Chapter 349 - Majestic Government
''W-We survived!'' Lucas and Rick screamed in unison. They couldn't believe that they survived against all odds, and the way they survived was something that no one in their right minds would believe!
''Yay,'' Ichiro said with almost no enthusiasm whatsoever.
''Hmm, why aren't you happy?'' Lucas asked, still having a thrilled look on his face, ''We survived! All because of you!''
''Ah, I don't think it's over.'' Ichiro said and rubbed his painful feet, ''We need to be prepared for more missiles to arrive.''
Lucas' and Rick's thrilled looks vanished into a cloud of smoke.
''W-Why are they targeting you?'' Lucas asked. He kept wondering why they would target a young man like Ichiro for nothing, and he was already pride of the younger generation; it doesn't make any sense for them to try to kill him when he has done so much for Arya.
''Not sure, but it doesn't matter.'' Ichiro sighed and closed his eyes; he started pretending that he was asleep, so he won't be disturbed because his mind was going on overdrive.
'Maybe I can act ignorant in the airport when people from Government pops up… I wonder what Aether has said to them….'
Lucas and Rick whispered about ways to calm down the passengers but still prepare them for something unexpected.
They soon made a plan, which soon commenced as Rick stood up and left the cockpit.
'It would be best if Aether hasn't said anything to them yet… Maybe I can then lie that Aether and I were sleeping when we got attacked and was instantly knocked out.' Ichiro hates to rely on luck, but if things go sideways, he was prepared to do whatever was needed for survival.

''What happened?!'' The passengers started shouting simultaneously after seeing Rick appearing.
Rick stopped at first seats and started talking as calmly as possible, ''There is good and bad news….''
The passengers gulped and waited with nervousness.
Bonney and Olivia unbuttoned their belts and stood up with the rest of the flight attendants.
Their hearts started beating in nervousness as they waited for the news.
Rick nodded after seeing that everyone's attention was on him.
''Well… The good news is that the missiles missed the plane!'' His voice shook at the end of his sentence because it still feels unreal that they managed to survive.
The passengers looked stunned and soon started to celebrate loudly, but few calmer ones remembered that there was still bad news ahead.
Rick waved his hand, which calmed down the celebrations.
''Bad news is that…'' He took a deep breath, ''This might not happen, but we still need to be prepared.''
The passengers stayed silent and waited for the upcoming words.
''There might be more missiles incoming.'' Rick said and quickly continued before passengers starts screaming, ''So, please stay seated and use the belt at all times!''
''W-Why is this happening?!'' A middle-aged woman screamed and stood up with tears streaming down her cheeks. She was holding the hands of two very young-looking kids that weren't older than 10.
Rick bit his lip and decided not to answer, instead waved towards Bonney, who understood his message.
Bonney walked past the chairs and entered the cockpit with Rick while the screams of the passengers still rang in their ears.
''What happened?'' She asked without further ado. She felt very relieved like a mountain was lifted off from her shoulders, but she noticed some weird things not long ago.
She wondered how in the hell the missiles could miss the plan of this size!
Rick and Lucas pointed towards Ichiro.
Bonney frowned and didn't see anything special about the sleeping youth, but when she saw the floor… She couldn't believe her eyes.
''W-What?'' She looked at Lucas and didn't manage to open her mouth, but he knew what kind of question she had in her mind.
''That's right, it was all his doing.'' Lucas scratched his head, and he had to think deeply about how to explain what happened here to the press and to his superiors.
They will think he was crazy if he said that a 16-year-old young man kicked the floor, which pushed the plane down, and allowed them to dodge the missiles.
Even thinking about the faces his superiors will have, made him erase that thought from his mind.
…
Inside Arya's Government Headquarters.

A middle-aged man with bushy eyebrows slammed the glass table before him, ''What do you mean the missiles missed?!''
He looked at the PC screen in front of him, which showed a pale-looking man in a white lab coat. He was carrying a clipboard while hundreds of the people that worked under him were working tirelessly.
''S-S-Sir…'' The pale man managed to utter his words, ''T-The coordinates you received from Flight Control were perfect, and the missiles should have hit...''
''How did they miss?!'' The middle-aged man screamed and kicked the garbage can over, ''And no excuses!''
The pale man gulped and said his theory, ''This might be a very farfetched theory… But, there is a small chance of making the missiles miss by controlling the plane perfectly, but that needs more luck than skill.''
''So, you are saying that if we fire more missiles, chances of them surviving is zero?'' The middle-aged man asked and saw the pale man nodding shakily.
''Fire three more missiles!'' He ordered.
''B-but, sir!'' The pale man said with shaky tone, ''Three missiles might not be noticed by News Stations, but six will definitely raise eyebrows!''
''Doesn't matter!'' The middle-aged man shouted, ''Fire the missiles, or you will follow behind John!''
*Bam!*
He pressed a button, which turned the screen black.
''Tsk, everyone is useless.'' He sat down on the comfy leather chair, with large window panels behind him, which showed the majestic City, where Government's Headquarters were located.
''It's just one young man…'' He grabbed a cigarette and lit it up.
A small puff of smoke left his mouth, and a disgusting grin found its way on his face, ''Abyss was an annoying bastard, and his son-in-law isn't any different… They are all dogs in front of the majestic Government.''
