The temperature in the ward instantly increased.

She quickly pressed him down. “You haven’t recovered. Don’t walk around. Just lie down.”

When Duke raised his head, he saw her glowing eyes and slightly swollen red lips. Her every move

gave off a seductive charm.

Duke subconsciously gulped.

If he were not injured and they were not in a hospital, he might have actually subdued this woman right

there.

Adina tried to remain calm. She drank some water and said, “Your mother wants to make our

engagement party grand, but I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I think it would be better for us to

keep a low profile.”

Duke held her fingers and asked, “Why?”

“You’ve protected George and Harold so well, but I nearly exposed Alden and Mel to the media

because I offended someone.” Adina pursed her lips and said, “Once we’re engaged, the media will

definitely criticize Alden and Mel. I don’t want this to have a negative impact on the kids.”

Duke stared at her and firmly said, “Alden and Mel are my kids too. I want the public to learn about

them on our engagement day.” “No, you can’t!” Adina frowned and said, “Too many people are

watching the Winters family now. If the kids are exposed, the disadvantages will outweigh the

advantages. I don’t want any of our kids to be in any

potential danger.”

Duke pursed his lips tightly. How could he forget that Harold had gotten into an accident because of the

Fuller family not long ago?

The Fuller family had a grudge against the Winters family. If they could set up a trap to harm Harold,
