Chapter 452
Matthew casually slid his hand into his pocket. His slender figure made him seem like he
was the protagonist stepping out of a
comic book.
He exuded an air of nobility yet appeared easygoing, and he seemed really smart.
Matthew hesitated, but he still got into the car.
Cynthia took him to the residential area where she usually stayed for work and handed
him the key to the adjacent unit, asking him to register his fingerprints for the door lock
“There are new towels and toiletries in the guest bedroom. You just need to bring your
change of clothes tomorrow, and you can officially move in.”
Cynthia had arranged everything well.
Matthew responded, “Alright.”
Seeing that she had finished most of her instructions, Cynthia planned to leave. Just as
she walked out and was about to open her own door, she received a text message.
It was a bank transaction notification for 20,000 USD
She glanced at the message only to find that Matthew had transferred her the money.
Cynthia knocked on his door, frowning-

Matthew quickly opened the door, already removing his coat. With only a white shirt on,
he looked clean and dignified.
“What’s wrong?”
Cynthia handed him the phone. “This.”
Matthew glanced at it and replied casually, “That’s for the rent.”
“No need.”
“Of course, it’s needed.”
“I don’t lack money, nor do I lack housing.” Cynthia spoke earnestly.
Matthew smirked.
Cynthia opened the banking app and transferred the money back to him. “Don’t transfer
money to me anymore. It’s a waste to leave this place empty, and having you live here
will bring more life to the house.”
“Are you trying to make me a freeloader?” Matthew blurted out.
Cynthia froze.
They stood there, both not saying anything.
Matthew broke the silence. “If I give it to you, just accept it. If you really don’t want to
accept it, consider it half a year’s rent.”
This area of Nexuria was highly sought after, and renting a four-bedroom, two-bathroom
apartment with a large balcony in this location would cost tens of thousands of dollars per
month.
“I’m your teaminate, and I have the money to support you. It’s not about being a
freeloader. It’s about mutual assistance,” Cynthia spoke earnestly, yet with a touch of
indifference.
“Do you want to do the frog jump?”
Cynthia did not reply.
“Or do you prefer running with weights?”1/2

“I’m going to bed.”
Cynthia left, and she did not transfer the monry back to Matthew. If necessary, she could
simply increase his salary and give
him more bonuses.

for a moment. Then she decided to call Mitchell
When the call connected, Cynthia did not beat around the bush and asked directly, “Do
you know what Captain’s family does?”
“I’m not quite sure. I haven’t asked. Why?” Mitchell replied calmly.
“Nothing… Ile’s back,” Cynthia said.
Mitchell asked, “Did you meet?”
“Mhm.”
“Why do you seem distracted?”
“I’m considering what position to assign him. He’ll start working at Arch International
Group on Monday,” Cynthia explained, thinking Mitchell might have more insight on this
matter.
Mitchell raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He did not expect Matthew to be
so quick in pursuing Cynthia,
“Do you have any suggestions?” Cynthia asked him.
“Captain is not familiar with office work, so you should first have him work alongside you
to get acquainted and see which areas he excels in. Once you have a clear understanding,
you can assign him a suitable role,” Mitchell provided a helpful suggestion.
