashed across his icy and handsome face. Jocelyn was

stunned. After that, she returned to her senses at once. She could not deny what she had done.

It was just a kiss scene. There was no need for her to pay this any mind.

Jocelyn was so awkward that she did not feel like saying anything. She blushed and lowered her head to

pat Whitie. Skyler’s gaze landed on her side profile. His gaze darkened when he saw the slight flushing

of her face. He gulped as well.

Upon recalling the kiss scene on the television just now, he felt his throat tighten. He thought that he was

wearing a tie, so he reached out to pull at his collar. However, he finally realized that he was not wearing

a tie when he placed his hand on his collar. His gaze landed on Jocelyn’s hand. He wanted to say

something to dispel the awkward air between them. “Do you like cats a lot?”

Jocelyn glanced at Skyler. Her face had returned to normal. She nodded and said, “I love them!” After

speaking, she paused and thought about how Skyler had brought Whitie back home. She questioned

him, “Do you like cats as well?”

Skyler could not help but think about what Jim had told him in the car after hearing her words. Since

when had he been interested in cats?

An unnatural expression suddenly formed on his face. He did not take Whitie in because he liked cats.

He heard that Jocelyn wanted to rear the cat. However, she asked Zayn for help because she was afraid

that he would not allow her to rear it at home. It made him feel extremely annoyed. He remained silent

for a while. Jocelyn thought that he would not answer his question. He hummed coldly and said, “I’ll go

upstairs first!”
