The directors looked at Weston with some surprise. They

Weston rubbed his brow. “He‘s not trying to stifle me. He‘s forcing me to make a choice.”

Warren was forcing Weston to stop protecting Stella. He wanted Stella to confess to the crime in the next trial. He

wanted her prisoned forever.
