Chapter 1473
Sherry frowned as she watched the car drive further away.
It was only when an extra jacket was hung over her shoulder that she realized Carl had come chasing after her.
It was her own jacket that she had left in the room.
Sherry looked at him. “Carl, what the hell was that?”
She did promise Madam Sager to help Carl strengthen his position in the company and that she would fake an engagement with him before he took over the company.
However, no one should know about their fake engagement.
Carl looked rather agitated. A hint of loneliness flashed in his eyes, but he quickly recovered to his usual frivolous expression. He smiled and said, “Come on, don’t be mad. I
just want to help you test the man.”
Sherry was deeply annoyed. “Why are you testing him?”

Sherry frowned. “I came here for Caprice, not him!”
Carl raised a brow. “Then, why are you so agitated?”
Sherry choked on her motions. She said, “He took Caprice away. How can I not be agitated?!”
Carl stroked his nose awkwardly. “Caprice is also your daughter. He just can’t keep the girl’s mother from seeing her.”
“Well, believe it. He can and he did!” Sherry vented angrily.
In the past few days, she had been going to Stockton Tower with the thought of seeing Caprice, but John toyed with her every single day, leaving her annoyed and fed up.
She finally could carry Caprice in her arms tonight, yet Carl had to ruin it for her. She was not just annoyed; she was angry.
Carl stroked his nose again. “Should I go after them for you?”
Sherry angrily stepped on his food.
Carl grabbed his foot in pain and jumped around, squealing painfully.
Sherry glared at him. “Carl, if you mess with my private matters again, I’ll call your mother!”
She then headed towards the road.
John finally put his foot down after Sherry left his sight.
He sighed as he leaned against the wall lazily.
After Sherry hailed a taxi and left, he went back to his sports car and followed her.
It was already late when they left, so Sherry assumed that John brought Caprice home.
It was meaningless to chase after them now, so she
simply returned to her hotel. She had a suite on the tenth
floor where the elevator was heading.
She strode to her room, opened the door with the
keycard, and went inside.

He was just beside her, less than half a meter away.
Startled, Sherry instinctively took a step back. “What are you doing here?”
John glanced at the shut door and said, “Why are you so nervous? Afraid that I’m disturbing you?”
Sherry frowned. “I am not with Carl.”
John pursed his lips. He had actually checked her room before she returned and only found daily necessities for one person. No items of a man or any traces of someone else
were found in the room.
However, when he thought of the words he heard from Carl, he felt something different.
“Then, when did you promise to get engaged with him? Since when were you two together?” he asked as he stared at her with his sharp eyes.
Sherry pursed her lips in silence.
The engagement would definitely happen, but she had promised Madam Sager to not tell anyone about it as it was fake. She could not even tell her most trusted friend or
closest family.
Looking at her grim gaze, the man’s handsome face turned frosty.
He grinned. “Sherry, if you want to continue seeing
Caprice, you better answer me now.”
