Chapter 1855
Upon knowing that, she heaved a sigh of relief.
She took a step forward and said softly, “I don’t want to disturb you, so I’ll be leaving now.”
Liam darted a glance at her. “Where are you going?”
“I’m making a quick trip to the office first, then I’ll head back to the dorm.” She had to explain. everything that
happened to Moses, at the very least.
Liam glanced at the time on his watch before suggesting, “It’s going to be lunchtime soon. You
can leave after we eat.”
It turned out that he had already ordered their food, therefore she could not refuse the offer. She nodded briskly
and put her purse down before sitting on the couch next to Liarn.
Apart from Liam’s tea, there were several plates of snacks and drinks set on the table, all of which were Caprice’s
favorites. She grabbed a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice and took a couple of sips before moving on to the
snacks.
Liam sat stoically nearby. He had been holding the book on the same page for a while now.
The book was merely a facade. The entire time, he was regarding Caprice from the corner of his eyes. He observed

was her home.
Lunch was delivered shortly after.
After the meal, Caprice thanked Liam and left the penthouse.
After half an hour, a cab dropped her off at Moses’ office.
She wagered that Jonathan had already told him about the dramatic events involving President Michael last night. It
was already halfway through the workday by now, yet she had not received so much as a message from either
Jonathan or Moses. She assumed that they had already fired
her.
The only reason she bothered to go to the office at all was so that she could narrate her version of the events to
Moses before leaving.
She took a deep breath and walked into the building.
Soon, she arrived at the office unit. She pushed the door and stepped in boldly.
It was one in the afternoon, and everyone was hard at work.
Jonathan was seated in his office and was browsing something on his phone.
Caprice continued stepping inside.
“Caprice?” Someone noticed her and called out after her. This immediately drew the collective
attention of everyone present at the office, including Jonathan.
Contrary to her expectation, they all looked at her without the least bit of hostility. It did not seem like they harbored
any sort of grudge toward her for chasing away their client.
Not even Jonathan.
His hands suddenly jerked when he noticed Caprice, which almost made him drop his phone. It was such a comedic
scene that she cracked a smile when she saw it.
She felt weirded out by the situation.
That was when Moses came out of his office.
When he saw her, something glinted in his eyes. He hurriedly walked up to her and asked in a sympathetic voice,
“Caprice, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. About last night…”
He cut her off immediately, “Both myself and Jonathan were equally to blame for the situation. We shouldn’t have
made you attend such an inappropriate dinner. I’m sorry for the traumatic experience.”
Caprice was baffled.
It was evident from the look in her eyes.

friendly smile before continuing, “I promise that we will never put you in a situation like that again going forward. I
want you to feel safe working here.”
Caprice was still at a loss for words.
Why hadn’t they fired her?
Moses seemed like he had more to say, but his phone suddenly rang.
It was an important call from a notable client. He quickly excused himself. “I’ll talk to you later. Why don’t you finish
up with your tasks for now?”
With that, he answered the call and walked away.
The office was quiet again.
Caprice felt awkward standing idly and quickly scuttled to her seat.
Immediately after she sat down, Jonathan apologized to her, completely uninitiated, “About last night…it was my
fault. I shouldn’t have brought you there. Again, let me apologize.”
He was not even facing her when he said this but it was clear that those words were meant for
her.
It was hardly a sincere apology. It seemed more like he was forced to apologize and was too afraid to disobey.
