Chapter 1238 The man then looked at John nervously.
The other guests also looked at John, anticipating his reaction to the boy ruining his tuxedo.
John glanced at the boy behind the man. The boy was around four years old, slightly chubby and fair. He had
glistening eyes and looked absolutely adorable . He held the edge of his father‘s pants tightly with his head slightly
tilted as he cowardly peeked at John.
John curled his lips. “Is he your son?”
“Yes!” the man immediately said. He pulled the boy from behind him and urged, “Jack, apologize to Master
Stockton right away!”
John smiled. “It‘s okay. Why don‘t you bring him away and check if he‘s hurt by the broken glass?”
The man‘s expression changed. He sighed a breath of relief and smiled. “Alright, I’ll do just that! I‘m so sorry that
this happened! Please excuse us!”
He then brought his son away.

and pampering.
Shannon and Julie came over.
Shannon asked softly, “John, are you okay?” “I‘m fine.” He then looked at Julie. “Do you know the father and son?”
Julie said, “They should be Dennis Cornwell from Cloud Nine Entertainment and his son.”
Cloud Nine Entertainment was one of Stockton Corporation‘s subsidiaries, a new entertainment–focused company
that was just founded last year by himself. It had been doing well since its establishment.
John nodded. “Go get a present and give it to his son when the party‘s over.”
Julie was surprised. She smiled. “John, his son just bumped into you and almost hurt you with the broken glass.
You‘re going to give the boy a present instead of holding them responsible?” “It‘s nothing too serious. I just think
the kid is adorable,” John answered with a warm smile.
Julie‘s gaze shifted. She subtly glanced at Shannon and then replied, “Alright. I‘ll go prepare the present.”
Julie left.
Shannon noticed John was still looking in the direction where the boy was carried away. She smiled gently and said,
“John, you like kids? So do 14”
All of a sudden, John walked away before she could even finish.
Shannon was stunned. She clenched her fists in embarrassment.
Sherry was peeking outside the wall, so she heard and saw everything that happened. Her brows furrowed as she
turned away and continued waiting in silence.
Shannon walked to the secluded corner after John left her. She pulled a brand new phone out of her purse and
texted an unregistered number.
“How‘s the preparation there?”
She got an instant reply. “Don‘t worry. We are ready here. As soon as she walks out, we‘ll make her disappear.”
Shannon put her phone away and grinned wickedly.
Julie came back after telling one of the servants to send the kid a present. She walked over with a smile and asked,

Shannon immediately recovered her composure and smiled. “Oh, I‘m just feeling a little uncomfortable , so I‘m just
taking my time.”
“How are you? Do you need me to call the family physician?” “It‘s okay. It‘s just an old problem that has been
troubling me. I‘ll be fine after some rest.”
“Okay. I‘ll go attend to the guests.”
Julie smiled and walked away.
Shannon‘s expression turned frosty as soon as Julie left.
“That bitch is hiding something sinister behind that smile. When I‘m done with Sherry, you‘re next.‘
It had been a while since Sherry started waiting. Her bottom felt cold, and she almost could not feel her legs.
Celine suddenly came over. She cautiously looked around and then whispered , “Hold on for a little longer. When
the guests start leaving, I‘ll give you a signal.”
