Perhaps Shangguan Yun was not looking at her phone, so she only replied by the time Huo Yao reached home.
Y: [Nope. This is a clan secret. The elders would never bring up the subject.]
Y: [Why are you asking?]
Huo Yao changed into her slippers and texted a reply as she walked: [I’m curious.]
Shangguan Yun knew that Huo Yao was not the curious sort. She paused and wrote: [Did something happen? Wei hasn’t replied to me yet.]
Huo Yao poured herself a glass of water and sat down on the couch. She typed candidly: [Wei has gone missing]
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtY: [What do you mean missing? Couldn’t you find him?]
Huo Yao pondered and wrote back: [Nope.]
She pondered before following up with another text message: [Do you think he’s doing this to lure me out?]
Y: [I don’t think so. What does this have to do with the traitor?]
Huo Yao raised her brow. Sometimes, Shangguan Yun could be quite stupid but it did not happen all the time: [It’s not related. I was just worried Wei might have run into the traitor.]
Shangguan Yun finally felt relieved: [Don’t worry. Wei is a decent fighter.]
Huo Yao’s cheeks twitched. Since she could not squeeze anything out of Shangguan Yun, she stopped trying and closed the chat.
After putting down her phone, Huo Yao leaned against the couch’s backrest and quietly looked at the crystal chandelier on the ceiling thinking about something.

Meanwhile, at the international airport.
A man dressed in a black jumper with the hood up wearing a black mask stood at the airport security gate near the French windows. It was none other than Yuan Huan.
A man dressed in dark clothing was also with him.
The man was not as tightly concealed as Yuan Huan. He had well-defined features and beautiful blue eyes.
“Good luck,” said the man mildly with his hands behind him.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYuan Huan adjusted his mask. He was clearly angry. “I have spent years planning this. How could I let a woman ruin my work? I can’t leave yet. How can I?”
He had suffered a penetrating gunshot wound to his chest and the people at the Ministry of National Security kept whipping him while he was in their custody. Ever since he got out on bail, he had to go into hiding. He naturally could not stop thinking about revenge.
A murderous aura radiated from Yuan Huan as he stood in front of the man, but it had no effect on the man. The man simply said nonchalantly, “You idiot.”
Yuan Huan clenched his fists with his eyes lowered.
“I don’t care what you want to do. Let me remind you. If you don’t come back with the person I want, you can forget about ever returning,” said the man nonchalantly.
Yuan Huan paused briefly and quickly suppressed his temper. He clenched his fists tightly and broke out in cold sweat when he heard what the man said.
He raised his head and looked at the man. He parted his lips wanting to speak, but the man did not give him the opportunity to do so. Instead, the man walked toward the security gate.
Yuan Huan watched from behind as the man walked away. Even though the man looked completely normal, he could sense an intimidating aura coming from him. After the man had finally disappeared through the security gate, things finally felt less tense.
Yuan Huan inhaled deeply. He adjusted his hood and pulled it down his forehead before he walked out of the airport quickly.
He walked out of the airport, flagged a cab, and went straight to Tsing University.
