Chapter 1362 Protect Your Sister
"It seems everyone is curious," muttered Raelle to herself as she went back to her room.
On the other hand, Hyson was the first one to run back home, and behind him, Shui Koshing also cto the Xiang Manor. "Opa, where is Major?" asked Hyson.
Grandfather Xiang put down the tablet that he was using to read the news and also put down his glasses. He looked at the very excited Hyson and raised his brows, "What did she do to make my little prince look so excited?"
"She got engaged without letting a word out," replied Hyson. "Tellwhere she is!"
"She did what?" asked Grandfather Xiang shaking his head. "I don't know what you younger generation are up to. I can't even keep up with you all. She cback and went to her room to change clothes. She'd be down in a minute. Just wait here."
Hyson tapped his foot on the floor repeatedly as he was very impatient right now. He wanted to go and knock on Xiang Wai's door but he held himself back. "Why is she taking so long?"
"Fai, you are too curious for your own good. Be patient," said Shui Koshing. "Anyway, where is your mother?"
Hyson looked at Shui Koshing, "You don't know where she is?"
"I should know?" asked Shui Koshing.

"That means she went out with your dad. Don't they do that too much these days?" asked Shui Koshing. "They go out every single day. It's not like they are young anymore. Why do they have so many things to do together."
"How would I know?" retorted Hyson. "Anyway, I'm not interested in knowing either. Mum is an adult, she has her own life, her own ideas, and she knows what's right and wrong for her. I can't control her. I couldn't do it before, can't do it even more now. If I could really control anything, I'd have loved to make her give up on the hopeless love of hers."
"But the truth is Fai, that hopeless love is now very hopeful and a reality too. This is why they say, hope is very necessary in life. Very very necessary. It can be a gchanger in life."
"What are you talking about?" asked Xiang Wai as she cdown in her loungewear. "Uncle Shing, you're looking younger and younger. Any secrets for this renewed youth?"
"Hope!" answered Shui Koshing. "To both your questions, the answer is hope. We were discussing about how hope is very important in life. Just look at me, I'm living a hopeful life these days and I'm feeling like all my hidden ailments have mysteriously vanished."
"This is a very interesting point," nodded Xiang Wai to herself. "But what are you hopeful about?"
"About everything," replied Shui Koshing. "You see, my daughter is no longer as bitter as she used to be and is willing to talk to me, sit with me, eat with me, and she even invitedout to have fun. And my son is no longer lonely and sad and looking like a lifeless zombie. He is so full of love again. More than ever. Now, I'm hoping to wait for my second spring."
Hyson coughed and Xiang Wai also looked at him strangely.
"What?" asked Shui Koshing.
"Nothing," said Xiang Wai. "It's your choice and your right to fall in love again."
"Exactly! No one stipulated that you need to live alone," added Hyson.
Shui Koshing laughed out loud at their reaction and said, "You both are dumb! When I said waiting for my second spring, although I do mean falling in love again, however, this love is reserved for my granddaughter."
"Ohhhh..." said Xiang Wai and Hyson simultaneously before looking at each other and then looking away.
"Wait! You distracted me," said Hyson. "You, Major, are a real thief!"
"Huh?" Xiang Wai was dumbfounded when she heard his accusation. "What did I do?"
Hyson took her left hand in his own and saw that the ring was missing, he frowned. He would never doubt that Raelle lied to him about something like this. She never even lied about minor things much less about something so major. Knowing this, he asked, "Where is the ring?"
The question cout of nowhere and in a daze, Xiang Wai pulled out the ring from around her neck and said, "Here!"
"You proposed, I heard."
Xiang Wai paused and then looked at Shui Koshing and then at her grandfather who were also looking back at her attentively and eagerly waiting for her response. Clearing her throat, she responded, "Yeah, I did."

Xiang Wai bit her tongue sheepishly, "Hehe... Little brother, hearout!"
"I don't want to! You lied."
"I didn't!" said Xiang Wai.
"Then you didn't keep your words. Isn't that similar to lying? No, it's even worse!"
Xiang Wai rubbed her forehead, "Would you letspeak?"
"What more do you have to say, dear sister?"
"I didn't think you'd callsister but this is clearly not a good moment to focus on this," muttered Xiang Wai. "Letexplain myself first. I have a very good reason for what happened. If you just givea chance. You'd understand me."
"You sound like you're making excuses," said Hyson seriously.
"You of all people should know that no one in our family knows how to make excuses. We always have a reason behind whatever we do. You can't just condemnwithout knowing the whole truth. Right now, you are my little brother. Stand on my side and listen to me. You're supposed to protect your sister. That's what brothers are for."
"You're getting too sentimental now, Major!" said Hyson and crossed his arms as he stood in front of looking at her. "Fine. I'm giving you ten minutes to explain yourself. You better have a well and good reason for wasting my days."
