Chapter 1943
He was very aware of Heather’s hostility toward Caprice. He had a feeling that Heather only came to him with this
proposal because she wanted Liam for herself.
The only thing he was unsure of was how she came to know about his feelings for Caprice.
Heather frowned sharply. She did not expect Moses to figure out her true intentions right away. Furthermore, it
looked like he knew about Caprice and Liam.
Her eyes flickered with shock a few times. Immediately after that, she fixed a smug smile on her lips again and
announced, 'You’re only partially right. I wasn’t only trying to match you with Caprice. I’m also trying to get her to
leave that man who is such a horrible match for her."
Moses did not appreciate the contempt Heather had for Caprice in her tone, but he had to admit she made a good
point.
Apart from her good looks, Caprice was not particularly remarkable as far as her capabilities went. Besides, her
family background did not appear to be anything out of the ordinary either. If she came from a reputable family,
she would not have worked for his measly little company in the first place back then.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe daughter of a rich family would not even have his startup company on her radar at all.
Forget about Liam, her status was barely comparable to that of Heather's. The only reason she somehow ended up
with someone of a disproportionate status like Liam was that they happened to be childhood friends.
Upon noticing his hesitation in refuting her point, Heather smiled. She sank her claws in. "Mr. Stewart, you should
consider joining forces with me. Not only will you get to claim Caprice for yourself, but I can also provide a
substantial boost to your company's profile.”
She had done some research on Moses; this man was undoubtedly gifted and motivated as well.
His only shortcoming was his lack of connections due to his otherwise common status. If he wanted to propel his
career forward and grow his company, he would need better connections.
It made sense that Moses would at least consider her proposal.
Sure enough, he seemed intrigued.
After a long, ruminative silence, he spoke at last, "Miss Manson, I must admit that it's a very good deal, but I'm
afraid I will have to refuse your kind offer. I have my principles.”
Heather immediately stiffened.
She scoffed to herself and nearly broke into insults. After letting a wave of irritation pass through her, she spoke as
calmly as possible, 'You don't have to give me an answer right away. Think about it for a few days before getting
back to me. You have all the time in the world."
With that, she rose from the couch and put one of her business cards on top of the desk.
Before Moses could say anything, she was already on her way out.
He picked up the business card and inspected it. It was very well made. Its texture and weight alone differentiated it
from any other common business cards he had seen. It looked very expensive.
Heather’s name and contact information was written on top of it. Furthermore, her position was etched in bold
print: W Entertainment CEO.
W Entertainment was a legacy corporation in the entertainment industry. Apart from the entertainment industry,
they also dabble in some other sectors.
He was not very informed on how high VV Entertainment ranked amongst all the titan corporations in Westchester,
but one thing he knew for sure was that his company was a feeble ant in comparison.
He slumped back into his chair and closed his eyes, feeling a hint of restlessness.
Caprice went straight to the company upon her return to Glanchester.
Brianne and Logan had laid out the workflow going forward.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSeveral other departments in the company were going to be involved in the joint corporation. Caprice summoned
the heads of the respective departments to the conference room for a meeting. They went over the itinerary and
began distributing the workload amongst the members.
They spent the next ten days hard at work. It was only around then that everything began to fall into shape.
Going forward, Brianne and Logan could take over and supervise the remaining procedures.
There were still a lot of details and tasks that were not to be glossed over, but they were no longer Caprice's
concerns since the new semester was about to begin. She would go back to being a university student again.
One evening, after wrapping up the final task on her to-do list, she bade farewell to Brianne and Logan, then she
grabbed her bag and left the office.
When she got to the parking lot and entered the car, her parents were already waiting for her inside.
John and Sherry greeted her with warm smiles.
"All done?” Sherry asked.
Caprice nodded. "Yeap!”
John gently ruffled her hair and praised her, "Good work.”
Caprice beamed with pride and asked playfully, "So... is there going to be any kind of reward for me?"
John smiled and suggested, "Does inheriting the entire corporation sound good to you?"
