Chapter 269: Oh, It’s Huo Yao
After seeing his face, Huo Yao quickly recalled that he was the professor whom she met at the Principal’s office a few days ago.
Zhao Lian was the honorary member of the Education Association and Tsing University’s Biology professor.
Huo Yao composed herself and nodded unhurriedly. “Hello, Prof Zhao.”
Zhao Lian looked into Huo Yao’s calm eyes and nodded. Despite his usual sternness, he warmed up a little to her. “I knew you looked familiar. I didn’t realize it was you, Huo Yao.”
Yi Feiyu raised his head in surprise when he heard Professor Zhao sounding so friendly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYi Feiyu thought he was going to get reprimanded. However, it turned out that Professor Zhao and Junior Huo Yao were acquainted.
Also, Professor Zhao seemed to be particularly warm towards her. The students in the Biology faculty had always commented that it was like sitting in the North Pole when they attended his classes.
He was cold and stern.
Huo Yao smiled gently. She glanced at Yi Feiyu before she replied politely. “The contest just finished. I came over out of curiosity after bumping into Senior Yi Feiyu.”
Zhao Lian said, “Oh, I see.”
Then he continued. “No harm visiting the campus ahead of time.”
He paused for a second and said in a gloomy tone, “Why didn’t you visit me at the Biology Research Institute?
Did that old geezer, Yu He, purposely send Huo Yao to the Physics faculty?
The Principal of No.1 Middle School’s name was Yu He.
Huo Yao was stunned to hear Professor Zhao’s question. How could an ordinary middle school student, who was yet to undergo the college entrance exam, wander around Tsing University as she pleased?
Zhao Lian detected the surprise on Huo Yao’s face and could not help saying in an odd tone. “Didn’t your Principal tell you anything?”
Huo Yao recalled the Principal only asking about her results after the contest, so she shook her head.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmZhao Lian instantly scoffed in his heart. Yu He did not take her to the Biology department and sent her to the Physics faculty instead. This decade-long friendship was over.
The Principal was on his way back to the hotel after lunch when he suddenly sneezed hard. He rubbed his nose and felt as though someone was cursing him behind his back.
“Hmm? You two aren’t students from my faculty, right?” asked the Physics professor after he glanced at Huo Yao and Yi Lianfan. The Physics professor had gone far but turned back when he noticed Zhao Lian staying back and talking to the students.
First, Professor Zhao and now even the Physics professor got involved. Yi Feiyu was on the brink of tears. He shivered as he explained. “P-P-Prof, these middle school seniors are here for the National Quiz Contest. We happened to be from the same city, so I was showing them around...”
The Physics professor nodded when he realized what was going on. He did not get upset. Instead, he turned to Zhao Lian and asked perplexedly. “Lian, do you know these students?”
Zhao Lian cleared his throat and said, “Uh huh. They are from Yu He’s middle school.”
The Physics professor was rather surprised. He could not help taking a second look at Huo Yao and Yi Lianfan and asked them. “How did you do in the heats yesterday?”
Since the National Quiz Contest finals just wrapped up, their results were yet to be released.
Before Huo Yao and Yi Lianfan said a word, Zhao Lian replied. “They are the top students from Yu He’s school. Of course, they did well.”
Then Zhao Lian paused before waving at the Physics professor impatiently and said, “Enough. Stop asking so much. Let them leave.”
