Chapter 1390
Meanwhile, Sherry’s car had just entered the busiest street of Glenchester.
It was midnight, but the sleepless street remained lively and crowded.
People in groups of three or five were strolling down the bar-filled street with neon lights shedding their lively
brilliance on their tipsy faces. Instead of the howling of the chilly wind, music could be heard in the air.
A while later, the car stopped in front of a nightclub, which looked grander and much quieter than other places.
The nightclub was one of the oldest clubs in Glenchester. Before John became the richest man in the city, the
nightclub had always been the liveliest and the most popular gathering spot for the rich.
Now, it had declined into an old place with lame music, existing to only fill the void.
“Ms. Fowler, we’re here,” the driver said.
Sherry nodded and got out of the car.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe owner of the club saw her and came out to welcome her with several of his employees.
Sherry chatted with the owner before they went inside.
On the first floor, there was a live band playing music with several tables of customers drinking and chatting
together.
The owner prepared a quiet table near the window for Sherry.
Beside the table was the beautiful ceiling-to-floor glass. With the drizzle outside, the raindrops trickled down the
glass quietly.
The nightclub’s business was in a desolate state, but its unusual calmness and quietness were also charming.
Sherry started the meeting with the owner as soon as they sat down. The owner did most of the talking while
Sherry sipped wine from her glass.
The wine was brewed by the owner himself and had an exquisite taste indeed.
Just when she was feeling the heat from the wine, she accidentally glanced outside the window and spotted a
familiar figure coming out from an expensive MPV in the parking lot next door.
The bodyguards around the man lined up like dominos outside the car with umbrellas.
The man who came out from the car wore a tailored suit with a big trench coat hanging over his shoulder. Under
the dim lighting, his golden-framed glasses gleamed elegantly.
Sherry went breathless for a moment.
The man turned around and reached inside the car.
A child, wrapped tightly in expensive clothes, was carried out carefully. The man carried the child cautiously as if he
was afraid that the child would be hurt.
The bodyguards and the assistant beside him were cautious as well. The umbrellas were raised high in the sky
firmly, blocking every drop of rain from the child.
Sherry’s glass returned to the table as her eyes were glued in that direction.
The owner of the club noticed Sherry in a trance. He, too, looked in the direction of her gaze.
The owner was shocked when he saw John. “Isn’t that Master Stockton?”
He then turned to Sherry with a bright smile. “Ms. Fowler, do you know Master Stockton?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJohn had then carried Caprice into the club.
Sherry retracted her gaze and picked up her glass once more. She smiled, “Master Stockton is the richest man in
Glenchester. Who wouldn’t know him?”
The owner nodded. “You’re right, you’re right. Ever since. he became the richest man of the city, Glenchester’s
economy has skyrocketed.”
There was a hint of disappointment in his words. The economy had improved, and people had made a lot of money,
except for him.
Sherry said with a smile, “Mr. Cook, your wine is probably the best wine I have had in the past two years.’
Mr. Cook’s face was instantly filled with anticipation. Really? Then, our deal…”
“I am looking forward to working with you, Mr. Cook.” Sherry then drained the wine to the last drop and stood up
with a professional smile. “Someone will come over to discuss the details with you tomorrow around three. Thank
you for the wine. I’ll be going now.”
Mr. Cook’s eyes gleamed. He bolted up and smiled. ” Alright! Thank you very much. We’ll wait for your contact
tomorrow!”
