“She’s also my sister,” Theresa said, “and I didn’t say hello to her this morning because we weren’t on good terms.

She ran away so I married Charlie in her place. Are you satisfied?”

Eugene said to Charlie, “Mr. Calsis, I didn’t know. She didn’t tell me her real name. She only said her father forced

her to marry an old man with broken legs…” Suddenly, he realized Charlie was in a wheelchair. He hadn’t expected

things to turn out this way. He could only explain, “Actually, I don’t have any relationship with her. She didn’t tell me

who she was. I just thought she was pathetic so I took her with me. She’s not my girlfriend.”

Cristina looked at Eugene and sneered. “How can you lie to Charlie to prevent being punished?”

Eugene glanced at her and said seriously, “Charlie and I have known each other for a long time. I didn’t have to lie

to him, but I had to explain to him. How could I be interested in a woman who had hurt him?”

Charlie just drank water in silence. He knew Sarah was back, but he hadn’t expected her to come back with

Eugene. He couldn’t believe she was trying to hook up with Eugene.

Cristina sneered. “Yeah, right, she took your arm and talked to you this morning but you don’t have any

relationship!”

Eugene was speechless. He had thought Cristina hadn’t looked at him this morning. It seemed that she had been

concerned about him. He said with a smile, “Ms. Lagarde, you’re so attentive, but I’d dump her even if we were in a

relationship now that I know who she is.”

Cristina sipped some water from her glass and thought Theresa was right. She was smug and happy when

Eugene said he would dump Sarah! She felt much better. She came here to break them up but Eugene said they

weren’t in a relationship! He must have deliberately lied to her because she said she was the mother of the

children.

Theresa looked at Cristina and then at Eugene. She thought they were both drama queens, but it seemed that

Cristina was no longer angry.

Halfway through the meal, Eugene went to the bathroom and Cristina followed him out.

Charlie watched them walk out and then looked over at Theresa who was eating lettuce. “Is it good?”

“Yeah.” Theresa gave him a look. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Not only Charlie but also Leonard and

Ben were looking at her. She had goosebumps in front of these three identical faces.

Charlie asked, “Didn’t you go to breakfast with a friend? Why were you with Cristina?”

“I ran into her by chance,” Theresa replied casually.

Charlie snorted. “But you saw Sarah together this morning.”

Theresa had to change herself. “Well, we had breakfast together. She’s the friend.”

Charlie just stared at her seriously without saying anything.
