Chapter 881
“Master Carter, what do you think of my suggestion?” Lily asked.
Odell scanned through the documents in his hand and hummed in reply. “It’s decent but we might face problems
executing it.”
Lily looked slightly disheartened. “What kind of problems?”
“It’s unrealistic. The details need to be adjusted,” he said as he put the documents on the table.
There was an unpleasant look on Lily’s face.
Sylvia did not know if it was her imagination, but she felt as if Lily was looking in her direction.
Sylvia immediately turned around and flattened herself against the wall.
Lily could not know that she was there.
With that in mind, she continued to lean towards the door to peek out again.
By now, Lily was already standing in front of Odell’s desk and taking back the document.
She smiled. “Master Carter, I’ll adjust the details, but please do not forget about the dinner tomorrow night. My

Odell hummed in reply. Lily added, “Don’t forget to bring Ms. Ross as well. My partners
are intrigued by the rumored Mrs. Carter.”
Odell picked up a document, ignoring Lily’s words.
“If there’s nothing else, then I will take my leave now. Goodbye.” Lily walked out of the office with a polite smile.
As soon as her elegant figure walked out of the office , Sylvia returned to the bed.
There was a dinner tomorrow?
Was it about the collaboration between Carter Corporation and the Springsteens?
Why had he never mentioned it to her before?
Was it because of his busy schedule?
Sylvia furrowed her brows and rolled over on the bed in annoyance.
It was almost dark when the door finally opened and the handsome man in the suit came in.
He leaned over to the woman on the bed and patted her on her head. “It’s time to wake up.”
Sylvia’s eyes remained shut.
Moments later, she felt his dark shadow over her, and then he was kissing her before she could react.
The man’s dominating breath invaded her mouth.
Sylvia immediately opened her eyes and pushed at him.
Odell released her and smiled with narrowed eyes. “Are you
done pretending?”
Sylvia smiled sheepishly. “How did you know I was pretending?”
Odell pinched her face. “I know what you look like when you’re asleep and when you’re awake.”
Sylvia then asked, “Are you done with your work?”
“Yeah. Let’s go home.”
Sylvia got out of bed and followed Odell out of the office.
The day went by peacefully.
On the next day, Sylvia stayed home with the kids.
In the evening, after Sylvia fed Flint, she sat in front of the floor to-ceiling window with the baby and stared outside.
Her phone rang shortly after.

Sylvia answered it and heard him saying, “I have to attend a meeting later. I’ll be late tonight. Don’t wait for me to
have dinner. Just go to sleep if you’re tired.”
Sylvia recalled the dinner that Lily had mentioned yesterday and a hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes.
“Okay, take care.”
The call ended and Sylvia continued to stare at the setting sun.
When the sky was completely dark, Isabel came over to remind her that dinner was being served.
Sylvia carried Flint over to the dining table.
After dinner, Isabel carried the baby to Liam.
Sylvia watched them play until it was time for bed. Then, she ushered Isabel and Liam to bed before bringing Flint
back to her room.
After she had settled Flint, her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw a message from an unregistered number.
“Why didn’t he take you along to the dinner tonight?”
